We were lucky and delighted to find vacancy at Natura Vista after a last minute search for an interesting place to host a short family vacation, before my return to the UK. Our search was for a quiet and intimate place where my family of seven, including my elderly mother could retreat. We found Natura Vista, near Madikeri located on a quiet family heirloom estate - which was just the haven that we were looking for. Once you arrive at the cottages at Natura Vista, down a rugged lane and descend into the estate valley, you are immediately immersed in an enchanting world of dappled light cast by the tall trees and dense estate forest, a symphony of exotic birdcalls, amazing fragrance of various flowers and great calm. At night, the place is transmuted into another celestial world of serenity and stillness where the trees stand like shy sentinels in the descending mist and the forest estate is enveloped by a magnificent galaxy of starry sky to gaze endlessly. The cottages are spacious, simply and tastefully built by the owners, using mostly natural materials such as timber from the estate. They were well furnished, comfortable and convenient. The cottage was accessible by my mother after ascending 3 steps onto a portico. My mother particularly enjoyed her morning prayer and coffee on the wonderful balcony, taking in the amazing view of the enchanted misty valley, observing the leaves in relief and appreciating the various shapes of branches of distinctly old trees amidst the sweet sound of birds - ‘I am so lucky to be here to experience this beautiful gift of nature.’ she said. I was fortunate to witness my mother enjoy this gifted moment and have the quality time with her and my family in this beautiful place. Natura Vista could be a great retreat experience that you can offer to your elderly parents. In the evening we sat in conversation and music around the open fire place warmed by the coffee plant firewood. Enough can’t be said about the generosity, genuineness and warm hospitality of the estate owners Sajeena and Nikesh; who ensured that we were comfortable in every way and checked on us even late in the evening. Delicious food using the produce from the estate was lovingly prepared at the estate house by Sajeena and her team. Bharath, the polite and ever attentive manager can be occasionally seen, quietly whizzing past in his electric scooter - the only movement seen in the stillness of the estate - to ensure your every little need is attended to, in time and to taste. He would ensure the hot delivery of tea, coffee and delicious breakfast or dinner to your cottage each morning and evening. External lights outside the cottage were quietly turned off by him around 6am. Bharath diligently took care of our every need throughout our stay. Sajeena took us on a beautiful early morning tour of the estate explaining to us about the incredibly difficult processes and care of coffee cultivation. Natura Vista also supply their own organic
