Yesterday, I made a special trip from Jiujiang Station to Donglin Temple at the southwest foot of Mount Lu. This temple was founded during the Eastern Jin Dynasty and is the ancestral home of the Pure Land sect of Buddhism. With a history of over 1000 years, it has been destroyed and rebuilt multiple times. Due to the damage it suffered during the calamitous periods, the main buildings we see today were reconstructed after 1978. It must be said that the architectural style of this temple truly captivates my heart.

On the day I arrived at Lushan, I was lucky enough to witness the rare sight of a rainbow cloud and the Great Buddha together. - At the foot of Lushan's southern slope in the town of Wenquan stands the world's tallest Amitabha Buddha bronze statue—the Donglin Great Buddha. This 48-meter-tall statue, plated with 48 kilograms of gold, belongs to the Donglin Temple, a Buddhist Pure Land sect ancestral temple with a history of over 1600 years. 🔆 The stone steps leading to the Great Buddha number 949, and the Buddha is seated on a 48-petal lotus platform, symbolizing the forty-eight great vows emitted by Amitabha Buddha. The scenic area is open to the public for free and operates non-commercially, providing free drinking water, beverages, and free distribution of scriptures; 200 vegetarian meals are provided daily, available from 9:30 am. 🚗 The Donglin Great Buddha is located in the Pure Land Garden, 21km from Donglin Temple. It is recommended to drive there, or you can take a high-speed train to De'an Station and then take a taxi. The parking fee is 15 yuan/day, not charged by time. 🌿 1⃣ Inappropriate dress is not allowed; women should not wear short sleeves, shorts, or short skirts. Free aprons are available to cover up, which must be returned upon descending the mountain. Additionally, women are required to tie up their hair and not leave it loose. 2⃣ The opening hours are 8:00-17:00, closed on Mondays.
