Cherry blossoms in the light of lanterns
The flowering of Japanese cherries is almost synonymous with spring. At this time of the year, the whole country is awash in pink and white flowers. Huge crowds gather in large parks during hanami, the festival of admiring sakura. However, if you want to admire the delicate petals in peace and quiet, think about Hamarikyu Gardens.
How to get there
Hamarikyu Gardens are a short walk from several stations. It can also be reached by river tram from Asakusa.
The gardens can be reached in 15 minutes from Shimbashi Station or in five minutes from Shiodome Station on the Oedo Subway Line or the Yurikamome Line.
A Tokyo river tram docks at the pier next to the gardens. It follows the Sumida River Line route from Asakusa in 35 minutes — a pleasant alternative to the subway. The entrance fee to the gardens is included in the fare. However, to return to Asakusa by the same route, you will have to take a short boat trip to Hinode Pier — only from there the river tram will take you back to Asakusa.
It is interesting
During the Edo period (1603-1867), the shogun's residence stood here and duck hunting grounds were located
In the tea house on the pond, you can drink matcha tea with traditional Japanese sweets
They are beautiful both day and night
Sakura trees against the backdrop of the Shiodome skyscrapers are the embodiment of the contrast between old and modern Tokyo. Cherry blossoms are beautiful during the day, but after sunset, the backlight gives it a magical, unearthly charm.
The cherry blossom Festival in Hamarikyu Gardens usually takes place from the end of March to the beginning of April.
There is a water bus directly to Asakusa, and hundreds of years ago, it was also the sea exit of the general out of Edo City. The interior planning of the park is full of Japanese-style garden elegance. Although there is no building in the water tea house, you can still feel the style of the year. In the area surrounded by high-rise office buildings, this feeling made me cross a little. There are also relics of the general falcon hunting duck in the yard, which is very interesting.
Because of the vacation, I come here to visit the courtyard on weekdays. There are not only woods and lakes, but also tea rooms established by Tokugawa's family. From the tea room, you can see three or two cranes and ducks. It’s good to come here in a daze in your spare time.
A place with Japanese garden characteristics, tickets are negligible. You can experience the Zen artistic conception of Japanese gardens, the building is calm and low-key, and the garden is quite beautiful and charming.
Very good trip, suitable for the whole family to go out together, the scenery and environment are good, it is very convenient, will come again next time.
Easy access from Asakusa, Tokyo with water bus. Entry fee is cheap. Beautiful, calm place with wonderful nature to relax and spend one day with friends and family.
Hamarikyu Gardens offers a serene retreat in Tokyo's heart, with tidal ponds and historic teahouses. A harmonious blend of nature and culture
A very quiet public leisure courtyard, green rivers are very good, surrounded by high-rise buildings, next to JR Binsongding Station, easy access, cheap tickets, only 150 yen / person, there is also an archery field specially for local people to practice, ticket office and authentic Japanese umbrella oh, good place.
I went around outside. It was green, green, and green, like a botanical park like a jungle, which I couldn't think of in the middle of the city. Some people are jogging and it is perfect for a walk course.
