I think Yaei Dam is a very big dam. There is a large bridge connecting Hiroshima Prefecture and Yamaguchi Prefecture, and if you drive there, you can see the water in the dam clean. There is also a park on the Yamaguchi Prefecture side, so I think it's a place to relax. It's a beautiful place.
Yae Dam is a gravitational concrete dam located in Kogata-cho, Otake City, Hiroshima Prefecture, and is read as "Yasaka Dam". It was a dam built on the Ose River Honkawa in the Ose River water system and used to be called "Hachicho Dam". The size of the dam was 120 m with a height of the embankment and a length of 540 m, and the width was the fifth largest and overwhelming volume in Japan. There were four credit gates in the middle of the embankment, which was magnificent. In the surrounding area, Ozegawa Damm, Watanose Damm, ikumigawa Damm, and Iinoyama Da ...
About 10 minutes to climb National Highway 186. A stone monument appears and you can see the surface of the lake of Yaei Dam. If you go a little further and reach the red truss bridge, you can see the embankment body well, but it was a little unusual dam with big bends on both sides.
About 20 minutes by car from Otake Interchange. Note that there is no convenience store after National Highway 2. For the time being, you can enjoy the beautiful scenery of the dam lake, and there are spots where you can play in the river if you go upstream a little, so it is recommended that families with children go to cool down as a drive.
Yae Dam is one of the largest multipurpose dams in Japan. There is also a plaza where you can play in the water and camp, so it is crowded with families. There is a bus from Otake Station to Yaei Dam, but it is quite far. I think there are more people who go by car.
