My husband and I stayed here for 10 nights in May 2023. It was our first time in Kos and staying at a Mitsis hotel. The thing that attracted us to the hotel was the 5* rating and room type we booked - Superior Double with Sea View and Plunge Pool. We arrived very late after travelling all day. Check in was quick and easy. The only food on offer at this time was the reduced buffet, which is exactly that. Plenty of salad items, bread, some cakes and one or two hot dishes. It would have been nice for some meats and cheeses to be available to make a sandwich but only ever saw that at breakfast. The room was very nice and modern, luxurious and decorated to a high standard. It had a walk in rainfall shower which was great. Separate toilet with door and large bathtub with modern fixtures. The mini bar was refilled daily with beer, wine and soft drinks. This room type has a nespresso machine with the pods refilled daily too. I believe it is only the superior rooms that have this. Lots of wardrobe space and a safe. Large flat screen tv, although most of the channels are not in english. There are no plug sockets near enough to the tv to plug in a fire stick (we always travel with one) so I would recommend packing an extension if you want to use one. Room has air con and plug sockets have usb ports on them which is a nice touch. We didn’t find the beds comfortable nor the pillows, but this is all down to personal preference. Outside on the terrace you have a table and chairs which are always in the shade so a nice place to sit when you need a break from the sun. There are also 2 large, very comfortable sun beds/loungers with a parasol. Again had a luxurious vibe. We had to phone reception and get someone to come and put the parasol up, 2 men came to do it and they struggled. All of the other rooms surrounding us had to do the same so if you get the parasol put up I would leave it up or you will need to call reception each time! The pool had a jacuzzi setting on it which was nice. The terrace/pool gets the sun all day. Also provides shelter if you get rain like we did a few days. A lot of the hotel looks modern - nests, superior rooms, a La cartes and infinity pool area. The main building/terraces, buffet and lobby have a more traditional feel. Buffet This was hit and miss, we found if you went early for each meal it was better. For example there would be nicer things on the buffet that then get replaced with something else after it had run out possibly. For anyone who has allergies/intolerances or a special diet you might struggle as the labelling is not very detailed and at some dishes not present at all. Staff were very welcoming and helpful. Drink service sometimes a bit slow but you could just bring a drink from the bar in with you. Breakfast buffet had the most choice in my experience. Lots of hot food, cereals, yoghurts, bread, fruits and meat and cheeses as well as pancakes to choose from. We visited each a la carte once d
