Hotel location is very good! Almost all the attractions can be reached by walking. Passing a bridge is the famous red light district The hotel is very cautious from the welcome drink. My husband and I don’t drink alcoholic beverages. They give us non-alcoholic champagne. After the check-in, we also give the L’Occitane gift bag. The weather in Amsterdam makes us go out very bad. Convenient, the hotel will also provide a very creative disposable raincoat, the raincoat is placed inside a white ball, the ball can be hung on the carry-on bag, the girl with big eyes and short hair at the front desk is particularly warm and friendly, forgetting to ask her The name, the hotel's breakfast should be considered semi-self-service, offer some options, although we stayed for 10 days, will eat some meals, but still not tired, the dishes are very delicate and delicious, two Benedict eggs always eat Not enough, there is a smoking room on the first floor of the hotel. My husband will take a cigarette every morning to come over for breakfast. The tall, tall man with a big NICE will put his husband’s coffee in advance to the smoking room. He, and the drink I ordered, he remembered it the next day. After sitting at the table every morning, I don’t need to say that I will have a glass of orange juice and a cup of English. A meal of tea! The room design is also very user-friendly, the activity space is large, the fruit is rich and delicious, the chocolate is special, all the soft drinks in the refrigerator are provided free of charge, the capsule coffee machine has three flavors per day, the bathroom can be separated from wet and dry, and the room is dehumidified. The system is particularly good, even in the continuous rainy days, the house will not feel the tide, the cleaning supplies provided in the bathroom are all L'Occitane, the bathing equipment has a large water flow. . . All in all a very good hotel, everyone is very friendly. The hotel also provided us with a free drop-off on the last day. If you go to Amsterdam next time, you should consider staying at the hotel again!

Given the reviews, I was not keen to stay here, but thanks to Ajax v Napoli there were no others available. To sum up, this isn't a 5 star hotel by any stretch of the imagination. It is a 3 star hotel. Positives: - Location is superb - Architecturally stunning building - Large room (in my case, at least) - WiFi speeds are good. I was able to do video meetings from my room - Staff were pleasant and friendly Negatives: - Inside, the hotel is dark and in a state of disrepair - The kitchen closes early, and room service appears to not be possible. I was told that I should download Uber Eats if I wanted food after 10pm. - The room is tidy, but basic areas like around the sinks, bath, windows and TV were dirty - There is a smell of sewage that comes from the shower drain - The majority of channels on the TV are unavailable - There is no air conditioning. I had 2 tower fans in my room, and I had to use them both just to stay cool - No help with luggage, not that I couldn't manage myself - You get a bottle of water on the table when you check in. I had some the first night because it was so hot in the room. The second night when I was working late, I turned to open my fresh bottle. Nope! Same half empty bottle, had just been moved back to the table again. This is supposed to be a 5 star hotel! Stay somewhere else. A few weeks earlier, I stayed in the Sofitel Legend. THAT is a 5 star hotel.

Hotel Okura Amsterdam – the Leading Hotels of the World

Amsterdam Oud Zuid Amsterdam|1.68km from Poorter
We decided to splurge on this 5 star hotel for a long anticipated family reunion. Unfortunately the experience was marred by a series of disappointments caused by utterly incompetent hotel staff. When I called ahead on the day of our arrival to request an early check-in the hotel rep. sternly informed me that I would have to pay a 120 Euro charge for the privilege! We are experienced travelers and never have we encountered such a demand. We took our chances regardless and decided to show up 2 hours early. Sure enough, our room was already ready and we were allowed to occupy it at no extra charge. Things really started to go south when a limousine that I had arranged for separate airport pickup of my daughter’s family through the concierge showed up at the airport unequipped with a baby car seat. I had expressly requested this when I booked the service. This was also specified in the booking confirmation sent by email to me by the concierge. The reaction I later got when I complained to the concierge was that I was not charged extra for the baby seat - as if this was the main issue! Furthermore, this was the first time that I was informed of such a charge, as no mention of this had been made in the email confirmation of the limo reservation which I originally received from the concierge. More importantly, what is more concerning is the utter indifference he showed for the safety of a guest’s infant grandchild. All that concerned him was the money angle to the failure. Things soon got worse. When we checked into our room we lifted the bed cover to discover several hairs and multiple red and yellow stains. Unbelievably, the chambermaid had neglected to change the bedsheets. This, in a 5 star hotel! After we called reception, staff was quickly sent to our room to change them. We never heard further from management about this. We later had dinner at Serre restaurant onsite and left the place hungry. The chef seems to focus on presentation and less on the reasonableness of the portions. My wife had a fish main course which was equivalent to 3 forkfuls. The minuscule dessert was pretty to look at but was grossly inadequate even for one person. The restaurant style is a throwback to the old Nouvelle Cuisine school. For the icing on the cake: a voucher for a round of drinks on the house at the rooftop bar that the guest services manager had kindly given me was bungled by the bar staff. When I arrived home I discovered a mysterious charge of 66 Euros by the Twenty-Third Floor Bar. The bar staff set new standards of incompetence in taking my voucher and charging me anyway.I had to call the hotel for credit but I am losing money anyway from the spread in exchange rates used by credit card companies. To be fair, the Superior View room was extremely spacious and comfortable with a magnificent view. The large pool and ample spa facilities were enjoyable and a significant convenience . Also the reception desk personnel were very professional and welco

