On one hand, it’s a gorgeous hotel with incredible, professional and helpful staff. Very comfortable accommodation (we booked the suite; room 401) with high spec finishing and serious eye to detail. All mod cons, first class shower/ toiletries and a bed you don’t want to leave. There’s a library on 3rd floor with Nintendo memorabilia and a well stocked whisky bar with a little outside space - very relaxing. On the other hand, the location isn’t great. Whilst only 1.6km from the action, you REALLY notice it, mainly due to one factor, food. A) there is no room service. B) there are literally 2-3 restaurants in a 7 minute walking distance (2 of which we went to and left after a drink). C) limited food at the hotel and at set times. Breakfast, lunch and dinner all need to be pre-booked (if not part of your room cost). All are set menus i.e. you have no choice. You get what your given with a decent price tag. We tried breakfast on our last morning and whilst the quality was good, it really wasn’t to our taste. The lounge has snacks but it’s literally that; cheese, ham, chocolate or cake. So if food and location are not top on your priority list, this is a strong 4*, maybe even a 5* hotel and experience. If they are though, overall it’s probably closer to a 3* experience and therefore, you question the value for money. Again, the staff were excellent and one of the highlights of our stay.

The terrible check-in service provided by the two front desk staff totally ruined my mood to enjoy in this hotel, despite the man who look like the manager apologized when I checked out. I don’t think I will book this hotel again. We booked two rooms, they managed to give us rooms on the same floor but they mixed up with our keys. The staff at the front desk checked for a few times but still the keys were wrong. When we check out, the receipt was wrong too. We booked a triple room for 3 adults but they only let us have two key cards and didn’t want to provide more even we requested. For those who has young toddler, kindly note there is no bed guard available in twin bed room due to the thick mattress. I was also told that baby cot is only provided for baby between 0-2 and it is “illegal” to be provided for my son who is just 2 and 1m owing to their hotel or whatever policy. I was so disappointed that this five-star hotel couldn’t provide me a way to resolve the issue which I have never experienced in other hotels. Their baby cot is 120x70cm which is the same size as the one in my home. The staff even asked if my son would only “sleep” in it as if he would demolish the cot. At the end I was offered to use the baby cot but they didn’t put it in my room until I asked for it when i returned at night. The hotel could have put more emphasis on details if it is a family-welcoming hotel. We received the welcome pack for kids in the room. Baby stroller was also available at the front desk. Apart from that, kids tableware was nice although not provided at the beginning when we arrived at the restaurant. Anyhow, the hotel has a great location. The food at breakfast was delicious. The hardware in the room was new and clean. The bed and duvet were comfortable. The facilities inside the room can be controlled using an iPad and it was interesting to see a robot delivering room service. The art work at the lobby also caught my sons’ attention to stay.

I choose this hotel because its in the train station and beside metro subway and in front local bus and taxi area for good transportation. Lots food area 😋 Kyoto to osaka rapid train 580 yen about 30 mins travel time . No need for the bullet train save your money. I used jr railpass last year a waste of money . 15 mins travel time thats differences. The hotel staffs are professional and enthusiastic. For the seven days stay, everything was perfect. The room is spacious compared with other hotels at the same level. The hardware are well maintained. The restaurants provide great food. The breakfast at Cafe 33 is great but limited in variety given the price. The Italian restaurant trattoria sette provides great pizza and pasta. The location is quite convenient given its proximity to Kyoto Station, thought it’s a bit far from Kawaramachi. There are bus stops connecting Gion, Higashiyama, Kawaramachi, Kyoto Station and Tofukuji quite near the hotel.

Advantages: The location is very good. It is a few minutes walk to the subway station. There is 711 opposite. It is very convenient to buy breakfast and late night snacks. Datang is very spacious. You can buy breakfast from 711 and eat here. The service is very friendly. Disadvantages: The toilet is too small. Another big problem is that the wifi is often disconnected. Not only is it stuck, but the network is often disconnected and does not work. I think this problem should be easily improved. Overall, the price and location are very cost-effective. If the wifi can be improved, I will choose here again next time. The fact that 711 is right downstairs is a plus.

