The hidden garden on Governor's Bay near Christchurch, New Zealand means young lady in Maori. This garden was established in 1865 by a native New Zealand horticulturalist with a variety of plant species introduced both locally and overseas. After the horticulturalist died in 1888, the garden was transformed by other architects and artists into a perfect blend of gardens, architecture and sculpture. But after living in Christchurch for many years, I only recently heard friends talk about the garden, and I can see that the secret work of the garden is well done. But it was badly damaged in the 2010 Canterbury earthquake, and architects, craftsmen and horticulturalists have reinforced and remodeled it many times before it took on its present appearance. It won the New Zealand Gold Award for Horticultural Landscape in 2009. Listen to the gardener inside said that the seeds of the wisteria flower in the garden are still from China. I hope that next time I see it, I will feel different.
