The Estes Park Resort

We were a little disappointed in the size of the room. The pictures make it look so much bigger. The internet was terribly slow, making looking for things to do around town a little frustrating. Otherwise, the front desk people were very helpful guiding us to places to visit and different places to eat. Overall, a very nice place to go and stay. They can’t help what the weather is going to be.

Staff was friendly, views were outstanding and there were about 100 elk when we drove in!

Indoor pool was pictured on reservation, only to find out a few years ago it was flooded and turned into a spa. Did not make for a happy 8 year old! I asked about canceling the room do to misrepresentation, they said I would be charged one nights room and tax, their policy. Wont be back.

The resort was beautiful and had breathtaking scenery. The supper was delicious but the breakfast was mediocre. The rooms were noisy and you could hear both your neighbors and conversations in the hallway. The spa services were not readily available to book the day of or the next morning so we chose the check-in package. This included a foot soak, massage chair, and sauna. While nice, it felt like a cheap alternative to actual spa services. The massage chairs felt very claustrophobic.

Difficult to find parking if an event (wedding, etc) is happening. Garden "view" is of concrete and gravel. Fine if you know what you're in for, but certainly not worth $400 a night. Dunraven restaurant has suffered with the new ownership as far as food quality/taste, but the service I had was excellent; and it was lovely having a drink on the outside terrace as the sun set.

Property sits on the lake and we had a great view even though we were on the first floor. The room we stayed in was plenty modern considering its rustic roots. Anyone whining about it not being modern must be used to ultra-mod hotels in a major city...this is not that. Everything worked as it should and we had no complaints even with the bathroom sink being outside the bathroom. The only issue we ran into was a lack of staffing for the lunch time at the restaurant and so we had to go in town for lunch. Around dusk a large bull elk walked right across our path while outside and then a small herd was down around the lake...pretty great.

Beautiful views of the lake and lots of wildlife right outside our window.

This is my second time staying here. I love it! Such a great location, great staff. I’ve enjoyed my stay both times and would definitely stay here again.

Property needs a refresh. Rooms and fixtures are very dated. Restaurant was good.
