Mengxi Garden is the place where Shen Kuo, a famous scientist of the Northern Song Dynasty, lived in his later years. He wrote the scientific masterpiece "Mengxi Bi Tan" here. Dr. Needham, a British scientist who studies the history of Chinese science and technology in modern times, praised "Mengxi Bi Tan" as a scientific coordinate of the eleventh century. The Mengxi Garden is simple and elegant, with elegant scenery. There are buildings such as An Laotang, Xiaoxiaotang, Kexuan, Shenzhai, Yuanting, Cangxia Pavilion, and a stream flows through the garden. The overall building is in the style of the Qing Dynasty. In the back hall, there are full body statues of Shen Kuo, text pictures, models, and real objects, showing Shen Kuo's scientific research achievements in astronomy, geography, mathematics, chemistry, physics, biology, geology, and medicine. The couplets on the two pairs of pillars in the room are a high summary and evaluation of Shen Kuo's life: "Shen Kuo is intoxicated in the East China Sea, West Hunan, Sichuan and Northern Kingdoms, and the mountains are especially magnificent; it includes astronomical phenomena, geology, humanities and physics." "Several volumes of strange relics and chronicles have no intention to evenly ink; in the early month of June, the south and the north are driving for the common people."
