This is a fantastic resort. It’s simple but nice and clean. The staff is really friendly and they can speak english. The part of the beach down the resort was the best part of the beach on Koh Ngai. The food was good but the breakfast could offer more option to vegans and vegetarians. We want to go back!

Absolutely a tropical paradise - with a couple of exceptions. The customer service is amazing and first rate service as soon as you arrive. The snorkeling trip with Mark was the best thing we did in our month in Thailand and I highly recommend it! The cabanas are very comfortable; although the mattress is rock hard. Fresh seafood is delicious! In hindsight, I would have just rented a garden view instead of the sea view for the cost since all of them are just steps from the beach and not worth the extra cost for the sea view. I do have a couple of recommendations though: STOP BURNING TRASH!!! This is completely unacceptable and the noxious fumes you are creating is poisoning your guests and the environment. Unfortunately, all the resorts on this island do this archaic practice and the smell is unbearable. There is also a large unregulated garbage dump along the trail to the other side of the island that needs to be cleaned up. Second recommendation is for the resort to use biodegradable cardboard straws. There is no place for plastic in a paradise like this. Lastly, stop anchoring the boats in the very sensitive sea grass and reefs. If you want to protect this island, these practices must stop immediately. I would have gladly of paid extra for my stay if I knew it went towards preserving this unique and beautiful location. With all this being said, it is a breathtaking (no pun intended with the burning trash) experience and far less tourists than on other islands.

the resort is located directly on the beautiful and peaceful beach. The staff is very friendly and the bungalow on the beach very clean. the breakfast, lunch and dinner is delicious. We'd love to come back !!

We only had dinner one night in the hotel restaurant, the welcome was perfect, lanterns and a singer make this place a haven of peace unlike other resorts which are full in the evening. The dishes are good and the service is great! Thanks again for this great time!

This place is simply heavenly. There is a slightly bohemian spirit, the bungalows compared to other resorts are quite spaced out and their bamboo covering gives the place a very appreciable natural and bohemian air. This is reinforced by a very nice restaurant, whose dishes are delicious and varied, which contrasts with a slightly Chinese chain atmosphere of some other neighboring resorts. The staff is adorable and attentive and the managers give off an incredibly positive and peaceful energy. The view of the beach is splendid, with its turquoise water, this magnificent hilly jungle behind, the magnificent islands that dot the seafront in front. The snorkeling spots on day trips are very beautiful, the walks to go to the other beach too. Everything invites relaxation and well-being. Despite a high standard, the overall atmosphere remains relaxed and simple, more than in Koh Kradan which has a more "bling bling" air. By far, it is the most beautiful place of our holidays, we spent 5 days there and could have stayed there again without getting bored. We left with a light mind of peace found but a little heavy heart to leave behind this place and these incredible people. We then went to the Tarutao natural park thinking to find there, as described in the travel guides, a preserved and natural atmosphere, if that is what you are looking for like us, the Trang islands offer a much more favorable setting for this.

Open again since November 2022. Beautiful location right on the beach. Friendly staff. The resort needs some maintenance, but otherwise we liked it very much. You can eat right on the beach. Bring cash because there are no ATMs.

Simple, beautiful location right on the beach. Since everything has to be brought from the mainland, it is not cheap. Several times a day you can admire the hornbills picking the ripe fruit from the trees. We were the first guests after the pandemic.

We were at Mayalay for the third time and would come back again and again. After the pandemic, there is certainly still a lot to do to get the resort up and running, but the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff cannot be topped. The location of the functionally furnished bungalows is unbeatable. There are 2-3 bars and restaurants on the beach, absolutely enough to spend a few days here and switch off. Transfer from Krabi Airport to the pier took about 1.15 hours and then continued with a longtail boat booked through the hotel. It worked out great again. We can only recommend Mayalay with all its little weaknesses.
