Desaru Ostrich Farm
Address:
Jalan Telok Ramunia, Kampung Changi, 81600 Pengerang, Johor, Malaysia
Highlights:
The farm is located behind houses, in case you are surprised by the location. Quite spacious with several containment areas where the ostriches are kept. From the eggs, babies and grown-ups.
The entrance fee is reasonable and food for feeding the animals only cost RM2 per bundle.
There were free-roaming ostriches and they had their own names. I particularly like Lulu and Lily. I enjoyed feeding them, the calmest ostriches I have ever met. You also get to stand on the real ostrich eggs, they won't break!
Other animals like chickens, rabbits, guinea fowls and horses are available too. Good for both kids and adults. The farm was clean and well maintained. Staffs were friendly and informative too. Highly recommended.

Great visit, gain a lot of knowledge about ostrich, you can also enjoy ostrich meat, egg and soup, buy some ostrich food at the counter (corn / vege) to enjoy ostrich feeding, kids can also experience ostrich riding with extra fees apply. Recommend for a family trip, spend around 30-45min here will be enough. About all the fees and pricing, photos taken, please take a look at the details.
Its our 1st time here at Desaru Ostrich Farm, the largest in Malaysia. We feed the ostriches after buying RM5 food at the counter. The elderly Indian man who is the tour guide is very friendly and gives a detailed explanation of the history, operations and future of the farm!A must visit destination as we all enjoyed ourselves!
We went to visit Ostrich Farm @ Desaru earlier. Look how cute it is! Would recommend here to bring your families or friends! Small kids can ride Ostrich at 30RM.
There would be a lot of activities provided in Desaru Ostrich Farm such as ostrich feeding, ostrich riding and ostrich cuisine tasting which could be fun to have a try. Unique souvenirs made of ostriches are available there too.
Desaru Ostrich Farm in the Desaru area is indeed a breeding ground for cassowary birds. The reason is that this place is the largest bird breeding farm in Malaysia. According to people, there are more than 200 of these birds in this area. But because this is a family farm, the area is not like a tourist spot.
1st time here & amaze how a lil kampung area breeds this Beatiful Bird. parking was limited & pretty easy to head down here fm Sg or fm Lotus/Sand & Sandal resorts, abt 30min drive. Close encounter to baby ostricts to Old generations. Buy a Feeding basket upon entry & Feeding was fun experience.
