At the southernmost tip of Zhanjiang, it is the southernmost pole of the Chinese mainland. In ancient times, it was known as extreme south and southern south and the southernmost point of mainland China. The corner of Xuwei Township in Xuwen County is embraced by the Qiongzhou Strait and the Beibu Gulf. The terrain resembles a horn that extends to the sea, hence the name Yaowei Township. The lamp corner is the southernmost lamp corner building in mainland China. It was built in the 16th year of Guangxu (1890) and faces Hainan Island. It is the only navigation light of the Qiongzhou Strait, the South China Sea Islands and the Beibu Gulf. It is also the southernmost point of the Chinese mainland. It was once occupied by the French, and there have been many remains until now. The remaining wall corridors stand silent and tell the vicissitudes of history.
