We left the Tanah Lot temple around 5:30-6 and reached here around 10pm, driving non-stop, so hungry at the time we arrived, asked the ower if the kitchen stil open to make us something to eat, the owner happily replied sure… i loved this place, i booked it right away the first time i see it, the experience to sleep here is amazing and very adventurous… my private taxi driver loved it, so are we, the food is amazing, the bed is compfy, have private toilet for your tent…

We stayed at Gaja Mina Resort Balian, in late June 2023. The place was underwhelming. The setting in a large rambling garden is quite lovely, with a walk out to the headland with great views but the resort's gardens and buildings are poorly maintained with piles of rotting compost, construction fences, partially cut trees (logs), scattered litter, unemptied rubbish bins, neglected and broken furniture and water features that were dried up or contained stagnant water infested with mosquito lava. My sons room was grim, concrete and basic, think prison cell, ill matched furniture, with a toilet that regurgitated what went into it (disgusting), a shower that only had cold water and gave you an electric shock when you used it. My room although quite charming in a traditional but dilapidated way had a family of cockroaches in the bedside table, most of the window stays and catches were broken. Without a shower screen or curtain, use the shower and wash the floor at the same time. Annoying and mould making. The lighting was so poor you could not read in the room. In the tropics its nice to sleep with fresh air under a mosquito net (yes there is malaria in Bali), but lack of flyscreens and only a duvet means you have to sleep with ac cold enough to justify a duvet. That’s energy efficient. NOT. There is a pool area with a bar. The bar was always closed and there was no staff to provide drinks (even in the restaurant next to it), so we got them from a local shop about 10 minutes walk away. The pool had mold all around the edge. I suspect they did not use chlorine in it. There was not enough umbrellas if more than two families were there. The restaurant food is ordinary and very expensive; the internal dining room smelt of stale food and damp. Everyone I saw requested salt and pepper to make the food edible, including on their pizzas. My prawns were only just edible, suffering greatly from blandness. The fresh coconut juice directly from a coconut tasted of water not coconut. When I brought it up with the staff he dismissed my concern. The restaurant was also the most expensive in Balian. Considering the waiters did not come to the tables to take orders, barely moved and provided the most meagre level of surly service, the 10% restaurant service charge included on the bill at the end was a complete mystery. Although our tariff noted that included return transfers to the airport, they wanted me to pay for it. 24 hours prior to leaving I provided my voucher to reception but they insisted I contact the resort Owner to sort it out. She did not answer my calls or texts; finally an hour before departure her only response was that she was in a meeting. She is a disgrace. This place is wildly over-priced, horribly neglected and staffed by the most unhappy people I met in Bali. Even the airport security staff were friendlier. It could be so much more.

We stayed at Yama for a yoga retreat. They have their own yoga space, and the rooms were very clean and minimalist. The staff was so helpful and friendly. They absolutely made the stay even more memorable! Our food the entire stay was vegan, and being someone who ISN’T vegan, I can say that the food was awesome. I only wish I could eat like this back home. One thing to note is how far this place is from the airport. It is quite a distance! But it’s absolutely worth coming back to.

We have had a great stay here, and Gus is a great host who goes to the end to make his guests enjoy a great stay. The team he has around is working all day on making everything clean and comfortable. If sheets are on the ground, sheets are wiped, mattresses are needed for the beds are adjusted at the minute. You have to ask, our villa was unwisely clean and was as expected, the shower is also good, your room is cleaned at your request, through a plate. The villa was close to the street but there are earphones available in the room, which makes us sleep nicely. My friend was the t**** evening that we stayed here for the anniversary and I wanted to surprise her. A app to Gus was enough, he knew what he was doing right away and within 10 minutes we were discussing a menu. As agreed, he provided a dinner at candlelight next to the swimming pool with breathtaking decoration. This was really over expectation. We were even served at the pool by a warning staff who also provided the menu/dining. In general, this accommodation is a thick adviser!

I loved staying at Dini Guesthouse while I was in Canggu for 10 days. The property is amazing, the pool is perfect and the room was great. Everything was so clean and the service was amazing. Everyone was kind and helpful. The onsite restaurant had really good food and it was affordable. The location is perfect and is just next to the Outpost Coworking Space and not too far from the Tropical Nomad Coworking space (5 min. scooter ride). It is also close to a lot of restaurants and just in front of a small supermarket. In my opinion, the quality for the price is incredible. I would stay there again for sure.

