Hotel Bries Den Haag - Scheveningen

We had such a lovely stay, the management team were very helpful and the room was perfect for our family needs. A separate room for the kids with bunk bed meant we could enjoy the evening with separate TV and mini kitchen in the adults area. Plenty of bike rental places very near by which are very cheap. Will definitely stay again.

Originally this was quite good. The breakfast was rich and allowed to take out. It was worth the money, but the room was facing the street and the traffic was very noisy. The most unbearable thing was the shower. The cubicle was too small to turn around. Photos The one above is also worthy of a shower? ! The drizzle of water is still high above, and it depends on the reflection of the wall to wet the body. Can this be considered a bath?

The hotel is in the heart of the city, next to the palace, from the Hague HS station by tram about 3 stops, walk to the central station about 15 minutes. The hotel is an old building renovation, inside is the decoration style of the hotel. I lived on the first floor, and the windows on the wall were closed. There was only a skylight, which was a bit interesting. The room is quite big, but the furniture is a bit small, only a chair. The bathroom is very clean, but the sink is a bit small. The hotel's quotation does not include the city tax. When you check in, you can only pay the credit card. The tax written on Ctrip's order may be wrong, less than the amount to pay. There is a charge for luggage storage at the front desk. It should be 3 Euros regardless of the quantity. I have two trolleys and I have received a total of 3 Euros.

Room okay, the reception is very kind ... After 50 meters you are at the nice beach with many restaurants and bars. Also nearby the great Pier with Bungee-Jumping, a lot of shops, restaurants and a big ferris wheel with a great view over the beach. At the beach are many playrooms for the children and you can surf, kite or make other watersports...

Great hotel, with quiet lobby. Handy automatic supermarket machine witch gets you food and drinks anytime you like. Staff is semi Dutch speaking but deliver a great clean and tidy hotel. Traveled for business, good location. Sea is just around the corner. Photos look the same as reality, so I won’t include photos in my review.

The guy working there tonight needs an attitude check. He seems to think he's King Kool himself. I came in late looking to book a room, and they had availability. He said it was past their check-in time but offered to sell me a private. That sounded good, and I asked if they had any in-person discounts. Pretty standard thing to ask for, and I asked for it politely. He went on about how he was making an exception for the late checkout and told me he could give me a ”discount” of X. Well it turns out I had already seen the room selling for less than X on Hostelworld, so I told him I'd like to book it online (once again, politely). Well King Kool felt threatened by that, I guess. I have no idea what he was thinking, because he then told me we ”couldn't come to an agreement” and went on about how he was going out of his way for me... and told me to leave and go to the Ibis! Maybe he didn't like to be exposed for lying about a ”discount.” Dear management: when a customer offers to take a room you're not going to sell tonight, who is doing whom a favor here? Glad I didn't give King Kool any business.
