We booked this hotel based on the reviews we saw on trip.com as there aren’t many reviews for Xijiang Miao Village that we wanted to go to. Unfortunately it was a big mistake. Although we requested to have our room be near our kids room, the hotel put us on floor 3 and floor 5. That doesn’t sound so bad until you realize that floor 5 is actually in a different building that you need to go outside to get to and that it is actually lower than floor 1. The hotel is built on a hillside. The sound proofing is atrocious in floor 5 which is actually in a newer building. There was live music from a bar several streets away until 11:30 pm and we could hear everything with the balcony doors and windows closed. Lastly, although it is fairly new, the construction is sloppy and I think it will age quickly over the next several years.