We enjoyed our time in the Prana Mountain resort quite a lot and appreciate the hospitality and friendliness of the staff. The garden and surrounding of the resort is remarkable in the middle of the nature and invites to take hikes in rice terraces or the rain forest far away from the typical tourist spots on Bali. The resort is build on old rice terrace and the garden is beautiful and natural. The pool with fresh water without chemicals is a nice highlight after a hike. We stayed for three nights with the children and could get well along. The restaurant is also nice and serves good delicious food throughout the day. A few things could be improved: - the cleanliness in the rooms could be improved, also the bedding cleanliness - the mosquito protection around the beds is getting old and could be replaced or repaired - a hair dryer in the rooms would have been nice

We stayed in The Kirana Ungasan for a week at Bungalow with amazing pool view. We really enjoyed the silence and staff was always ready to help you. We get our scooter, laundry and even massage under our bungalow here. Would recommend scooter rent for exploring Uluwatu area (Do not rent if you don’t have experience driving a scooter or you’re too scared of traffic!!!) There is lot of shops and restaurants near by. Is a nice backpackers place to stay for someone looking for an over night or a couple of days. It’s a nice place but there are a few things I didn’t care about there I guess for the price it’s a bargain But at this time no restaurant open here I guess due to covid . Free coffee all the time and water availability down stairs. Shower is nice and hot , the AC cold and the bed is pretty comfortable. Is located in a residential area and has stairs and no elevator. 3 floors. For the price it’s clean and neat room to stay with a pool.

Absolutely beautiful hotel. The largest, most impressive place we've ever stayed in. The level of service and care was far beyond what we could have imagined. Pools and beach are excellent. We visited some other areas and the beaches were quite dirty and not pleasant at all, so we really appreciated how well maintained ours was. Our only complaints (purely so they could improve that last %10) would be: A few areas were quite dirty. Felt a bit like they think no one would look there, so why bother The spa was very nice, especially the design, but felt quite rushed and not as attentive as it could be. We also arranged for the outdoor bath at the end of the massage, but it wasn't very pleasant due to the state of the bathtub itself. Food is OK. Definitely in no way bad at all. But just OK. Our room had an annoying door to link 2 rooms together, which is very outdated and quite annoying as there is basically an open hole between the rooms. Our neighbours were very noisy and we could hear everything including their screaming kids. You will also hear everything upstairs, including the house keeping carts going down the hallways. Not quite sure why, but it was definitely quite noisy unfortunately. Overall though, a very very nice hotel and highly recommended. And again, the staff were amazing.

Sometimes you find a hotel or resort that immediately makes you feel calm, relaxed, and grateful you've booked the right place. Bagus Beach Resort is definitely in this category. From the moment I stepped into the vast grounds resplendent with old Bali charm, I knew it was going to feel like home very quickly. I was immediately greeted by the resort manager, Pak Widi, who is extremely friendly and exceedingly knowledgeable about the region's attractions and history, as well as about Balinese culture. Make sure you spend some time talking to him, he's a really lovely guy! The resort itself perfectly captures the mood of North Bali tourism: peaceful, relaxed, slower-paced, it's a bit like stepping back in time to 20 years ago, when travelers stayed for about a month, learnt some Indonesian and Balinese, whiled away the days reading books and walking, and just growing to really love and respect the place. The room I stayed in couldn't have been cozier, and was spotlessly clean. The breakfast prepared by Pak Widi's beautiful wife, Ibu Jero Made, was absolutely delicious - she makes the island's best 'jaje Bali' - traditional sweets. She's extremely talented, and a very kind soul. Bali's tourism industry will be suffering from the impact of Covid-19 for a long time to come, and the more remote parts of the island especially so. If you want to really make your rupiah count, skip the south and head up to the north. You'll be rewarded in spectacular sunsets and grateful smiles for doing so! A mixed bag. On the plus side the bamboo construction and furniture in a huge room really give it a Bali feel - which you won't get from any of the modern hotels springing up. At the same time the proximity to (two!) pools, comfy living/bar area and laid back furniture really make you feel like you rented a villa not a hotel room. On the down side, they have largely lost their rice paddy views (massive construction in front), there are a lot of mosquitoes (even in the room) and the place is showing its age a bit. In particular (and contrary to other reviewers) I was disappointed with the food - pizza was horrible, Indonesian chicken curry was a watery soup and eggs benedict had no Hollandaise sauce and chewy bacon (though that is a Bali problem not specific to Bloomfields). To finish on a high note - this is a great location - easy reach of the short cut to Canggu, right in Umulas and a good base to strike out to Ubud etc.

The hotel is in an extremely central location in Kuta Bali ( popies 1 ).The rate was $13 Australian with a basic room and good aircon, lovely bed, tv , wardrobe and bathroom. It’s not high class at all but the room seamed newly painted and the bathroom was a little aged. They have a pool and everyone was very friendly. There is a small kitchen in the reception area where you can make your own coffee or food. There is a very good bar on the corner as you walk into the hotel with large Bintang $3.50 aus and nasi gorang $2.50 aus. At first we were not impressed but warmed to the place decided to add three extra night here. Can’t complain about $65 aus for 5 nights.

Awesome Hotel to stay with the family… Very spacious rooms and suitable for the family. Overall hotel is the great to be if you are visiting bali. Only improvement point - it has very limited menu and portions of food is also limited. Breakfast menu is som limited that my wife avoided eating at the place. Hotel should improve on the menu list and portion of the food.
