Nice old building, pleasant interactions with the staff. Microwave and Fridge inroom with a sink and mirror plenty of charging ports and sockets. Just felt a bit more, hostel / independent BnB to a "Hotel" Hadn't realised the bathroom was shared which was a bit of a surprise but I should have read closer. Walls are thin, room next to us must have fallen asleep with the TV on so I had to listen to law an order for hours and got very little sleep. Room was incredibly hot, but there was a fan provided. No extra pillows and the ones there were very soft and provided little support. If you don't want a cooked breakfast I wouldn't bother with the continental unless you just like bread. Go to the Aldi round the corner instead. Overall it was.. OK. Got somewhere to put our heads down for a night. For the price I'd probably stay in a travellodge in future for the sake of having more privacy and higher quality furnishings.

This place is ideal for a night's stay if you are homeless. Even then one night would be enough! The place is filthy beyond description, disgusting shared bathrooms, horrendous bed and bedding left me itching and scratching. Shower was so filthy I wasn't prepared to use it. No smoking hotel but we had men knocking on the door asking for a light and then giving abuse when husband said we didn't smoke. Left at 6:00am as couldn't face risking food poisoning from the breakfast. Slept on top of the bed fully clothed after checking for bed bugs, not finding any but not convinced they had just buggered off to another hotel. Avoid this one at all cost!!!

Bed was a little lumpy but didn't stop us sleeping. Place is a bit tired and seems to be a bit of a hotel / hallway house. A few characters having a ciggy outside but they didn't cause any noise or anything later when we got back from a night in Derby. At the end of the day it was really cheap and included breakfast. The host was a chap who was very polite and couldn't do enough for you.

Booked this for a work trip using the work online system and they recommended it. It’s cheap, and it’s cheap for a reason. I turned up after a 4 hour drive. Had to gain entry by way of a ring doorbell. A couple of lads out the front smoking said to ring it and as one of them was clearly smoking ****, they ducked off around the corner. (At least they had the politeness to try and hide it) The guy opened the door was very polite. I had absolutely no issues with him. He showed me the ground floor, checked me in and took me to my room, showing me the shared bathroom on the way. Some of the other characters appeared to be less fortunate than myself, and I’m not knocking them. We all have bad luck at some point in our lives. This place is obviously a half way house for those coming out of a spot of bad luck, so I applaud them for. These people are obviously placed there and the bills, I’m assuming, would be footed by the state. Why not earn a bit while helping those in need of it I say. For a work stay though, I didn’t particularly like sharing a bathroom with people I didn’t know, and seeing a young lady walking to her room wrapped in a towel, while she was quite pretty, I found it very inappropriate. The room was old and dated and was more a bed sit with a sink, microwave and small fridge. Id like to say I’ve stayed in worse, but I honestly haven’t. The breakfast was ok. Choice of cereal, continental or fry up.. The booking was for two nights, but I stayed for one and had work book me a best western for the second night which is more my usual standard. If you want cheap and don’t mind what I and many others have said, go for it.. if you’re used to something a little nicer, you should look elsewhere.

Room was tiny for two adults with hardly any floor space , the mattress had more lumps the the school custard .. As for the shared bathroom the mould that was in the shower was disgusting , after a very restless sleep the breakfast wasn't much better the hash browns were very soggy and the rest was barely even warm. Certainly wouldn't recommend staying here . The only positive was the warm welcome we had

Nice reception, friendly and helpful. The hotel is clean but decor and furniture is dated. Toilet /shower room is shared but clean though dated. Wifi and fridge is a bonus.

Excellent host, a few minor maintenance needs but overall we enjoyed the stay. There is a excellent pub, Indian and Chinese restaurant within walking distance. Good quality English breakfast served by staff who made you feel welcome.
