Hôtel les Roches Blanches Cassis

The view is great but the staff is not attentive at all and overall the hotel is a bit tacky.

Our family of 4 + a friend visited Cassis for 3 days. Les Roches Blanches seemed a great choice, it was the 1st time for us there. Our expectations were exceeded as hotel and its staff are excellent. Here is why: 1. The location at the outskirts of Cassis town is perfect. There is great view to the town, sea and the mountains. Distance to town is about 10+ mins walk 2. Facility is clean, with a modern twist but still has also elegance of the years lived. 3. Rooms are awesome, we had a family suite in a house only 20 meters from main hotel. Suite had a large terrace with view to the sea. Our friend had a room in the same house, overlooking partly the sea. 4. Pools and sunbeds are great. There are 2 pools, both are large and well situated within the hotel area, with a view to the sea. There are so many sun beds that there is absolutely no time periods of rush. All sun beds can be supported by shades if needed, the staff at the pool was extremely helpful. 5. Warm welcome at the check-in was such a nice experience, as we also met hotel director by chance and several staff members. The welcome felt genuine and we were offered a tour of the site to get familiar with everything. 6. Pool menu was top hit for our kids who favored burgers. Kids are picky with ingredients and their burgers came exactly as they wished them. We adults enjoyed high quality drinks by the pool, and service was fast and friendly. 7. Sea outside of Cassis is 20 degrees celsius, which for many people feels a bit coldish but for us it was really nice. Hotel has good access to the sea from the cliffs via stairs and ladders. We swam every day several times with the whole family there. 8. Lunching every day at the Wolf Bar was highly apprecited for us adults. The menu is primarily sea food and there are several raw options. We loved the place, and especially its selection of rosé wine. 9. We dined two evenings in the hotel: once in Rocco and once in Les Petites Canailles. The former was a great experience, tasty food for all 5, busy restaurant with a great vibe. The latter is fine dining and hence our kids preferred either to go for in-room-dining or ask for pasta. After some negotiation the staff agreed to serve pasta to the kids while we adults had 7 course menu. The feedback for the menu was divise, I enjoyed the food, our friend mostly but my wife did not as she felt it lacked taste. I believe restaurant philosophy was to stay with fresh tastes and avoid too much salt, pepper and fat which worked well for me. All in all, Les Petites Canailles experience was very good but due to some menu feedback hard to say perfect. In the general review however it is all positive. 10. One evening we dined in the town. Hotel had reserved for us as per our request an Italian style place, and it was exactly as we wanted. At return to hotel we went for drinks in Petanque bar and it was so fun, that we returned there also next evening before dining at Les Petites Canailles. Good drinks and a fun place

We spent the last part of our honeymoon here and are so happy with our decision. This is a beautiful and charming hotel that makes you feel like you are in a 1920’s movie. Concierge Matthew was fantastic and so helpful—they rescheduled our boat multiple times because of the wind. Stunning location with an easy walk into town. Breakfast was divine and peaceful. Service by the pool could be a bit more attentive, but the views and privacy of the layout make up for everything. To note, I was surprised to see alot of families at the hotel as we specifically chose this hotel because of its romantic views and breathtaking layout with the cliffs, which is great for privacy. During our stay there were a surprising amount of kids at both pools on different occasions, often playing Marco Polo and generally just making for a non peaceful vibe (as kids do). The hotel could easily fix this by making one of the two pools an “adults only pool”. Otherwise, a beautiful and romantic spot with a 10/10 rating from us.

The hotel is beautifully situated. That is the best I can about it. My husband booked this hotel through American Express Platinum Travel. Our room was lovely with a sea view. There are many stairs and many levels, so anyone with any mobility issues be warned. Our room had 3 steps leading to it. The outside light was burnt out and we reported it the first morning of our stay. The lightbulb was never replaced. We were there for 4 nights. Service at either pool was basically nonexistent. The first day we took our own towels. We had to flag someone down to get water and ice. No one ever checked to see if we needed anything additional. There were very strong winds one day and the umbrella in front of us flew out of its stand and blew down to the next level. Fortunately, there were thick shrubs which caught the umbrella or someone could have been hurt badly. This happened 3 times in the span of 1 1/2 hours before they closed and tied the umbrella. Service at the restaurant in the morning was terrible. We had to wait at least 25 minutes to get 4 coffee orders filled. Everyone said “yes” or “okay” to every request but rarely delivered. When our friend and I spoke to the morning manager, he was grateful for our comments. When we checked out, the hotel front desk staff told our friend that the hotel appreciated his comments to the manager and they removed all the incidental charges on his bill. A total of 148Euros. No such charge was removed from our bill. I wrote the hotel concierge when I discovered this discrepancy and never heard back. My husband is now filing a credit card dispute on our incidental charges. Finally, I wrote the concierge before our arrival and told them that both couples were celebrating anniversaries. One 52 years and one 55 years. Our friends had wine delivered, sweets delivered and rose petals on their bed. We had nothing. This does not seem like 5 star service on any level. I rarely write reviews but this was appalling on too many levels to ignore. I hope the hotel management decides that with a such a negative review they should reach out to us. I am not confident that they will.

The location of the hotel overlooking Cap Canaille and the sea is simply stunning. It’s also walking distance to.Cassis and they offer a shuttle service. The infinity pool and the very well manicured gardens are so great to relax. The room was very large with a beautiful view and large balcony. Great bathroom with rain shower. The staff is extremely nice and pamper clients. We really enjoyed the Rocco restaurant and their crudo selection.

We booked this hotel as part of our vacation, we spent 3 nights total. I gave this property only 2 stars which is based on many factors including price, value and their 5 stars that they rate themselves. First of all, this is not a 5 star hotel by any means however it’s the nicest in the area so they have an advantage. First of all, our room category that we booked “deluxe” was a shoe box-smaller than most NYC hotels. This was 1 level above their standard room. The room faced a noisy street so we asked to be moved. The only option they gave me was to pay 1200 extra euros so we did it as I’m a light sleeper. We were now paying over $1200 euros a night! The room was dilapidated and looks like they needed to rehab this hotel. What you’re paying for is the location and views-our favorite part was the outdoor lounges. Our room had a lightbulb out and they said they couldn’t get the part in time to fix it?! Then our AC did not work the first night so didn’t sleep well. They finally cleaned the filter (which looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in ages) and that did the trick! Breakfast was lovely but staff is very slow. We found this to be an issue as well at their other restaurant for dinner. The shower was odd, no shower door so the water kept seeping into the floor. We heard everyone above us and next door-walls are very thin. I understand if they are still figuring things out, but the price doesn’t warrant what you get here. Better off paying the same price to stay in St Tropez or Provence.

We stayed for two nights in this fantastic hotel with one of the most exclusive views possible. If you are nearby, we would highly recommend a stay in this hotel and enjoy the fantastic outside areas, multiple pools and really great restaurants! We will certainly be back…