I had beg bugs in room 205. It took me a while to realise this as I didn't expect it at all! And because I was very busy and distracted with a work conference, and initially thought they were gnat bites or something. But after every night I'd have more bites on my hands, shoulders, arms and back. On the 4th day I reported this, and this is the point where I can either excuse the hotel as one of those rare events, or make you guys aware of a negligent place. Unfortunately, I'm going for the latter. They initially dismissed it it as just mosquito bites. So I explained that I've been bitten by both, and this was clearly bedbugs. I also pointed out that there were doctors in my conference who confirmed it was bedbugs. They then provisionally offered me a day's refund, which they later retracted. I asked for them to change my room. They refused. I didn't have the time, especially with the conference ongoing, to change hotels. I at least asked for bags to seal up my clothes so I didn't carry the bedbugs home, or  they wouldn't spread when I got home. They didn't even provide this! On the last day, I thought they would give me a refund for most of my 6 day stay, given it had been miserable, with a lot of pain and itching (I had about 30 bites by this point). They refused to give me any refund, but said they'd be in touch with me 3 days later to update me on the exterminator results, and possibly refund me then. They never contacted me. I feel very sorry for the next person who has room 205, and hope they don't take too long to deal with this. I'm happy to provide photo proof of the various bites I received so you can judge for yourself (though I'm certain it was bedbugs). Aside from this, the room was very run down and stained (see photos), with a light that half worked, and a bed board that had come loose. And the wifi kept failing. The worst place I've visited for over 100 Euros a night.

Very beautiful and modern interior design with strong attention to details. Walls are in this gorgeous deep green decorated with gold/natural wood furniture and fixtures. The blackout curtains are a huge plus for a good night’s sleep and they maximised their bathrooms by splicing out the shower and the toilet! Comfy stay and lovely staff. Highly recommend and will book again in the future

Amsterdam Oud Zuid
It's a small hotel with small rooms, which is something to be expected in Amsterdam in the lower price range. The bathroom sink was located outside the bathroom which was odd, and the bathroom door is a wobbly shower door. It didn't really bother me though. I was happy to find a reasonsbly priced room inside the city. The hotel is located in the city, in a calmer area, which is nice. 5 min walk and you're in the vibrant busy streets chock-full of restaurants, shops and people hanging around. 15 minutes walk and you're basically in the very center of the city. There's also a Lidl right outside the door in case you don't want to eat every meal at a restaurant. The bed is rather hard, which I find comfy, with great pillows, and the room features an old style tired hair dries, which I appreciate. Modern one would be better, but at least it's there. On the negative side, I'd say there was no fridge, so we couldn't store food, except dry food, which takes away some of the convenience with the close by lidl. There was a lack of clothes storage. Only a couple of hangers and some hooks. The light switches were sort of randomly mapped and the lights didn't have the most welcoming hue. Also if I'd visit the bathroom in the night and turn on the light it would also turn on the blinding cold hallway light waking up anybody sleeping. Lastly, I don't care for AC, but a fan would have been nice in the heat. At least there was a large window that I could use to ventilate and curtains that completely blocked all light hitting them. All in all, a decent stay on a hotel in a great area. Some rough edges, so if you don't like that maybe it's not for you. But if you're mainly gonna be out exploring the city I'd say it doesn't really matter. Right, one last thing. The hotel must be used to annoying tourists because here and there are signs thay forbid alcohol and smoking in the rooms. Aledgedly a 300€ fine is given to the person drinking in the room. It doesn't give the most welcome feeling. However the staff were nice.
Citizenm Amstel Amsterdam

This was our second stay in a CitizenM property (first was in Los Angeles). The company definitely does a terrific job in maintaining a consistent experience, staff attitude and room design. We loved the location-- just down the block from a Metro station. So you can be to and from city sights and airport fast. This chain is for people who are happy with straightforward accommodations and don't need lots of handholding. (If Marriotts are your thing, this might not be for you.) Bed is comfortable and room design is pretty efficient. My only advice for improvement would be if they'd place a power outlet on both sides of the bed.

InterContinental Amstel Amsterdam
4.2/564 Reviews
We are staying at the Intercontinental hotels as our main hotel and have been most impressed. Our stay at the Amstel was so pleasant! The staff was absolutely amazing, every person we encounter was so helpful and kind. It is impossible to single out anyone as each team member was great. We ate at the hotel all of our meals except one and the food and service were perfect. We were so grateful that although the afternoon tea was full they were able to accommodate us in another beautiful location where our view was spectacular. We are in hotels 150 nights a year and our experience at the Amstel was one of the very best. The staff members were such nice quality people. They thanked us for allowing them to provide assistance to us. We were so humbled by the generosity of the hotel staff. While dining everyone pitches in and help one another and whatever we could want was provided immediately. Thank you very much with complete sincerity and gratitude. The management should be commended for encouraging such terrific service. We look forward to our next visit to Amsterdam and staying at the Amstel.
