Very friendly lady on reception, my room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The hotel is close to the beach and the nightlife.

Arrived this afternoon to start our paid for holiday to discover that it no longer exists. ******* are still taking bookings although there is a completely new B&B here with no affiliation to The New Alvon Hotel. After a nightmarish time on the phone to the ******* call centre trying to explain what has happened, they finally booked us a new B&B a couple hundred yards away at their expense. I don't want anybody else going through what we did, just steer clear of this place online. I would like to thank Derek that is the owner of the new B&B that is there. He let us sit in the lounge while we tried to sort it out. His B&B is called My Place and is in the same location on Coronation Street in Blackpool.

Do not stay here at all costs please avoid the hotel needs bulldozing not welcoming guests the whole building stinks from top to bottom the decor is still stuck in the 1920,s the owner looked like he just constantly rolled out his pit and just thinks brushing his hair is good enough for a family establishment the hotel should come with a hygiene warning as the place never gets cleaned the wallpaper is coming off all over the hotel and most walls do not have it on they have signs up saying they are decorating but i think these signs have been there since 1990 at best when me my wife and children checked in on a sat night we were told we could have a late checkout as the man wanted to have a lye in as it was sunday before he got up to make breakfast but due to his appearence and clearly does not wash we got up at 6am and drove home as we couldnt bare to stay in our rooms/hovel any longer let alone have a man who i can only discribe as steptoes long lost brother cook us food dont get me wrong ive slept in some rough places even outside but this is the worst place i have ever stayed and steptoe when his jumper is dirty instead of changing it he only turns it round to hide the monstrocity down the back of it but if faulty towers is your thing then book up but if not then stay away from this place at all costs i even wiped my feet on the way out.

This is a long one so please bare with Good things? Location This b&b is very local to the sea front, coral Island and Tower, which is ideal Bad things? This is where you need to bare with me, there are so many points, but you need to be aware in case you do book here Entered the hotel and all was good, check in was quick and painless, went up to our 'double' room to be greeted with a very small 3/4 bed against the wall, meaning one of us would have to climb in and out over the other person if they wanted to be up during the night, and it would also be a cramped night as the bed was so small The room was tiny, paint and paper was peeling off the ceiling, draft coming through the window, bathroom was even colder than the bedroom, there were no plug sockets in the room apart from the two occupied by the kettle and TV, so we had to take turns with charging phones The view from the room would have been great, at an angle you could see the tower, but the windows were so dirty you could hardly see through them The hotel is advertised as having WiFi in all rooms, there was no WiFi at all, I tried to connect on multiple occasions and it just didn't exist First night we filled hot water bottles to keep us warm, got into bed to find the mattress was broken, so the side next to the wall actually sunk in, meaning it was an even more uncomfortable night on top of being cramped and cold First morning we went down for breakfast, dining area was freezing, the chef asked what we wanted, took my mams order and ignored me, so she brought in two full English breakfasts. Due to my health issues I cant eat much early as it can make me really sick, so I ate what I could but it really wasn't nice, the mushrooms were very oily and tasted like they had been cooked in re-used oil, the beans didn't taste like beans and there was one single tinned tomato on the plate, as well as one sausage, one egg and one slice of bacon. We both ate over half (forced but we hate to waste food), drank the tea and had one slice of toast each (all that was given to us). Whilst eating, the owner was arguing with another guest outside of the dining area, threatening to murder them (shouting "I'm going to finish him off") and slamming doors, so this of course was unsettling and off-putting. So we quickly left and went out to enjoy our day The second night we came in, had the same issues with the room, second night of no sleep and chronic back pain from a broken mattress Went down for breakfast our final morning before travelling home, we were sat in the dining area for over ten minutes and weren't greeted or acknowledged, so my mam popped her head around to ask for tea and toast. The owner came in and handed the toast to another table, they told him they were for us and he walked away, he done the same with the pot of tea. He then acknowledged us, came straight over screaming "you are room four who left all of their food yesterday, there are starving people in this world and you waste

Just stay away · Went to Blackpool for my 60th. The best part we liked was checking out and coming back home Disliked · The price we had to pay was £320 for 2 rooms the quality of the rooms where not worth £10 a night. Absolutly no central heating only a 3/4 bed supposed to be a double room, Draft coming through window was disgusting. No wardrobe just 2 drawer unit. Pictures on wall hiding holes in the wall. Blinds ripped in several places the list goes on. Only 2 hand towels to get washed with and never got changed all or stay.We used towels on windows to try stop drafts. Had to sit at breakfast time with coats on and not us but other guests as wll. The owner was very arogrant .
