Excellent
I have been staying at this hostel since December 22nd, and everything has been very nice, good and clean rooms with nice bunks and the hostel includes a good breakfast. Then at 02:40 on December 27th four young drunk men came bursting into my room with laughter and noise and turned on all the lights, they had obviously been out partying but they did not stop partying when they entered the room, and they used the toilets all the time and made a lot of noise. I became quite upset about this, but I was concerned for my safety if I said anything, so I left the room for over an hour, when I came back to the room those four drunk men were snoring and breathing heavily so I could not get any sleep for the rest of the night. The following day I complained to the reception about this inconsideration. Jessica, the manager of the hostel took matters into her own hands and told me she would make a note about those men for the future. Jessica also put me into a new room where I would be alone for my last night at the hostel so I could sleep well without anybody disturbing me. This is what I call good service and Jessica went beyond her duties to compensate me for this inconvenience and that should be rewarded.
茗茗叶斋主The deciding factor in choosing this hotel is free parking. Facts have proved to be very wise. What is surprising is that the hotel facilities are very sophisticated and the breakfast is delicious, especially the smoked salmon. About 30 minutes walk to the town, the hotel reception lady is beautiful and enthusiastic, and helped us book a 2017 Michelin restaurant to eat raw oysters. It was great, and it would be difficult to eat without a reservation.
GGuest UserThe hostel was easy to spot on the corner of the Square when i got off the bus at the station and it was a warm welcome and efficient check in to a clean and airy room with a view onto the corner of Ayre Square. The beds were comfy enough and the bathrooms were clean. I appreciated the breakfast, which was simple but ample, and with a slight local twist. The atmosphere was good in the hostel throughout my 3 days there, and this is in part due to work of the staff. I'd particularly like to mention Tom, who was always friendly and provided good tips and suggestions when asked. The only drawback would come if you are a light sleeper. It's in a great location but remember it's a hostel in Galway right above a bar. It does get quiet for a few hours before daybreak at least. I did feel tired after 3 nights. I would go back though, but maybe for one or two night next time!
GGuest UserPerfect Central Hotel 17 of us, yes Seventeen went for a three night stay at Jurys Inn this past weekend. Amazing service. Staff are so welcoming and under pressure as such a busy place. Nothing was too much trouble. Sorry we don't have his name, but a very tall man from California served the majority of us on arrival and was delightful. Explained that our rooms would not be cleaned daily as there was a staff shortage. None of us were concerned about this and all got daily clean towels and loo roll. Breakfast is very good for those who enjoy a cooked breakfast, which we all did. As we were all from UK €14.00 is expensive for a breakfast but it's certainly cheaper than elsewhere as we experienced by searching for somewhere else on our second day. We went in the peak time of an Oyster festival and agreed we would all return when it's less busy at the hotel and possibly cheaper. Thank you Jurys Inn for the fans for the rooms too.
GGuest UserWhat a lovely location, a gorgeous hotel and the swimming pool was great with the added bonus of an outside hot tub overlooking the sea. My room was 631 with a large king bed, desks, adequate bathroom with bath and shower, seats with table, desk and TV and all the usual facilities in a hotel room. No sockets by the bed though which is something all hotels need to have now but that was the only criticism of the room.
Staff where lovely, helpful and friendly although I give 4 stars as check-in didnt happen for 10 minutes due to no staff being at the reception, no idea why but it got sorted OK.
The hotel is clean, the room was clean, well presented and very welcoming. I had breakfast which was the normal cooked breakfast buffet, toasts, pancakes, breads, cereals, tea or coffee, juices with plenty of seating options and a view of the sea. The staff were great, the food was good and the atmosphere relaxed. The view gives you a great start to the day.
I used the pool which was great. Some families there with kids, a swimming lane, working steam room, sauna and heated jacuzzi. The outside hottub is amazing. It is a must do at this hotel. It was raiing on my stay so the outside tennis court and kids play area werent being used but its worth a mention that they have these.
Location feels remote but its only 5-10 minutes from Salthill and Galway by car. There is a petrol station beside the hotel on the main road and a small village. I guess you access the hotel by car, taxi or bus.
GGuest UserAbsolutely fantastic time. The room was very spacious, the bed was really big and comfortable too. Jesus at the restaurant was very friendly. Nothing was too much trouble for him. Plenty parking spaces. Taxi into town between 7-10euro.
I would definitely recommend getting the breakfast, they have fantastic choices, everything was delicious .
I will definitely come back to this hotel. Galway is absolutely amazing too, maybe a 15min walk into centre, but taxi was cheap so that's how we travelled.
TTravelin_BensWe had a very nice time at the Hyde Hotel in Galway. It is very centrally located which was helpful for anyone without a car. It was also just a 3 minute walk from the train station, which was very convenient. All the staff was very helpful, gave us recommendations on things to do and places to eat. We got the Bed and Breakfast option, and it was definitely worth it. Their breakfast was delicious, we especially liked the pancakes. Our only slight disappointment was that our room did not have A/C, but the window did open to get fresh air and they had a fan in our room which helped. We would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Galway.
SSightseer52655227986I really wanted to rate this hotel a little higher, perhaps 3.5 stars. The PROS: 1. Great location, not far from the bus and train stations and an easy walk to restaurants, shops, and pubs. 2. The hotel itself has a nice pub; a great place to stop in for a drink or snack, with an Irish band certain days of the week. A shout out to Zed and Tina at the bar. 3. Our room was spacious and clean. CONS: 1. The hotel is a little worn around the edges, and the beds and pillows were not all that comfortable for us. I heard that renovations are in the works to expand the reception area and hopefully the rooms will be renovated as well. 2. Housekeeping was inconsistent. One day we did not get new coffee packets and cream; another day the dirty glasses and coffee cups were not taken away and replaced by new ones. We realize that these things happen, but when we took our dirty dishes to reception there was no apology or offer to fix the problem and in fact we were given a lame excuse along the lines of ‘maybe housekeeping thought we wanted to keep the used cups” (with dried coffe in them?) and we were told to carry our dirty cups and glasses to the bar and get new ones from them ourselves. In fact, the hotel seemed to be staffed mainly with young inexperienced people who definitely could use more training in the area of customer service. We had some other issues with service and for this reason the rating cannot be a 4. I’m not sure I would stay again, unless changes are made.
GGuest UserMy boyfriend and I stayed here for one night and it was perfect for what we were looking for. Reception were friendly, the location is as central as you can get and we didn’t have road noise, room was clean and comfortable 🥰 For the price, it is what you would expect, we will definitely be back for our next short stay in Galway 😁 Only thing to note was we could hear slight noise of TV and chat from other rooms, this didn’t effect us though 🥰
ZZONGWEIThe hotel is right next to the bus station, the El Square is just across the road, there is a visitor center across the road, and there is a question to ask directly. We are going to Asford Castle the next day. The staff at the visitor center helped us check the bus time and booked a taxi for us. The hotel's facilities are very distinctive, the interior is old-fashioned, the beds are old, similar to our beds of the 780s, but very clean. The entire hotel room is partially filled with the smell of disinfectant. The hotel breakfast was delicious and the rest were average.
