M Hotel Ljubljana

Ljubljana|2.63km from Slovenija v srednjem veku
This is a little story about how important is front of house and that customer service is essential to run a hotel. I can assure I am not a Karen in any way and I am not easy to be annoyed. We came on a business trip for 1 night only, exhausted from the car ride from another side of Slovenia. We came about 5 pm, with 20 degrees and full sunshine outside beaming through glass windows of the hotel. Although it says the hotel has air conditioning after we informed the reception that it doesn’t work, our receptionist ( who looks like she had a bad day) explained that IT IS WINTER. And the air conditioning is not turned on in the whole hotel. Use the windows instead. We then dreamt about the coffee. Not a single kettle to use in the whole hotel, restaurant closed. We couldn’t even buy a bottle of water (no water in the room). We went to town. We received a parking hob with a £20 deposit for the parking space and at night before our very busy departure I wanted to return it. I have been told that I have to unpark my car in the morning, put the parking block up, LEAVE THE CAR IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STREET with no alternative parking available, get myself back to the hotel desk and then give it back. When I said it is quite problematic to do in the morning this way I would like to return tonight, I got reprimanded, rudely, that I have to do it otherwise my deposit will not be given back. I then heard her slagging me off in Slovenian when I was waiting for the elevator. I hope someone takes notes for the staff training… The room was clean and cosy, slightly small to my liking but good value for money.

The rooms are independent and the ”hostel” gives a level of security. You can use the common kitchen (small fridge on each floor) which looked ok. The room was clean. The beams were beautiful but the room was tiny, there was very little space to stand in (I am 1.77). The quality of the mattress (of the single bed - which I tried) pillows and bedding was poor. For the entire time I spend there (Tue - Wed) the common toilet smelled horribly and the floor was sticky - not properly cleaned- to the point I avoided using it as much as possible. I stayed there at the end of September, I do not know how they handle it in peak season. I booked the accommodation directly from their website for 55 EUR for a night, but as I have seen the same rooms in platforms selling for 70-90 EUR per night, I had higher expectations. Due to its proximity to the center and the comparison of the cost for other accommodation, for one or max two nights its OK, but definitely not more.

Simply the best hotel experience I could imagine. Not only is the location perfect, and the rooms comfortable and very clean, but there is a gorgeous rooftop pool and deck and a fabulous restaurant downstairs. In the price of the room is an over the top breakfast (in USA standards at least). We couldn’t believe we got a sit down breakfast with a waiter with the price of the room. It was quite the treat. On top of the amenities, we were in a bit of a sticky situation and the front desk staff helped us through it all. They were so kind and friendly and we felt completely taken care of. I can’t say enough good things about this hotel and the people who work there. Top notch!

This is a really nice little hotel in the heart of Llubljana's historic centre. Our room in the annex at the back was spacious and well-equipped for a three-star hotel. The staff helped us organize affordable parking (no easy feat in Ljubljana!) and located a restaurant for us (many were closed because of the Covid crisis.) A really pleasant stay

The best place we have stayed at for cleanliness, service, helpfulness and location. We were leaving on a tour early and couldn’t make breakfast so the staff arranged for us the pick some sandwiches, fruit and a drink the night before. We arrived on a Sunday when no shops were open and needed washing powder. Some was dropped up in minutes despite reception being closed. The restaurant below was good value and delicious. Apartment was big and quiet. Location to the castle and Old Town was a stones throw away.

The location is very good, inside the pedestrian street, the sights can be reached on foot. There is an underground toll parking lot. It is funny that after we check out, we can drive directly to the card and can’t go out. We rushed to the hotel and asked to know, after 20 minutes of check-out!

The hotel is well located, for the quality of the material and structure (bed and shower with 10 and praise), but in a fantastic position directly on the channel. The bathroom is very comfortable But ... both the bathroom and the room are blind (in all not more than 15 mq) and if we add that the room , double , is smaller than the room of a ferry, This solution can be good if it is through and for not more than one night, and I add the most important. The structure was selected with a ”included breakfast” filter, and the applet extracts it and suggests it but I would say ... in a misleading way, as it is planned as a payment service at a ”modic” price of €20,00 per person (we were in 6!). In my view, the fact that there is a breakfast possibility would be discount and should not appear among the ”included breakfast” offers Last report. Leaving in the hall almost at the entrance. nice and comfortable staff. Pretentious hotel, creating expectations ... partly ”delusion”
