Had a wonderful time, stayed at the Harbor Marina, for the most part everything was excellent. My only complaint is that our room was not refreshed and had to ask the front desk to make sure it was done, also a puddle in room from AC, but once reported it was immediately fixed. The Fish House just incredible, $1 oysters on Tuesday! The Scallops and risotto out of this world and cornbread in a skillet best I have ever had! And loved Johnny at the Bridge Bar, super friendly, nice, fun and great great service. Great drinks and just great atmosphere. One suggestion would be nice to have 1 early time daily for shuttle not having a shuttle until 2pm everyday had to take water taxi everyday, just a thought! Can't wait to come back and stay at the Beach club!

Wonderful hotel - have stayed there multiple times over the past 10 years. Service is excellent and room quality is very good. We stay at the across-the-street location. Only complaints were the bag breakfast was not delivered one morning (wish they would go back to the seated breakfasts of the past) and the evening cookies were stale several evenings. The valet parking was very expensive, $49 per night, but the service was excellent. Would not ask for a better location - walking distance to all wonderful restaurants and many museums. Will certainly go back next year.

The rooms are large and well equipped with swimming pool and hot spring. Free coffee is provided in the lobby in the morning and free hot cocoa in the afternoon. It's right next to the aircraft carrier in Yorktown. It takes 2 minutes to walk and the hotel also has a car to pick you up. We just went to the aircraft carrier, but we did n’t expect the hotel was next to the aircraft carrier.

We stayed for five nights in a room with a balcony that faced north. The room was spacious with a nice wardrobe, desk, small couch and king bed. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom was very nice and the upgraded shower was a nice touch. They also offered turn-down service which was nice to come back to after dinner. The staff were very friendly and offered restaurant recommendations and suggestions on what to see. Valets were quick and helped with luggage. We had breakfast included. Breakfast was small but good. There were one or two hot options, pastries, muffins, fruit etc. along with coffee and juice. I don't need a large breakfast so this was perfect to get the day started. The rooms were quiet despite being in a very active area. The location was great, most attractions and restaurants were within a short walking distance. We could see the harbor from our balcony and watched a cruise ship come in one morning. If I go back to Charleston I would definitely stay here again.

The hotel lobby and garden are very beautiful, with free ice water all day, and the summer is really comfortable. The pool is open until 10 o'clock in the evening. It is a bit small. It feels like playing with water and sunbathing. The conditions are very good, with towels. Booked a twin room suitable for three people's room type and price, but the room is smaller than the imagination, can not sleep three people, had to pay for the room at the front desk. The location is very good and the shopping around the restaurant is very convenient. Parking, 39 dollars a day, valet parking.

Our stay at the Spectator was out standing! We were greeted by our butler Will and the valet to park our car. While checking in we were gifted free cocktails WOW. Our room was lovely, spacious and the balcony nice. After a day of enjoying Charleston we came back to a welcome nightcap left in our room. Our room was cleaned to perfection by Renee each day. We will be back to finish what time didn't allow this trip. T. Kirkland

Staff at the front desk was a bit dismissive and parking costs $20/night. Breakfast not included but there’s a restaurant on site. Pros: - great location, close to attractions, restaurants, shops - Wifi works well - rooms are relatively clean however I found a few hairs here and there - rooms are spacious enough - Check-in is at 4pm officially but our room was ready at 2pm so we could check in - mini fridge in room - the hotel is nicely furnished and decorated - 24-hour fitness center - 2 complimentary bottles of water - Coffee machine in the room Cons: - staff at the front desk could’ve been friendlier - bed too soft and pillows too thick - A/C didn’t work properly—the room was either ice cold or hot

Tanya was amazing and so incredibly welcoming and kind. Sue was a great bartender but what made her stand out was I was talking about my experience at breakfast and said how well the staff was she gave me a card and told me to review the morning staff so people knew what a great experience I had. I loved talking to her and she could make a delicious drink but I loved she was a person who cared about those she worked with!! Jim, the guest ambassador was also a pleasure. Mostly because I didn’t know he was an ambassador until after I asked to sign up for vacation club. The hotel was clean. Great location and staff was amazing.

