This was our third visit to Longlands Premier Inn . As a group of 6 friends, travelling from far and wide, this is an ideal location for us to meet up. However, despite the hotel providing the usual expectations of a Premier Inn, we noticed a few changes that did have a disappointing effect on our stay. We are always happy to use the bar and restaurant facilities at Premier Inns. The menu selections in both have always been more that adequate and the prices have been reasonable. Arriving on Friday afternoon, we headed for the bar. This quickly became busier with weekend travellers and the poor barman was manning the counter single-handedly. The result was rather a wait to be served, especially as the barman appeared to be supporting the sole waitress in the adjoining restaurant, as well. On Saturday evening, the bar actually closed at 10pm, resulting in would-be customers being turned away. What bar closes on a Saturday night at 10? On Sunday night, the bar closes at 9pm, even worse, especially if you are staying over until the following day. Our sympathies went to the poor cook on Sunday breakfast duty. Working alone to cook breakfast for the hoards of visitors, he was faced with a long queue of hungry patrons waiting for the hot trays to be replenished. A man can only work at the speed that a cooked breakfast will cook. The restaurant staff were extremely apologetic and chatted amiably with frustrated customers, but clearly there need to be more staff working in the bar and restaurant areas, if only at the weekends, which are possibly their busiest times? A huge shout of thanks to Lisa and Cai who whizzed around the restaurant like capable magicians, with smiles on their faces and the patience of saints. If only there were a few more staff available to help them! As ever , the entire staff were pleasant and accommodating, but there need to be more of them.

room smelt fusty , probably had a smoker in it. Staff at breakfast about as welcoming as a Palestinian group of footy supporters to a Jewish centre forward. Had to book in online whilst stood in front of reception clerk while she filed her nails. Breakfast options very limited would not cook an omelette. WiFi reminded me of dial up speeds from the 80's just not as quick. Good parking though

The train station is opposite the bus station with regular services that stop close to the hotel. The lady on reception was lovely and welcoming and check in was fast. Our room was great, on the ground floor and overlooking the car park. (A nice one πŸ™‚). There is an industrial park a 15 min walk away with a number of retail outlets and places to eat. Gloucester North parkrun very close but disappointingly cancelled the weekend we were there. I did Gloucester City instead though and that was very enjoyable.

We had a warm welcome. The room was spacious with a very comfortable bed, working TV and a nice hot shower. Tea and coffee making facilities were in the room also, which we enjoyed a cuppa on the evening.

I was disappointed by this hotel. One of the older ones in the portfolio and showing its age. It was clean and staff were helpful but the room was one of the smallest Premier Inn rooms I have ever stayed in. No space between the bed and the narrower than normal desk and a tiny bathroom. Also, no air-conditioning and no lift and not the best soundproofing. No Plus rooms are available either. It does have ample parking though. The city centre is a half an hour walk away along a busy road. I stayed in the Premier Inn at Gloucester Quays a week earlier. It is significantly better and well designed and is worth paying a little extra for, given the choice.

This Premier Inn is lovely. Free car park, great location and has a Beefeater restaurant nextdoor. The receptionist was lovely and welcoming. We had a room on the ground floor which was lovely and clean and the sofa bed had been made up for my daughter. We even got a welcome note and a packet of sweets from Rachael, thank you. There was an issue with the WiFi but staff had reported it to Virgin and it wasn't the hotels fault. We will definitely stay here again 😊

Our two night stay proved to be a look after yourself break, you have a bed what more do you want. The receptionist was climbing over the desk as she had locked herself out of the office on arrival. We had a ground floor room with noisy air conditioning and bathroom fan. We requested dry towels and the room to be made up only to come back in the evening to find neither had been done. The bed was unmade the cups unwashed and wet towels still in the bath. We complained to reception who brought clean towels and took away wet ones. So we made our own bed and washed up. Is this normal?
