"Fairly close to city centre. Next to slightly out of town shopping area. Approx 15 minutes walk to centre. Onsite parking available free of charge first come first served so worth paying for early check-in. Rooms clean. Receptionist excellent although working hard as solo member of staff so multitasking. Breakfast bit shambolic re choice, table clearance, insufficient staff. Overall adequate in most respects, Receptionist excellent and Breakfast adequate/ room for improvement. Would return."

"Second stay here, stayed again mainly due to location and value for money. Love Gloucester so will very likely be back. Handy for train/bus, shops etc. Its a exceptionally old building and so expect quirks, all part of the experience. Shower quite a challenge in our room kn the top floor so not sure if thats just the issue, quite low cold pressure but fantastic hot so be careful running bath as it was scolding and the showers cold kept dropping so again be aware and ready to dodge quick. Signal intermittent but found that all over the town so not a hotel issue really. So don't expect the ritzy but then history of the building, cost and location for us compensates for that"

"I had trouble checking in and had to get help from the bar staff who were very helpful The bedrooms were a bit on the small side for 2 people, there was no air conditioning in the bedrooms and it was very hot weather. The breakfast menu was adequate. We did not have dinner at the hotel. The bottom step on the main stairway had no markings on the edge, and one of my party fell down that step on 2 occasions. Fortunately he was not injured, but the matter needs redressing. We pointed it out to one of the bar staff who said he would pass on the comment. The staff were very pleasant at all times."
