Stayed on a Friday night for just the 1 night . The host Ned was very welcoming and polite. Had a meal in the restaurant which was very nice. Room was very nice. The bed was amazingly comfortable. Shower was brilliant too. Breakfast in the morning was a small portion but very nice. Would highly recommend this stay.

After a really bad experience in a nearby hotel which resulted in us leaving and not staying the night we stumbled upon this hotel and we are so thankful, what an amazing place. The staff are so friendly and go above and beyond the food is exceptional, fantastic evening meal and breakfast. The rooms are beautiful, we had a look at the garden rooms before leaving Wow!! We will definitely be back soon.

The accommodation was beautiful. The room spacious, fully equipped luxurious and spotlessly clean, the Bed linen was lovely quality and the mattress lovely and comfortable. The food was amazing, I had the fish pie, it was the best fish pie I’ve tasted, the breakfast was local fresh quality produce, the bar is very well stocked and the staff were very helpful, in fact they went above and beyond after a disastrous start getting our car locked away in a car park, they even came to pick us up as taxis are difficult to come by. I give this place an 10 star + ⭐️ and will be visiting again soon I hope

We travel often and the hotel was excellent and very reasonably priced. Rooms far exceeded our expectations, were very well appointed and spotlessly clean, but the genuine warmth from the staff was amazing. Visiting son at Catterick Garrison and will definitely stay here on our next visit.

Visited the Wyvill Arms today for the 1st time for Sunday lunch. 7 adults who ordered a variety of items from the menu including goats cheese, prawns and a cauliflower dish for starters, fish and chips, chicken, lamb and beef sirloin mains, and 3 of us just about managing to fit in a dessert, which were all great! All of the service was excellent, warm and friendly without being overly familiar. Every element of every course was absolutely delicious, beef cooked to perfection and as ordered ie medium and medium rare both spot on, lamb perfect, all sides really good and complimented the main dishes. There were also some nice details like each of the roast dinners coming with their own gravy, so lamb gravy with lamb etc, and what must have been home made horseradish and mint sauce. Portion sizes were large, but prices very reasonable. Great location, lovely restaurant and bar, welcoming and friendly staff, and fantastic food. Very highly recommended!

We had booked Sunday lunch for my wife’s birthday. On arrival we were met by very polite staff who showed us to our table. We were in a room on our own on the route to the toilets so had glaring eyes on us every time other customers used the facilities. The room was uncomfortably cold and the background music was too loud. Our dinner order came out promptly, one pork and one beef. It was nicely cooked but for the money there was not very much. When the plates and vegetable dishes go back empty you would think the staff might take a hint. There was a very limited choice of zero alcohol beer, I asked for Guinness but was only offered Peroni. After our main course we asked for the dessert menu, all priced at £8.95. By now we were so cold at our table we skipped dessert, paid and left. We certainly won’t be returning to the Wyvill Arms.

What an absolutely fantastic place to stay. Owners and staff are of the highest quality, as is their food. I have travelled all over the world and The Wyvill Arms is in the top two. Exceptional food and quality local ingredients, Nigel cooks to perfection from his heart, with a passion for excellence, not only for the restaurant meals but also the varied choices for breakfasts, which I must say are delicious and filling. A special thanks must also go to Vicky and Ned, fantastic customer service. Thank you all, definitely be back.

Wow what a restaurant! I had the most amazing food here, and the service was top class. My little dog was welcomed in as well. I will definitely visit this area again on holiday, purely for this restaurant. Thank you for a lovely evening.
