Ginganga Lodge

Galle|2.2km from Department of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering
The winner of Tripadvisor Certificate of Excellence in 2019”, today the Ginganga Lodge is paying for a global pandemic and disastrous decisions made by the Government of Sri Lanka. It's a crying shame that Indika and his wife and all their staff should have to struggle to keep this property running. It deserves more. It deserves better. It deserves to be at full occupancy. When we walked in, we weren't sure we had made the right choice. The garden was overgrown and there was an aura around that made us uneasy. As we sat by the pool, we had very real reservations, seriously thinking about leaving. Then Mahil showed us our room. Talk about judging a book by its cover! The room was eclectic. Antique masks fought for space with antique jewelry boxes and huge flower arrangements (all flowers sourced from the garden). The room had a relaxing sitting area, shared with the adjoining room that encouraged social interactions. The AC soon had the room nice and cold. We stayed. Because of the room - and because of Mahil. Mahil went out of his way to make us feel at home. We could ask him whatever we wanted from the kitchen - and he made it happen and it was good. Mahil kept checking on us like he was our personal butler. A level of service we have rarely experienced anywhere else on our travels. He even organized an ice bucket for our evening tipple - the property serves beer, but not our favorite whisky, which we just happened to have packed! Indika and his wife, who own the property, have to be applauded for their effort to keep the property alive and kicking when all around them, the country went to pieces. Mismanagement by the Sri Lankan government on a colossal scale after the Global Pandemic had left the country reeling. The lack of fuel, medicines and gas had whatever local clientele Ginganga Lodge would have had, keep firmly away. Indika and Co., have faced impossible odds, and we believe they will come through with flying colours against those odds. They would do this because they have surrounded them with an excellent staff. The Chef made the most exquisite local cuisine and his Seafood Mixed Grill was worth every penny. We can't say enough about Mahil - he was ubiquitous, right at hand when ever you needed something. There were little niggles, of course there were. Some bulbs had blown. The power cuts plaguing the country plagued our stay (nothing to do with the property, but everything to do with the government - who also is rationing fuel so that the properties' generators couldn't run the way they should have). The sound-proofing in the rooms could be improved on... our room was right next-door to a couple who had just got married. Enough said! The garden could do with a slight trim and on our penultimate night the Tiki lamps ran out of juice. Are these niggles enough to stop off from recommending Ginganga Lodge? No. Visit the Ginganga Lodge. We are certain you would enjoy it. We did.

Resort hotels, open the door to see the sea, but it is recommended that little babies book rooms with sea views. If you have large suitcases, please make a note. Try to ask the hotel to give you a room on the first floor, because the hotel does not have stairs and it is inconvenient to go up and down. I stayed in a room with a sea view. It was super beautiful and had a good view. Observing those that were not with a sea view, I was really depressed. It was inside. The hotel is a certain distance away from the ancient city of Galle, which is equivalent to the suburbs of the city center. The tuk tuk is about 400-500 rupees. Anyway, it is convenient to take a taxi, the hotel is beautiful, and the holiday is very happy. The mosquitoes in the hotel are very powerful, and the hotel may not be blamed. The dengue mosquitoes in Sri Lanka are all troubled. My husband's foot was bitten by something unknown. The bite was very painful, but there was no itching or fever. Fortunately, I also carried a cooling oil and applied it. Cool oil mosquitoes will not bite us,,,, especially complain about wifi, not at all, my phone card has almost no signal, the best situation is only 3G, most of the time only 2G, but once out of the hotel door, there is With 4G, it’s impossible to circulate in a hotel. I can only surf the Internet in the lobby, and the scenery in the lobby is also very beautiful. Watching the sunset, coconut grove, beach... Breakfast is also very good, it is ordered, not buffet, the first day I ordered banana pancake, the second day I ordered yogurt mixed grains (that is, yogurt is mixed with various grains, melon seeds and the like. In fact, yogurt is very delicious, but there are too few and too many grains. It can’t be mixed. I eat and eat, and it feels like I am eating soil. ) Banana pancakes are not bad. My husband orders American breakfast for two days. This is the safest, and there will be no surprises. . We are accustomed to asking the hotel to call a car for us to the next destination. I call a car from the hotel to Colombo for 11,000 rupees, which is a little bit more expensive than the 10,000 rupees listed on the roadside of the ancient city of Galle. I can understand this. I don’t like to find a driver on the side of the road. After all, life is the most precious thing. The cars called by the hotel are relatively safe. , Buy a peace of mind. All in all, the hotel is still great and good, Shang Meitu

Just a house on the side of the road. There is a small swimming pool inside. The boss arranged a room with a large balcony for us. The owner's family is very warm and thoughtful. The reception for cooking is the boss's nephew, a handsome guy in his 20s. I ordered a seafood fried rice in the evening, 1,500 rupees. Bringing up such a big one, the two of us tried our best to eat without wasting it. There are also two pairs of Norwegian retired elderly people in the homestay. I have lived there for two weeks and have lived here several times. It can be seen how attractive this homestay is.

First of all, I really like this hotel. The owner is a designer. His thoughts are in every corner of the room, exquisite and clean. There is also a hotel and a tea shop. The owner is very kindly invited to visit. I can’t stop and keep taking pictures. Sure enough, the designer’s house is different. I get up in the morning to wash and go to have breakfast. It’s the kind of sitting down and asking your preferences. I will cook it for you on the spot. It’s really great. Yes, black tea juice and fruit are also very happy as appetizers, but I am leaving now, otherwise I really want to stay a few more days. Dear Kumar, I have a wonderful time in your inn, I love it so much Thans for your service and thanks for your excellent design, I will strongly recommend your hotel to my every single friend, I am sure that they will enjoy this leisure time .Many thx

The location is a bit biased, but on the beach side, we only had our guests when we stayed, it was a homestay, but the service was good and there was a hearty breakfast. The waiter will advise you on how to travel the best and be satisfied throughout the stay.

This is the hotel I stayed for the last night in Sri Lanka. The boss service is very good, but the interior decoration is average, the bath has no hot water, it is cold to death, and mosquitoes. I was awakened by mosquitoes at night. The outside environment is very good. Walk for 5 minutes. I went to the vegetable market and cooked some noodles by myself. Those who are not very demanding can choose to stay. By the way, the breakfast is very good, but I only ate a little.
