While not the real ancient architecture from years before, the Lijing Gate in Luoyang (Henan Province in China) still makes for a decent afternoon pitstop if you've already hit all the main sites and have some time to spare. In just one or two hours, you can easily see everything you need to. Stroll along the old city streets, and take a peek at what all the vendors are selling - this can be everything from toys and souvenirs to traditional candy and other such delicacies. We actually had one of the best bowls of noodles I've tried in a long time - they were super simple stir-fried noodles, but were expertfly flavored and only 8RMB for a HUGE bowl that was more than enough for two people to share for a lighter lunch option. Lijing Gate, Luoyang, Henan province. We are on the way to the Luoyang ancient city and of course at first we should pass through the city gates. Lijing Gate is a some kind of postal card of Luoyang, if it could be said in that way to emphasize its importance for local culture. Monumental ancient fortification for defense and control of visitors coming to this ancient capital for different reasons. Especially beautiful it looks from the inside after crossing small bridge and entering.

Welcome to Luoyang. As a local, of course, I have the greatest say in things. There are many famous scenic spots in Luoyang, so there are quite a few tourists who come to visit. I suggest everyone choose the off-peak season for travel, as it can bring a nice travel experience. During the off-peak season, homestays are roughly between 80-150. Most of the scenic spots are in the old town area, and it's more interesting to visit at night. During the day I recommend going to Longmen Grottoes, White Horse Temple. At night you can go to Lijing Gate, Ying Tianmen, and other scenic spots.

Lijing Gate, the western gate of Jinning Luoyang City, was built in the first year of Xingding during the Jin Dynasty (1217), located in the west of the Old City District of Luoyang City, Henan Province, northeast of the site of the Sui and Tang Dynasties' Yingtian Gate. The entire Lijing Gate scenic area consists of the city gate tower, urn city, arrow tower, city wall, and Lijing Bridge (which was a drawbridge in ancient times), as well as the moat. With its high and thick city walls, broad crescent city, layered gates, clouds floating above, and its majestic presence, it has become the leading historical and cultural district of the old city of Luoyang. It has become one of the most distinctive symbols of the ancient city's history and culture and has been named one of the 'Eight Scenic Spots of Luoyang', praised with the saying, 'One who has not been to Lijing Gate has come to Luoyang City in vain.' As the number one tower in the Central Plains and the foremost gate of the ancient capital, Lijing Gate is the only comprehensive tourist area in the ancient city of Luoyang that integrates dining, accommodation, travel, tourism, shopping, and entertainment. A poet praised its endless charm with the lines: 'Luoyang's peonies are the best under heaven, Lijing's city tower is unparalleled in the world.'

Behind Lijing Gate is Shizi Street, which leads all the way to the ancient city of Luoyi; inside Lijing Gate there are some cultural relics, but overall, there isn't much significance in going up.

👑 Wangcheng Park, a secret spot for enjoying flowers in ancient style! Hey friends! 👋 Last weekend, the sun was shining perfectly, and I took a stroll around Wangcheng Park in Luoyang. It really was an unexpected treasure of a place! Let me share a bit about my little adventure~ 🌼 First off, a sea of mesmerizing flowers! Upon entering the park, I was stunned by the dazzling array of flowers, with various peonies competing in splendor, unbelievably beautiful. 📸 Second, a photography paradise! This place is simply heaven for photography enthusiasts, with its antique buildings and the full bloom of spring, the photos taken here are full of artistic flair. 🚶‍♂️ Third, a stroll and a chat! Walking along the cobblestone paths, I occasionally heard nearby guides telling historical stories, which was both a physical workout and an educational experience. 💡 Fourth, a cultural experience! Wangcheng Park also houses numerous cultural relics exhibitions, where one can easily learn a lot about ancient emperors and generals. 🌸 Fifth, a great spot for picnics! I found a quiet corner, spread out my picnic mat, and enjoyed the food and the breeze, this is the right way to spend a weekend!