In addition to accommodation, you can use only meals. The kaiseki dishes for lunch are from \3300- and \5000- at night, and can be used for legal affairs and banquets. At the time of the corona fist, the ”tempura meal” of \1,100- is now available as a simple lunch.Lunch time is 11:00 to 14:00 and last order is 13:30. The room is a large private room, where you can enjoy the meal while looking at a nice garden. It is used for up to 4 people in one room, so it is recommended to use for 4 or less. You can use it for one person, of course, but I think it's too luxurious to visit alone. It is a hotel that combines tradition and modernity. It is located in a very quiet area, just 15 minutes walk from the historic centre of Kyoto and 10 minutes from the station. They helped us with all our doubts, every morning when they left offered us bottles of frozen water to support the heat and helped us with the shipment of baggage to Osaka, they have a staff of 10! The room was wide, it had tatami floor, a very wide and comfortable bed and a living area. We tested the continental and Japanese and both were very diverse and complete! Another point in favour of the room was the bathroom with cedro bath, ideal for resting after spending the day by Kyoto! It is a very recommended hotel! Pros : Close to JR Kyoto station, just about 10 mins walk. Hotel looks quite new & very clean Rooms are spacious enough (considering Japan’s standard) Staff are generally friendly and always prompt to offer help. Very extensive breakfast buffet spread, literally one of the best we had before. Definitely worth booking a room package including breakfast. The only downside, the hotel tends to be a little overcrowded and bustling during our stay. It’s great for families but if you are looking for quiet or private getaway, then you may want to consider elsewhere.

About １５ minutes walk from Kyoto Station. The road is flat, but I felt a small 々 distance if it was a big luggage because it crossed the signal several times. To the seven articles of the subway, it was about ７～８ minutes walk across the Takase gawa River and the Asahikawa. It is a good route to access because it can be reached by １ book to Shijo Kawaramachi. There were few convenience stores and restaurants that were open late, so it was a very quiet and calm area if you were inn for accommodation. I stayed in a single room, but there was a sofa and a functional large TV monitor in a double bed, and it was a room that could spend comfortably without feeling compact.

For a night booked for 380 yuan, the room is small and the facilities are simple. One person can just accommodate it, and there is a ventilation window on the outside close to the wall, no sunlight, and the price is too low. The boss is Chinese. The reasonable price should not exceed 150 ～ 200 yuan. The location is also very close to the Keihan tram station, and Kamogawa is a few dozen steps away. In summary, too expensive, not recommended.

The location is very good - ten minutes walk from the train station. A bonus is its proximity to Higashi Honganji temple and its detached garden Shosei-en. The hostel itself is very well set up and very well run. The facilities are excellent - the kitchen is as good as any I have come across in a hostel in Japan. The bunk beds are comfortable. The lack of privacy curtains was not a problem in my stay, but with less considerate room mates it could be. The showers are very good: plenty of pressure and good temperature control. The common/dining room is spacious and comfortable but I found the piped 'cafe music' from morning to night there irritating. The desk staff were all helpful and competent, and spoke good English. The cleaning staff worked hard to keep the hostel clean, and it was reassuring to see them going around disinfecting surfaces in view of the current coronavirus epidemic. No fault of the Kyoto hostel, but booking on the K's house website is unnecessarily complicated. I found it preferable to pay more for the ease of booking.com than wrestle with K's House booking process to take advantage of their 'secret deals' (loyalty discounts).

It's located in a small alley within Kyoto central. The location was quite nice and convenient. I stayed in the Omoya house, which is female only, it's all built by woods, so a little bit of noise with be amplified pretty easily. They have signs and notice put up to notify the guess to be careful about making noises, however, the lock on the door wasn't designed to be quite, it makes a loud click while locking it, and it's hard to prevent even if you try to lock it slowly. The guests also need to know how to close the door properly so it doesn't sound like their slamming the doors when closing them. The futon and comforter were great. I had a great rest when staying there. I stayed in the private room, which I think it's quite enough for myself to use, it creates a nice little personal space. I love the fact that they have bathtubs in two of the bathrooms. Overall, it's still a nice and valued stay.
