Taichung National Opera House (Taichung Opera House for short) is a large-scale public performance space located in the seventh-phase rezoning area of Xitun District, Taichung City. It was designed by a Japanese architect and covers an area of 57,685 square meters. The Opera House has a large theater (2014 seats), a medium-sized theater (800 seats) and a small experimental theater (200 seats), as well as a dining space and a sky garden. In December 2009, Liming Construction began to build the main body of the building. The unique construction method (curved wall construction method and water curtain fire protection design) has also been recognized by the world. It was completed and opened on November 23, 2014.
