Disney's Contemporary Resort

Disneyland Resort
We just returned from our trip and LOVED THE CONTEMPORARY! We have been to both DisneyLand (Grand Californian and Paradise Pier) and DisneyWorld (Caribbean Beach and the Cabins at Fort Wilderness) before, and this is now my new favorite. I read some other reviews discussing that the theming was not as strong here, but I honestly think it's perfect. I think everyone has ”a hotel” that is theirs for one reason or another, and this one is just ours. The room is incredibly clean, simple, and for that it allows us to RELAX during our breaks. We go early and stay late, so we always take breaks in the afternoon. And our room was just wonderful to come back to each day. It is easy to get to and from the parks, I LOVE the built in closets because it allows us to fully unpack and stow our suitcases, the bathroom is huge and very comfortable for a family, and most importantly the beds are COMFORTABLE! I am picky due to my neck and slept really well here. My kids thought it was great because there are about 300 plugs to use for electronic charging. We ate at Steakhouse 71 and really enjoyed it. We did eat at a few other monorail hotels to experience them, but I think the Contemporary is just our kind of place and will book more reservations within our own hotel next time. I will absolutely come back not only because of the proximity to MK and the convenience of the monorail, but because the hotel itself was perfection. Our room was clean every day when we came back, the kids enjoyed having all their stuffed animals arranged in a fun manner, and I truly appreciate that the theming was modern and clean so I could mentally relax during our breaks. If you want heavier theming, there are great options on the monorail, but if you- like me- need a little mental break in the middle of the day then I highly recommend the Contemporary. It is clean, nicely sized, comfortable, and most importantly: total access winner for MK, which is where we spent most of our evenings. Thank you so much to the Contemporary staff for all that you do!
Disney's Yacht Club Resort

Our first stay at Yacht Club was a success! We upgraded last minute from the Caribbean because I found a rate that I was comfortable with. I think the prices that Disney gets for these hotels is ridiculous, so I tend to avoid Deluxe. It's the location here that is the big winner. You can walk to Epcot in minutes, and Hollywood Studios in about 15-20 minutes. You also have the option of the boats or the skyliner to Hollywood Studios. We arrived about 9am and were sent a text that our room was ready at 10am. We were already in the parks, so we didn't get back to the resort until evening. We had requested a King and that is exactly what we got, room 3215. Our view from the balcony wasn't so great as it overlooked the rooftop of Steakhouse 71 (I believe) and just a bit of the pool area in the distance. It wasn't a problem, we aren't in the room much, and we aren't on the balcony much as it was cooler this trip. Bed was comfortable. We had housekeeping every day, which we are no longer used to. We had enough towels on the first day to use a clean one each day of our four night stay, but they were refreshed every day. We got some fun towel art which is always a treat to see. There is still the H2O shampoo, conditioner and body wash tubes in the shower. There is also bar soap, mouthwash, shower cap (?) on the vanity. I did notice a LOT of hair on the shower wall the first morning. It kind of freaked me out because it was long, black and at first thought it was spiders out of the corner of my eye. When I pointed it out to my husband, he took the shower wand and washed it away. Problem solved. Didn't have to complain to the front desk, demand to be reimbursed or change rooms. Super friendly staff down in the lobby. Always someone smiling and greeting us as we walked thru. We thought the gift shop was small. Good selection of restaurants between the Yacht and the Beach Club, but we didn't actually dine at any of them this trip. Overall my favorite of the three Boardwalk area resorts. We will keep an eye out for another good deal in the future, but for now our favorite is still Pop Century.

Family and I stayed Oct 7-14, 2022. I was pleased with my room at first. We had a nice room on the main floor, close to all the restaurants and gift shops, with a balcony which is what I had paid for with a very nice view. Friday night, the first night we stayed, there was a massive water leak I believe coming from the ice machine which absolutely ponded the whole wing. All the pounding and workers talking kept up us half the night. We had to move rooms and unfortunately there were no more rooms available with balconies and were stuck with a room with absolutely no view, just a view of the awning over the front door when you come in. Definitely disappointing. Also, new room had a fingernail clipping on the floor, a used tooth flosser in the closet and a lost cough drop under the bed. We were comped $300 for switching rooms and could see fireworks from Magic Kingdom out the window, but still sad we were without a balcony with a view. We noticed the carpets were pretty worn going down the hallways and the A/C was cranked up so high, it felt like Antarctica walking down the hall. There are quite a few choices for food, but we found most of it to be mediocre and had better experiences off Disney. Shula's Steakhouse and the BlueZoo restaurant require reservations and have a dress code. We did enjoy the ice cream at the Fountain, however. There was also a fee for parking and getting to the parking lot was quite a trek. It would be excruciating for someone in a wheelchair or had problems walking. We had rented a car and bought a few groceries for the room and had to wheel them in a suitcase, it was that far of a walk. The hotel was extremely huge and very confusing. Since we had to move rooms to the 7th floor, I found myself getting lost every time I left the room. If you're looking for a hotel close to the parks, it was easy to get to Magic Kingdom and Epcot, as you could ride the water taxi or walk, and also close to the Skyliner. The walkway from the Dolphin to the Swan was pretty at night when it was lit up. In conclusion, I would not stay at this hotel again or recommend it to anyone. I feel there are a lot nicer places to stay in the Disney realm. Last year in 2021, we stayed at the Animal Kingdom Lodge and had a way better experience. Other members of my family stayed across the pond at the Yacht Club and now I wish I would have spent the extra money to stay there - it was a lot nicer and cleaner than the Dolphin.

I don’t understand these bad reviews. I think we had room 2532. No frills, view of the trees with balcony. Fine by me! The room was clean! 2 Queens and pull out comfortable twin bed. The cleaning service was fantastic and friendly! Bell service friendly and helpful! And here is the BEST part of this building - steps to Epcot. I won’t stay anywhere else again!!!! The Marketplace was very clean and stocked and the service was great! Plenty of seating if you want to have a sandwich. Beaches and Cream is a must do. The quick service ice cream area is wonderful. Everything is clean and fast service! The pool service great too. Clean! The employees who greet you are very nice. Maybe i haven’t been as fortunate as others to go as many times to compare but I have to tell anyone looking at this hotel give it a try because you might be like me, grateful to be able to afford a stay here and you won’t be disappointed. We went to Epcot round and round and round and a boat to HWS a couple of times. We just never stopped we loved it. It’s truly magical and so don’t sweat these bad reviews, make the most of it and enjoy it. We walked over to Yacht Club for lunch too. Their Marketplace is nice too much larger but the hotel itself is much different if you like that style go for it. It’s very elegant. It’s Beach Club for me and I thank everyone i came in contact with bc I was very blessed to be there with my family. It was so memorable.
