I saw it running along National Highway 213, so I stopped by. There is a parking lot. A great man who visited Macau, India, Jerusalem and Rome in the early Edo period. It is said that Christianity was banned when he returned to Japan even though he joined the Jesuits. He is from Kunimi Town here.
If you go forward from the parking lot of Kunimi Furusato Exhibition Hall, you will find Petrocasui Kibe Park. I know that there are many Christian-related facilities in Kyushu, but I didn't know about Petrocasui Kibe. There is a church in the park, a statue of Petro Casui Kibu. I was impressed that the materials were still carefully preserved in the Kunimi Furusato Exhibition Hall and became a park.
It is a park to commemorate the first Japanese visit to Jerusalem in the 17th century and then to Rome. I only knew the name, but it was the first time I've been here. There are many Christian historic sites and parks in western Kyushu such as Nagasaki Prefecture and Amakusa, but it is one of the few in eastern Kyushu. In fact, there are various graveyards, just like Sorin Otomo was a Christian daimyo. The world map and the statue of the Virgin Mary were impressive.
