Chongzhu International Cultural Festival | Naha
Celebration
The 2026 Okinawa International Culture Festival, organized by the Okinawa International Culture Festival Executive Committee, is an island-wide festival held on April 25th and 26th, 2026, near Kokusai Street in Naha City. This year, several important works linking the desire for peace with the future have been invited, such as the popular films *Treasure Island* and *The Army in the Trees*, both set in Okinawa. JFFLA, held in Los Angeles, USA since 2003, is an international film festival showcasing a variety of Japanese films, including the latest releases and independent works, and promoting Japanese culture to the world through exchanges with directors and actors. This festival aims to foster connections between Okinawan film culture and the world by screening such internationally renowned films. In addition to films, music, and art, the festival will significantly expand its content beyond last year. It will collaborate with cultural ambassadors from Okinawa's 41 municipalities to create a new type of cultural festival that both local residents and tourists can enjoy.
