We stayed here for two nights from October 5-7 and have no complaints about the service and care we received. This is renovated primary school, but you wouldn't know it from how it has been remodeled. Though we did like the wide stairways with wooden bannisters that retained a little of the ”school” feel. The overall atmosphere of the hotel and its grounds is very calming; a nice oasis from the bustle of the city. The room was a good size with very good amenities that made the stay convenient and comfortable. The in-room bar was complimentary and restocked daily. We also had access to the lounge which had free flowing snacks and beverages throughout the day. It was nice to sit next to the window with a warm beverage or a glass of wine after a long day of trekking across the city. We ate in the city, but also made a point to try all of the places to eat in the hotel. We had breakfast on the outside terrace of the main restaurant. The ”well-being” breakfast was healthy and hearty; very filling. We liked that the breakfast was ”by order” rather than buffet. Buffets can be tiring when you just want to sit comfortably on a terrace, enjoying the morning with a cup of coffee. We had one dinner at Benoit, the French restaurant. We tried three mains as part of two set meals we ordered: Sea Bass, Lobster, and Pork Loin. All were done very well. For a late supper, we had a steak on the Rooftop Lounge. The chef himself, strongly suggested I order a different wine with the steak as he felt it complimented it better. It was actually a cheaper wine than I had ordered, so I appreciated that it was a true recommendation. We followed dinner with cocktails in the bar, where the bartender apparently is rather well-known in Kyoto. He certainly had admirers watching him as he made the drinks. The hotel general staff and concierge were all very helpful, helping us reserve cars and check to make sure that our destinations were convenient for our purposes. They also follow-up with us to see if what they had suggested worked out. The only suggestion is to make sure that you leave plenty of time for arriving and leaving. The hotel is right in the middle of a major tourist area. There are many temples in the area, and the streets are lined with tea houses, places to eat or buy souvenirs, and places just to discover or wander about. So depending on the time of day, the traffic can be very congested. That said, from the hotel it's only a 20-minute walk to Nishiki market and the areas around it. Overall, an excellent stay. We would definitely consider the hotel again for any future trip we might have to Kyoto.

This place is INCREDIBLE! I have no other words for it other than the most pleasant stay I could ever imagine having at a traditional Japanese ryoken. We opted for daily traditional kaseki breakfasts that were served in our room with tea and coffee, would sit at the bar and chat with the staff and sample their great Japanese whiskey collection, enjoyed our beautiful spa-like bathroom with private onsen, heated floors, temperature controlled shower area, and beds so comfy, you couldn't help but fall asleep as soon as your head hit the pillow. The staff were incredibly amazing and very quick to handle any needs we had—and they were SO friendly! We had several great and long conversations with them that they felt like friends more than hotel staff. The location was great too because you were a short walk to several temples, popular tourist sites and great food but was secluded enough that you felt like you could relax and detox from the chaos of other large cities in Japan. This was one of the best experiences during our 12-day stay in Japan. I highly highly recommend. One piece of information that might be helpful, the entrance can be difficult to find but the property will message specific instructions to show the taxi drivers so whether they know English or not, they'll be able to get you close to the entrance. Once dropped off, it's just a short walk to the entrance. But trust me, it's worth the search.

A summer trip to Kyoto I visited Kempton Shimizu, an inn along Yasaka Dori, which overlooks the Yasaka Tower from the elegant Yasaka Dori. After passing through the warm curtain, you will walk through a beautiful garden. The inn enclosure is surrounded by a deep atmosphere. All the doors of the room are auto locked and the crime prevention side is safe. All the maisonette type rooms are family type wide 々 1F has a kitchen so you can cook here. There is also a convenience store and a supermarket within walking distance, so you can add a lot of effort to cook and take out. At a large dining table We can all surround a delicious meal. Next time, I wanted to find ingredients unique to Kyoto and try cooking ♡ The room is complementary and has bottled water, tea and coffee all free! !! Tea is served by Ippodo, Kyoto Coffee is served by DUNSTAN COFFEE, who was born in Kyoto. Service that is good for cafe time after check-in and wake up in the morning Cooking utensils (IH type) Range kettle plate chopsticks spoon fork glass wine glass mug floor heating is also complete Since you are doing it, you can spend the winter flooring warmly. 2F is a bedroom bathroom Japanese-style room. When you open the door of the corridor, you will find a washing machine, dryer, and detergent. It's a nice service to be able to wash on a trip. It seems that Japanese beds are used in the bedroom that heals the fatigue of the day, and the first-class Japanese-style room used in the imperial family and guesthouses can also be laid out with futons. When you get there, you can see the Yasaka tower, which looks like a page of painting. The Japanese-style room door is also equipped with an iron. The bathtub in the bathroom uses Takano Tsubo, which is full of luxury. You can relax like a bath with a garden. Shampoo treatment body soap is additive-free with zero allergies. Complete AINA LYRA. Bi Amenity is a favorite of Gei * Use Kyoto Chidoriya, which has a history of about 70 years in Kyoto. Bath towel hand towels are both touchy. Use Ikeuchi organic. It is exactly the center of a tourist destination. It's an inn like it's in, so it's very convenient because it's within walking distance to the Yasaka Tower, Yasaka Shrine, Yasaka Koshindo, and Kawaramachi, as well as cafes and souvenir shops around the inn.

This traditional Japanese inn has a very welcoming staff. Seasonal and thoughtfully prepare kaiseki cuisine was a highlight in the evening and at breakfast. The room was cozy and just the right size for a couple. Also, the soaking bath felt really relaxing after a long day of touring. The inn is conveniently located near the Kiyomizu-Dera temple, other significant shrines, a 700 yr. old pagoda and walking streets with old-time architecture.

Very pleasant inn. The boss is super handsome, the most handsome Japanese man I have ever seen on this trip🇯🇵 The house as a whole is very, very warm, the details of the rooms are still a bit short, and the overall style is already very good. like. The location is also very good and the center of the scenic area, the price/performance ratio is really too high!

The property is excellent and nothing to complain. But one thing to complain with Trip.com. As the property is a stand-alone house with no reception. The hotel should have provided a password to the property door lock for me to enter the property upon arrival. However, I got no advice from Trip.com about such arrangement as well as the door lock password upon booking confirmation. I ended up spending almost one hour after arrival at the property to contact the hotel office to sort it out and to finally get into the property. Trip.com should do something to avoid such mistake from happening again for similar cases.
