If you ever find yourself planning a trip to Xplor, be sure to take a look down below to get information on the top things you can do in Xplor Cancun.

Two of Cancun’s favorite parks, Xcaret and Xplor Cancun are two sides of the same coin. While one is located in the heart of River Maya and is an ecological tourist spot, the other while owned by the same corporation is an amusement park with hoards of fun activities. While this doesn’t mean Xcaret isn’t popular, Xplor is definitely the one to head to if you want to have a fun-filled day with kids. Here we try to bring out a few areas of Xplor Park and Xcaret eco-park. However, if you are in Cancun, try to visit both before your holiday ends. It’s worth it.

If you are looking for adrenaline-pumping excitement and adventure, Xplor is the perfect park for you. Here, everything is about zip lines, underground river swimming, rafting, and driving jeeps through dense forests. However, at the end of the day, it all boils down to four activities which you will find doing a lot

There will be two routes of zip lines taking you across the park, so you can go on both or just one. It’s advisable to take both as only then will you be able to appreciate the real beauty of Xplor Park from the canopies.

If you love rafting, then don’t forget to rent one and explore the multiple underground rivers which flow through Xplor park. The underground rivers of Xplor make for a brilliant swim, so make sure you have your swimsuit with you before jumping in.

Dense woods and forests make up the park and you can hire a jeep and drive around exploring the brilliant topography of the region.

Although Xplor is famous, it’s best enjoyed by people who are between the ages of 13 to 45. If you are pregnant or don’t like adventure so much then maybe visit Xcaret park first. Xcaret is more friendly towards all age groups, and elderly tourists and kids below 13 can have a lot of fun. On the other hand, Xplor is famous for its zip lines on which you can hitch a ride and observe the beauty of the region.

If in Xcaret however, you can find something for everyone in your group. From increased ease of mobility to tranquil walks among the wooded forests, Xcaret Park is a wonderful getaway if you are traveling with your entire family. If it’s just you and your partner looking for a break from the monotony of work, then Xplor is the place you should head to first.

Xplor is famous for its zip lines and natural underground rivers. There are several underground river tours that are available, and there are two ways you can do this. If you want to do it in the day before lunch, then you can see the gigantic rock forms which are scattered everywhere. However, if you are doing the trip at night, then try to notice the natural caves, bridges, and the fireflies which flit everywhere.

These underground rivers of Xplor have a very interesting story. Remember the asteroid which wiped out the dinosaurs? Yes, the one which was nearly 10 kilometers in diameter and crashed into Earth. Well, it crashed into the Yucatan peninsula, creating these natural architectural marvels, in addition to magnificent stalagmites, stalactites, and exciting new creatures. You will find these everywhere surrounding the underground rivers from the ceiling and are a visual treat. If you are an experienced swimmer then it’s recommended that you do the entire 400 meters because you will be rewarded with one of the most fascinating views of Xplor park at the end. However, if you are inexperienced, or don’t know how to swim, they have a shorter route which is hardly 100 meters. There are also emergency exits provided every 100 meters or so if you are feeling claustrophobic and want to get out quickly. If you have a waterproof camera, take it along as the waters are crystal clear and make for some brilliant images for you to enjoy later on.

Xplor Park is the perfect place to indulge in all the thrill-seeking activities you have always dreamed about. Ziplining is by far the most popular activity here, and with good reason. Who doesn’t want to glide over a jungle and splash into a pool? After all, the zip-lines in Xplor are the tallest and safest in the entire region of Cancun. So before you rush to strap yourself in, here is some information regarding this activity.

With the zip lines going over 4 kilometers over the park, the highest one stands at nearly 45 meters above the forest floor. This gifts you with incredible views and a rush of adrenaline as you glide over the trees at astonishing speeds. There are two circuits available, and each has around seven zip lines. As this activity is famous, most tourists come to Xplor Park during the season, and there can be quite a long queue. It’s advisable to explore online offers and book them with a lot of planning from beforehand. The most exciting thing about this activity is not the gliding, but at the end of it, you splash into a cenote and get soaked on a water slide. This is highly exhilarating and is a great activity to do with your friends or partner.

This is however not recommended for kids below a certain age, and people who suffer from vertigo or are pregnant. In order to ensure the experience is safe, there is a minimum weight requirement of around 40 kilos. The maximum you can weigh to be allowed on is around 135 kilos. The harness has a circumference of around 130 cms and 70 cms around the legs that will hold you in place. This is imperative because if the harness doesn’t fit you or a child, you will not be allowed on it. So before purchasing tickets, make sure you meet these requirements.

Among the five adventure activities that are available in Xplor Park, the cavern walks are a wonderful experience. These caves are mostly naturally formed and dot the landscape. They even extend into the underground and make for some great spots to swim, explore, and enjoy. This will easily take you about 20-30 minutes, so be sure to immerse yourself in it and take time with each new spot you discover.

With the Xplor Park is designed and built around a naturally occurring cenote, the place is a treasure trove of caves. You will need to walk through these caves to reach your attractions, so you will need to head to the very center of these vast caverns. It’s called the Corazon, and there is a giant sculpture of a heart right in the center giving you a sense of direction. Corazon literally means heart, so it’s an apt marker to show you where you are going. Walking through these caverns is a delightful experience as it’s quiet and a very refreshing thing to do. With maps, staff, and signs that tell you the wait time for each attraction, the Xplor cave experience is something to look out for.

