"Travelodge Blackpool South Shore Review We recently stayed at Travelodge Blackpool South Shore for two nights while attending the Pet Shop Boys concert in Lytham St Annes. We mainly used the hotel as a base, and for that purpose it did the job. The room was clean and comfortable enough, and we had two good nights' sleep, which is probably the most important thing when staying away from home. However, there were a few small maintenance issues, including the light on the mirror not working, which was a little disappointing. Breakfast was fairly mediocre and didn't really stand out. It was adequate, but nothing I'd particularly look forward to again. The food overall wasn't the best aspect of the stay. On the positive side, the drinks were reasonably priced, and the location was quite convenient. It isn't too far to walk into Blackpool, making it easy to explore the resort without having to rely on transport. My main criticism is the price. At around £300 for two nights, I don't feel it offered great value for money. While the hotel was perfectly okay, I think there are some excellent bed and breakfasts in Blackpool that could provide a more personal experience and better value at a similar, or even lower, price. Overall, there was nothing seriously wrong with the stay. The hotel was clean, comfortable, and served its purpose as a base for our weekend away. However, given the cost and the average food offering, I would probably look at a good local B&B next time before booking here again. Good points: Comfortable bed and good night's sleep Clean and tidy room Drinks reasonably priced Convenient location for Blackpool Could be better: Mirror light in room wasn't working Breakfast was only average Food generally wasn't great Expensive for what you get Overall: An okay stay that met our needs, but not one I'd rush back to at the price paid. Next time, I'd be tempted to try a good Blackpool B&B for a potentially better experience and better value for money."

"The shower and toilet were shared on that floor. I didn't use the shower because it didn't look very pleasant. It's best to bring your own towels, hairdryer, and shampoo. The walls were thin, but I slept well. The host was kind and let me in even though I arrived 10 minutes before check-in. Considering the price, the facilities are decent, so I would recommend it to anyone who just needs a place to sleep."

"A lads overnight stay .check in not till 3 but we were able to leave bags ..india the receptionist was great friendly and approachable..we had 8 rooms .no one at all had any faults...we didn't have breakfast but check out wasn't till 11 so we all slept in...much needed...14 pound to park in hounds hill 2 mins away...safe and secure..would definitely return...."

"Close to the beach and attractions. I wouldn’t consider it a hotel as it’s a coded access room only. It doesn’t have parking and you wouldn’t want to park on the road as the area isn’t the best for safety. Our room was on the 3rd floor. Ok for family of three. Bed was comfortable, shower was good but needs curtains in bedroom as the blinds do not keep light out and we were then awake at the crack of dawn. Noisy from other rooms. Cheap enough but wouldn’t return"

"We were in a premier room, 120- but the smell was horrendous. There was a very strong smell of rotten egg as soon as we left the lift. I think this could have been a drain issue. But it was all along the corridor. We had a group booking and most of the party were along this corridor. We reported it to reception and they said they just had the carpets cleaned. Sorry.. carpet cleaner doesn’t smell like that. We had to have the window open all night to try and drive out the smell (it didn’t work). Breakfast was nice in the morning but restaurant area could do with a massive clean, there was a lot of dust. Toilets in main reception area- there was no working lock. Parking- there was no where it said you had to reserve it, so we had to park on the street which was free and we got a space further down the road luckily. Location it is a bit of a treck to Blackpool central. Prepare for a good walk… although it is nice along the front. Personally I wouldn’t come back this hotel, there is nothing royal about it. The smell was really unbearable and I advised reception they need to take that room out of action really and sort whatever the problem is. As it’s unfair. Room was well presented and clean, however our friends in 117 the bathroom door didn’t slide to close and there was loads of cobwebs in the window."

"Cannot fault this hotel, 10/10! The only fault is with the booking with 'trip' as i needed to cancel due to an emergency and reschedule and 'trip' didn't allow this after multiple attempts. Would have even been happy with a credit note to use later but no flexibility, even with sufficient notice. Very disappointed. It's unlikely I will be using trip for my bookings again after this experience."

"Ive been all over the world, and have had to stay in s**t holes in the worst countries imaginable, however I did not think this was possible to happen in the UK. 1. The owner/worker started by asking myself and my 9yo son "why are you pushing the door?" In a rude manner. Then proceeded to grunt instructions. 2. There was no shower in the room and the communal shower didn't look like it had ever been cleaned. 3. The bed sheets didn't fit on the mattress, and when removed there were blood stains on the mattress, consistent with someone wiping a needle. 4. It advertises rooms are sound proof. They really aren't. 5. Advertises breakfast from 9, nobody about at half 8 and didn't look like anywhere fitted to eat. I cannot stress this enough...do not stop here. If we hadn't already paid we'd have gone somewhere else.... Had to put a star otherwise would be 0."

The room was full of damp and mould and a really overwhelming smell was present. We won't be returning. Wasn't the cleanest either."

"Me and partner had a one night stay at the hotel over the bank holiday weekend and it was brilliant. The manager was extremely helpfully and welcoming and was a great help with our parking issue. We were more than pleased with the room, clean comfy and plenty of room. Only down side was the smell of **** in the downstairs corridor at night but not bad enough to put us off coming back. Very nice hotel and hosts."