We saw a number of positive reviews of the Bijou but it was disappointing. First some background: the manager told us that the inn was rather run-down when she took over 2-3 years ago and that she has tried to improve the experience for guests. It appears that she has not been terribly successful. We stayed in the Sweetgrass room, located on the first floor. The inn is hard to categorize. We were looking for a ”Bed and Breakfast” rather than a traditional hotel and Bijou sometimes gets categorized that way but it is unclear whether that is how the inn wants to market itself. That said it's not a traditional hotel either. Our room was relatively small but it was furnished with a king-size bed that did not leave much space for anything else. There was only one chair in the room. The bed was comfortable enough but it is set up with what appears to be a regular box spring and one of the newer-style very deep mattresses covered with a thick topper. The result is a bed that is quite tall. I had no difficulty climbing onto the bed but my wife (5'0”) struggled to do so. We have stayed in other inns with that setup and they typically provide some sort of step to facilitate getting onto the bed but our room did not have anything of that sort. The room A/C was noisy. The doors are not hung properly and can be very difficult to close. Security does not appear to be a priority. The room was clean and everything seemed to work OK otherwise. It did offer free WiFi that performed adequately. The inn does offer a Continental Breakfast though the choices were somewhat limited. On our first morning one of the muffins looked good but it had mold on the bottom, leaving us wondering how fresh some of the pastry items were. The pastry I sampled was dry and seemed stale. The inn is located in the historic district which is nice for tourists, but it is next to one of the carriage ride businesses so there is a definite odor (sometimes overwhelming) of manure that is present on stepping out of the room. The manager is nominally present at the inn during daytime office hours but I do not recall seeing her at all other than on the afternoon we arrived. One of the reasons we enjoy staying at B&B's is the ability to interact with the hosts and other guests. That sort of interaction is not part of the package at the Bijou. There was no common room (other than the tiny space where breakfast items are set out) and rooms open onto an outside walkway. There are a couple of chairs set up in the walkway but the stench from the neighboring carriage business does not create a pleasant ambience for relaxing conversation. Parking is not convenient. There is a rather expensive lot across the street but the less expensive lot that the inn recommends is a couple of blocks away. The result is that the inn is not a very good B&B, but neither is it a real hotel. I don't know how to categorize it. In some ways it felt like one of the cheap motels my family stayed in ba

The representatives were all very friendly and informative. The room was very comfortable and very clean. The pool was very nice but a bit cool due to it’s always in shade between the Hotel and the neighboring building. Complimentary breakfast was a variety. From dry cerial, to hot oatmeal or grits, to waffles to eggs and fried potatoes with peppers. Very Nice. Only one suggestion would be to add a couple of towel holder hooks or racks so to be able to reuse.

Though the hotel itself needed some updating the staff was extremely helpful. I forgot my toiletries bag as well as hair gel. Oliva and Madison at the front desk were able to get me everything I needed quickly. I was in for business meetings so these two saved the day and allowed me to make my meetings on time. They also called into a local restaurant they recommend and were able to secure a reservation for my customers and I on the day of. Everyone enjoyed the recommendation. I will be back thanks to these two and their hospitality. Great location!

We stayed at Liberty Place over this past weekend. Upon arriving to the hotel, we were greeted with Zac at the valet pickup/drop off area. He was very pleasant and helpful. Our paths crossed multiple times over the weekend and he was consistently friendly. He is a wonderful representation for hospitality especially since he is the first face you're likely to see. We witnessed another guest who wasn't so happy and seemed to take it out on Zac (which he did nothing wrong). He was kind, courteous, and just let it roll off his back. When my car service didn't show to take us to the airport he assisted us in finding alternative transportation. He really is an asset to this hotel.
