The hotel's location in the Bassac Lane area is fantastic, with a wide variety of restaurants nearby, and it feels very safe to walk around at night. Although the room isn't huge, it's incredibly well-designed and has everything you need, including a great selection of complimentary tea bags. I highly recommend staying here when visiting Bassac Lane.

A must-stay for Bath hotels. It is one of few hotels to have in-house spa facilities for guests to use for free. I liked the location too – it is next to the Roman Baths.

Facilities: Perfect! The shower is spacious with great water pressure, and I was pleasantly surprised to find a heated towel rail in the bathroom, which was a lifesaver for drying clothes. The room also has a mini-fridge with complimentary drinks and biscuits, and a capsule coffee machine (though I don't drink coffee). Overall, it far exceeded my expectations. Cleanliness: Excellent, spotless. Ambiance: British-themed, with truly beautiful decor. From the common areas to the room and the restaurant, every detail is aesthetically pleasing and a delight to the eye. Service: Flawless. I couldn't find the main entrance, and the front desk staff actually came out to meet me. They were thoughtful, enthusiastic, and incredibly accommodating! I would recommend this to anyone visiting Bath.

The Griffin offers comfortable character accommodation with a contemporary twist. We are situated just off Queens Sq. and therefore extremely well located for guests to take advantage of everything the Historic city of Bath has to offer. Our team are very knowledgeable about our beautiful city and happy to help with planning your visit making suggestions for restaurants and assist with any bookings you may require. Our rooms each have a character of their and all feature own shower room, coffee machine and hairdryer together with high quality bathroom accessories, bedding and towels. We do not offer breakfast but there are several local cafés on Kingsmead Square, open from around 7.30am. The Griffin Inn serves food from Midday, brunch on Saturdays and traditional Sunday roasts on each week together with a contemporary food menu offering Proper pub food.

Great hotel and very close to town and train station. Superb staff very polite, respectful and friendly. Breakfast was also good. However it’s usually very busy in the mornings so being a wheelchair user it was very difficult to get a suitable tablet. However one of the staff members did come to my help but it was a little bit late. Non dairy milk was also provided but being self service the wait was quite long and I ended up leaving without any hot drink. The room also didn’t have a window and it was also a bit small to manoeuvre my wheelchair. Bed was comfortable but the air conditioning kept coming on which was not good for my health.

Attended on Tuesday 27th Feb. Paid a little extra for room with a bath as like the couple ****** we are, we wanted a bath in Bath. My wife's first time ever visiting here. The hotel is a lovely setting, there is history here and all the staff have been wonderful. Close to the station, literally in front of it, and close to everything. Had the great pleasure of having many encounters with Tim, one of the reception staff and I believe concierges. Super pleasant and always helpful. We had breakfast included and after having that this morning can honestly say it's bang for your buck, with hot food to order including steak and eggs, (best steak my wife has had in the UK), a breakfast grill and a selection of others plus a typical selection of baked goods and fruits. The bar is pleasant and we enjoyed drinks last night before heading up to our room. Strawberry daiquiri we have had many times but the Amaretto sour was an interesting twist with a strong lemon zest. The only downside to the visit would be the bath/shower experience. Lukewarm bath and cold shower when we attempted it last night. This morning we got hot water for a total of ten mins to share before it went cold again. Not the worst thing all in all but a downside considering the extra pricing for a bathtub room. I was however assured that had I brought it to the desks attention I would have been assisted and I had just done the British thing of not wanting to fuss. One last perk that made an impact to me; free luggage storage. We checked out early so we could make the best of our time exploring Bath before we ride home. We were offered free luggage storage for even after we checked out so we could come back in quick before our train at 3pm and grab our bags and go, no extra charge. Fantastically useful as the Abbey tour does not allow luggage inside and we wanted to go. Anyway, thank you to Tim and all the staff at The Royal for making us feel welcomed and our time there special, we will definitely be coming back someday soon and will stay again. - Liam and Jenny Stephenson, Room 109. Traditional local homestays, friends who want to experience British style can try. The front desk brother is very warm, there are maps and promotional pages at the entrance, the room is fully equipped, and coffee and biscuits are also provided. The downside is that the bed is too small ╮ (╯▽╰) ╭ My 1.68 normal height, my feet basically stick out, it is difficult to turn over and fall out of the bed 😂 Other cost-effective is very high!

The hotel all in all is very good. Clean, polite staff and location is perfect. Parking will have to be in the public parking around the corner which is about £20 for a day. Online it said the hotel offers halal food but once we got there they said they aren't sure they do it. The staff also informed us that we wouldn't be able to eat at the restaurant that day because they were booked for a function, but we feel this should've been communicated beforehand by email etc. Other than this I think this hotel is the best in the area and is very classy and welcoming.

Central location helps to overcome the cramped feeling staying in the annexe. The car was parked at the other end of town and drop off was difficult to say the least but it is what it is. I had no reason whatsoever to check out the main building reception, breakfast area perhaps a bar and lounge area too because nothing pointed me there! So generally, it was a room in a loft space built to an ”average” measure. I never like shower cubicles where I tend to bang elbows and worry about breaking something when I drop the soap. Breakfast price was horrendous so no inclination to walk in on the hop to check it out for the 2 nights stayed. I felt detached, cramped and in a bed-sit like accommodation. It is what it is.
