This hotel looks so promising from the road. We booked based on the great price. But the old adage you get what you pay for definitely holds true here. We were rooting for this hotel. We really wanted to enjoy it, especially after getting the sob story about how I-35 construction and then the pandemic almost destroyed their business. But that said, there is only so much you can overlook. When we got into our room, the window unit had cardboard on the side of it, and it wasn't even attached. There were lots of little things that needed repair but again we tried to overlook it because part of the sob story was that during the pandemic they had to do short-term rentals which means less than desirable clientele came in and created a lot of the damage. We noticed the other window of our hotel wouldn't even shut completely, and I am attaching a picture I've said window. Again, we just tried to go along and get along, and we put a towel in front of it because we were not at ground level. But the straw that broke the camel's back and led to this review was the fact that we walked past the workout facility and there were all kinds of personal effects on the ground including underwear and women's hygiene products. We reported this to the front desk as we were leaving for the day. When we came back to the hotel 8 hours later the items were still there only there were new and different ones. Considering the less than desirable people we saw hanging around, it seems safe to say that potentially a lady of the night was entertaining in there. And hotel staff obviously knew about it and / or cared so little that they didn't even clean it up when we told them about it. I'm also including pictures of the workout room. The only reason I gave the hotel two stars and not one was the cheap price. But when you factor in the fact that even my husband said he didn't feel completely safe there and Men usually discount a lot of the fears that us ladies will have, when you consider safety I should have given it a one.

Aiden by Best Western @ Austin City Hotel

We booked this last minute for a night in Austin. This was about $50+ more expensive than another Best Western in Austin about 6 miles away but saw the great reviews and was in good proximity to SOCO. Check-in was quick and easy. We were told there were no king beds so we took the two singles (which we get as it being last minute). The room was quirky and fun as far as decor goes. The room was clean. The water pressure was pretty low in our room. Shower flow was ok but pressure sub-par. We also had to flush the toilet twice in order for it to flush anything down. Not all of the doors leading to courtyard rooms required key use (even though it had the card reader) so people without a room key could walk into the area by our room. Not sure if the door locks were broken or just not armed. The gardeners started working in courtyard right by our room at a little after 7am and you could hear blowers and/or trimmers. This was annoying as we are on vacation and would have liked to have the option to sleep in. We got up and checked out. We took the grab and go breakfast as opposed to having hot breakfast. I cannot comment on how the breakfast is but I am sure it is good as Best Western usually has a pretty decent breakfast. The grab and go was an apple, small water and granola bar and the date on the sticker was from 2 days prior. I would not stay here again, there are better options in the area that are less expensive.

I always stay at this residence inn whenever I have to come for business travel. I'm usually on travel for about a week at a time and this property has everything I need. Whether it's free breakfast, a kitchenette with ability to cook food, a gym, laundry facilities and easy access to I-35. When I checked in I had a few issues with missing items in the room and maintenance, but that was quickly addressed by Sean at the front desk. He was wonderful, professional and timely about getting my issues resolved. Residence Inn Austin South will be my go to on my work trips!

Jackie radiated warmth and professional courtesy. She treated not only the guest, but her fellow employees with kindness and a positive pleasant attitude. She wished us good morning and smiled. She asked how she could make my day better. Jackie also treated her fellow employees with the same demeanor. What a shining jewel and asset she is to this hotel. Because of Jackie, I will be coming back to Austin and have picked this exact same hotel, because of her leader ship skills and her ability to make the guest. Feel welcome and almost at home. She is above a 10+ employee. She deserves a huge raise and benefits for keeping this hotel going. The other employees at the front desk should watch and learn from Jackie.

Stayed here for a few nights when in town for a wedding. Was very impressed with the hotel considering the rate (especially compared to what hotels in the city were going for). Room was spacious and clean (and renovated) and the staff was well organized and friendly at check-in. Parking was free and it was only a 12-15 dollar uber into the city (most downtown hotels charge a crazy amount for parking). There was no continental breakfast, but they offered a few free items in the marketplace (oatmeal, coffee and fruit) which was sufficient for us. Also, use of the laundry area was free (had to buy detergent), but that is a nice perk. Workout room looked nice. There was a brewery behind the hotel and another within a mile (both with food trucks). This hotel looks to be geared towards extended stays (they only do housekeeping once a week and you have to ask for extra towels), but if you understand this going in, it is a great place to stay!

The suite hotel has a very good environment, breakfast is average, no extra beds, suitable for children, there is a swimming pool, the hotel is okay from the airport, 20 minutes by car, parking.

Stinky room and hotel!!! I will never go back to this hotel ever I was not impressed with anything at this hotel and for the price they charge you can get sooooo much better with free food drinks etc, I know cause I stayed at another one 15min away from there! The only thing I can say that was good is it was a very quite hotel, I only stayed one night but during that time it was very quite and the guy did change our rooms immediately because of the smoke smell
