Taipei 101 – Formerly known as the Taipei World Financial Center, this massive skyscraper was the tallest building in the world till 2010 when it was overtaken by Burj Khalifa in Dubai. It’s a unique experience to travel in its high-speed elevators that are capable to take you up at the speed of 60.6 km and can reach the top floors in less than one minute. It is also the largest certified green building in the world. Have an evening dinner in one of the many restaurants there are located here and view the city from the clouds from one of the indoor or outdoor observatories.

National Palace Museum – If you are interested in art & culture, the National Palace Museum is the ideal place for you to spend some time. It has a collection of more than 700,000 artifacts including artwork of Chinese imperial times making it one of the largest of its kind in the world. It showcases 8000 years of Chinese history with a focus on Ming and Qing dynasties.

Chiang Kai-Shek Memorial Hall – This is a beautiful memorial hall that was built in the memory of Chiang Kai-shek, the former President of the Republic of China. It is surrounded by green parks that make an ideal getaway for a peaceful evening. Nearby is the National Theater and Concert Hall.

Besides these, there are other places and parks that you can spend your time visiting in the city. These include Yangmingshan National Park, Lungshan Temple, and Xiangshan.

Officially, Taipei is multilingual, however, Mandarin is the language that is primarily used here for education & business. It is spoken by the majority of the population in the city.
