The Cook Strait is located in the Marlborough region of New Zealand, and was named after the British navigator J. Cook visited here. The strait is more than 200 kilometers long from north to south, and the average water depth is more than 100 meters. The Strait connects the South Pacific and the Tasman Sea, and is an important channel for maritime traffic and trade.
