GGuest UserThis is a wonderful hotel to stay in because it's centrally located. The beach is not very far, within 20 minutes (or so) walk. Because the hotel is centrally located, we did not have to drive anywhere once we parked at the hotel, but instead walked everywhere. The guestroom was beautifully decorated and very clean, and had nice amenities. The breakfasts were delicious, and the wine and cheese hour offered in the afternoons was relaxing and a good pick-me-up after a long day exploring Carmel. And last, but not least, Betty (who checked us in) and Miranda (each one was at the front desk at various times) are the bestest of the best when it comes to answering any questions you may have, and making sure you have a pleasant stay. They have been nothing but sweet, gracious, patient, and accommodating. The hotel AND staff? 10 out of 10. I might also add that if you choose to have your breakfast and/or your wine and cheese away from the room provided, there is a sun deck which has patio tables and chairs in which you can enjoy your comestibles outdoors.

GGuest UserWe booked this place hoping it would be one of the many, very smart independent motels you find throughout CA. Check in was painless and easy. We got a great patio as we had paid for a sea view but it did mean we were around the side of the hotel. The patio doors were surprisingly insecure - held by a small bolt. The room itself was surprisingly small (two double beds), particularly with the fireplace in one corner. The lack of a desk was a shame and we had hoped the room would be smarter/have more character. The bathroom was also relatively small. The beds were very comfortable. Remarkably when we got ready for bed we discovered that the room has no AC - not even a fan! We called reception and they said all the free-standing fans had been given out for the night. We managed to get one our second night but couldn't believe the lack of AC in California - the hotel is older but not so old as to not offer this. The pool was well located and of a good size. However, having been advertised as heated to 80 degrees I would say it was a lot colder. The pool hours (9am-7pm) were annoyingly restrictive, but not uncommon for outdoor pools and explained by the fact that some hotel rooms were right outside it! Breakfast was very poor - a grab and go bag with water, a piece of fruit and an unappetising, dry pastry - which forced us to go elsewhere. Overall given the range of choice and competition in Carmel, and the reasonably high room rate, we were left disappointed. The hotel lacked the character we had hoped for and needs to up its game where AC and breakfast are concerned. We would look to stay somewhere else if we returned to Carmel.

FFENGThe location is really good, clean and it is a good choice to walk to the beach. The town is perfect for a family or for a relaxing holiday. The next time there is a chance, it will pass.

HHunter YorkIt was a nice hotel the pool is heated. The breakfast says continental but it really just pastries, fruit and juice but it was good still. Be aware there is no microwave at least not in the room we got and the doors use old fashioned keys instead of key cards and have to locked by pushing the button on the inside when leaving a mistake we didn't realize till later. Otherwise its a nice hotel and a short walk into town.

GGuest UserOne of the most gorgeous Hyatt properties that I’ve been to. Beautiful ocean view, quaint yet modern rooms, lots of plants, close by to point lobos state park, Carmel, Monterey, Big Sur. 2 bedroom units are spacious enough for 2 adults and 2 adult kids. Heated swimming pool during the winter is a plus. Gym is good more for aerobic exercises than weight training but weights and machines are available. BBQ grill available to use, and Safeway is only a mile away. Highly recommended.

BBAOFENGHotel location is good, just beside the town. Breakfast is relatively simple, two breads, two fruits, one orange juice, two small yoghurts, placed in the bag at the door in the morning. The hotel has a parking lot, because I haven’t checked out yet, I don’t know if I can charge it. The two sides of the road are similar hotels. The most satisfying part of this hotel is that there is no sound in the air conditioner, which is rare in the United States.

GGuest UserThe location was good assuming you had a car but do not rely on public transport. The hotel--motel was clean and well decorated and pool area well kept. The problems started with reception who were not very well informed. Could not give information on bus services and even gave wrong location for the bus stop. Before leaving I wanted to check in to two airlines. One receptionist said no problem but when I went to do it on the day another receptionist said it was against hotels privacy policy??? I then had to find a business centre and pay $40 to do ckeck in. Food / Bar was adequate but not available Sat--Mon. We were there for a week and on two days were advised there would be no room service. On a third day we had to request fresh towels as the room had been missed. I do not think the bed linen was changed during our whole stay. The biggest issue I had was with the finance department. ON settling the final account I decided to pay fully in cash and not use the debit card they had taken on arrival. On return home I found two debits on my card one for £270 which had no relation to any services. The second for £493 which was for the total bill paid for in cash. after telephone calls not responded to and four e-mails I eventually got the accountant to credit the money back a month later. still awaiting a call from Mary the manager to explain why they had taken money from my account without athorisation

LLastMinuteTravellerLocation is good since it is located near entrance to big Sur. It is a motel so do not expect much but it is still considered clean for a motel. The guy who attended us for our check-in is very helpful.. No complimentary water in room and no kettle for boiling hot water (which I think it's very important during the winter). Coffee, tea and hot water are available at check in office.

YYUEThe biggest advantage is that the room is big and the bed is very comfortable, but the room facilities are like an old house in the 80s. Breakfast is only a simple breakfast such as coffee and yoghurt. Even the eggs are not likely to be expensive. Carmel is worth more than two hundred dollars.
