I stopped by after seeing the nearby weeping cherry blossoms. The cherry blossoms here are also beautiful. The cherry blossoms are called "Genkiyozakura". It was dusk, but the blue sky looks great.
I went to see it because there is a magnificent cherry tree. Unfortunately it was raining, but the fairly large cherry tree was in full bloom and it was wonderful. Perhaps this area is a temple town, there were several temples, and wonderful cherry blossoms were in bloom at every temple.
The highlight is the big cherry blossoms standing in front of the main hall. It is built in a murky open space. There is also Otohime Sakura at Myosekiji Temple in the immediate vicinity, and famous cherry blossom trees are competing.
There is a large weeping cherry blossom at the entrance of Myotokuji Temple. It is said that it was planted by Kataoka Suruga no Kami Genkiyo when he founded Myotokuji Temple, and it is named "Genkiyo Sakura". It was one of the three weeping cherry blossoms in Shirakawa, but it was a very ordinary cherry blossom.