What could be better than Xplor’s zip lines? The hammock splash of course! Compared to the rest of the activities’ half an hour duration, this experience will get done in a matter of minutes. However, those minutes would be the most exhilarating few minutes of your visit to this fun-filled park. In the zip line activity, you are provided with a harness that has strict regulations, but it’s replaced with a hammock in the hammock splash ride. The seat is customized to provide you with a twin-seat resembling a large hammock and is designed in a manner to maximize the final splash into the water. It’s not as tall as the zip line towers for obvious reasons but is enough to exact screams of glee from anyone who tries it.

The icing on the cake is, of course, the number of times you can avail this experience. With two rides in quick succession, the hammock splash is by far the most fun thing you can do with your family. It’s very safe, and perfect to entertain any kids in your group. You can even find a tiny clearing where there are hammocks installed that you can use to relax after a particularly exciting splash. Warm yourself by the roaring fire before going into the changing rooms to get ready for your next Xplor adventure.

Remember the joy you feel when riding bumper cars? Well, the amphibious vehicles of Xplor are another story altogether. With oodles of fun and excitement, riding an amphibious vehicle is something that you absolutely must try while at the park. You might not find it very exciting if you are adult as the experience is akin to an ATV, but if you have kids, then just release them into the enclosure for a few hours. Be sure to accompany them as they aren’t allowed to drive under the age of 18. The park has cut out several trails in and around the region, circling and turning around other attractions. It’s a dirt trail so you can appreciate the power and magnificence of an amphibious craft. With it, you can even cut across the water which makes for excellent fun-filled shortcuts.

As if the dirt trails weren’t enough, you can even drive these machines into the numerous underground which we have talked so much about. Yes, the vehicle is robust enough to go over the underground water and manages the kilometer-long stretch effortlessly. As the drive is only about a kilometer, you might need to give your partner a chance to drive before the activity comes to an end. You can even get to the vehicles from the central point of the underground cave network by just walking up to the big heart sculpture mentioned above.

For a park this size, the service provided for the safety of our belongings is top-notch. Unlike most water parks where it seems that you need a hazmat protection suit to enter the restrooms, the changing rooms in Xplor are very hygienic and safe. There is also no need to make other arrangements as the staff will provide you with a wrist band and a key to your own personal locker at the entrance itself. The waistband ensures that you don’t need to remember any code, which makes it brilliant if traveling with young children.

Apart from the excellent drainage systems and cleanliness of restrooms, there are a lot of other services that are offered at Xplor. Unlike Xcaten where you will need to purchase everything other than the ticket inside the park, Xplor has a lot of free services like drinking water and showers. The other facilities include some restaurants that serve some delicious food and helpful staff spread across the park to help you find your way if lost. Don’t forget to head to the El Troglodita restaurant that serves up some healthy, fresh, and high-quality food. While you can refuel here, the health nut in you might like to visit Oasis and Manantial as well. This restaurant is famous for providing park visitors with natural juices and smoothies. However, these are served mainly in the day while the beverages switch to coffees and espressos during the night. The central point of the underground cave network, Corazon, is also lush with shops selling fruit juices to help you hydrate while you plan for the next experience.

After reading about all the activities that you can do over at Xplor, you might be thinking that it’s not the place for a solo traveler. You couldn’t be more wrong as the park is perfect for all ages and all groups, including solo. Every one of the 6 activities you can do here can be done solo, and you will probably be paired with someone else. There is no dearth of visitors and there will be someone in the queue who is traveling alone as well. The seats and rides are all customized to fit just one and there is no need to have particular weight for the rides, except for the zip lines.

With restaurants, restrooms, and helpful staff, you will never get the feeling that you are not part of a large group. So go ahead and pack your bags!

If you are a vegetarian and wondering if there will be non-meaty options, then you don’t have to worry at all. With the vast number of tourists who visit Xplor every day, a lot of them are vegetarians. The park management has seen to it that the buffet areas and all restaurants have a plethora of vegetarian options which are absolutely delicious.

Believe it or not, all the water for consumption is purified naturally giving them a hint of hibiscus, lemon-cucumber, melon, and green tea. Enjoy six different salads, namely the Caesar, Antique (made from pasta), the Delicatessen (has coconut) and the Troglodyte. If you are someone who can’t call a lunch complete without a salad, then be sure to visit the buffet. There are also baked potatoes, corn with mayo, fries, corn souffle, cheese bars, and nuts on the spread so dig in!

Due to the many activities and adventures, Xplor Cancun is visited by thousands of people every day. With only a limited number of seats available on rides and experiences, you might need to wait in a queue for a long time. To avoid standing there to purchase tickets, the best way is to get them online before you visit. A normal park ticket exclusive of food and beverages will cost you around USD $129, while with food and drink, it’s USD $159. While the park ticket will entail you to enter at 9 AM, the higher-priced ticket will get you entry from 7 AM in the morning. So if you are looking to try out all six activities without wanting to stand in queues, then go for the latter one. Although priced a bit higher, it’s absolutely worth it.

You can also book pick-up and drop from and to your hotel so make sure to book it while confirming your ticket. Remember that the tickets you purchase will get you entry, access to the all-day buffet, use of lockers, and unlimited fruit, hot chocolate, and non-alcoholic beverages.

There you go! All that you need to know before planning your trip to Xplor Cancun.
