3-Star Hotels in London

The morning after our first night my friend and I noticed a bug crawling on one of the beds, we continued our investigation and noticed DOZENS of those crawling all over the twin beds we just spent the night in. We were exhausted the night before after coming back to hotel late and after having shower just jumped straight into beds - who would have thought we weren’t they only ones spending night in those beds! Quick research after our findings and we realised that those were BEDBUGS! Never in my life had I come across anything like this before, not even after being a student and staying at questionable hostels! We reported this to the reception and were offered another room. We didn’t move immediately in the morning and made an agreement that we would move in the evening when we would be back to the hotel. Coming back in the evening and reporting to the reception for a new room, we found one of the evening staff being rude to us and questioning if the bedbugs were from their hotel (like what?!?!?!?). Simple, we said, because we had photo and video evidence of bedbugs crawling all over the beds, we said! This quickly ended her argument with us. We then moved to our new room, where there was no obvious evidence of bedbug infestation, however being a reportedly new room, we found hair all over the floor in the bathroom of that allegedly “cleaned” new room. Unfortunately, being an extremely sensitive to cleanness person and following the events of the previous night, I decided to leave early and not spent another night in this disgusting hotel. My friend, who had a flight early next morning however had no chance and spend a little longer and left at 04am. The evening I decided to leave I started coming out in rash, which had only been getting worse ever since. The intensity of the itch is like nothing I’d ever experienced before - it stops me from sleeping, it drives me absolutely mad, no matter how much I try, one can’t look professional when they have bite marks all over their body, including the face, ears, neck, fingers, hands, forearms - ie areas one can’t cover up - and needing to constantly scratch herself! This obviously has affected my work! And the itch is no better even 6 days later!! In fact, the bite marks are now swollen, causing swelling of my fingers, the scratch marks are now bleeding and I am the most irritated I’ve ever been! Let me emphasise, this is six days later and I genuinely don’t know how much longer I’m yet to suffer! I have obviously filed a complaint and have been contacted by the hotel - they are “kindly” offering to compensate the cost of my medication (as I am now on antihistamines - which don’t work really, as I can’t take the stronger type due to its sedating effect, as I have to continue working and driving; as well as steroid cream) and the cost of my dry cleaning. HOWEVER, despite multiple email exchanges and telephone consultations, they are not planning to refund a 100% of our payment, the argument being

I lived in this hotel for the first time in the UK. The experience was very good at the time, the hotel is in a good location and cost-effective, so I thought I would choose to stay here afterwards. I wanted to book a room in advance for the second time this time, but chose a lot of dates without a room. Later only accessible rooms were available. Think about staying alive for two nights. Because one of them happens to be a New Year's Eve, it goes without saying that the price is not cost-effective. The room I gave was facing the street, and I didn't sleep well after a night of noisy. And this time the service attitude was very average. Retaining luggage is also reluctant. The front desk was also lazy. In short, I won't come next time. In the end, a penny is a penny, and a willingness to spend money on Mayfair's Marriott.

Lovely hotel and excellent restaurant. All staff were excellent, our waitress Mikhaela was lovely. Knows her job and very efficient. Food was excellent too. Bar staff were happy and made good cocktails. Overall experience great. Highly recommended.

I booked this place originally due to going to a concert at Wembley Stadium. It looked on maps to be in a good location between the stadium and my arrival and departure station. (Liverpool Street). The location from the tube station is fabulous, it’s around a 3 minute walk. The hotel from the outside doesn’t look much, but on the inside it’s a clean, modern, comfortable hotel. Our room smelt and looked brand new. The bed had a firm mattress, we had extra pillows that were super soft. Security at the hotel was good. We arrived back around 1:30am and was asked for proof of residency before being allowed in to the hotel. I like that. Breakfast was available for £14.99 per person. There is a small coffee shop too on the lower floor. This wasn’t open whilst we were at the hotel, but we did arrive late in the day. There is a vending machine for chargers, plasters etc…what I would have liked is a food vending machine as arrived back a little hungry…don’t get me wrong there is shops within a 5 minute walk, I just wanted it in the comfort of the hotel. I would recommend the hotel and I’d definitely stay here again, it was a great price compared to a lot of other places.

To whom it may concern I wish to complain about my experience with the Canary Wharf point A hotel on the 24th of March. I was very disappointed with the service and lack of professionalism members of staff showed me and my friends during our short time at the hotel. Firstly, we got told to turn the music down which I totally understand and respected, after turning the music right down we get another knock on the door and once again it was security and a female member of staff claiming we were doing drugs and smoking (which really upset and offended me as I have recently lost a close friend to drug use). I offered them to come and search the room to prove we had no drugs and weren’t smoking but they were having none of it and told us we had to leave. To make it even worse they also made my other two friends leave who were in a totally separate room with no reason or evidence of this supposed drug use and smoking. I tried explaining that we have travelled from Sunderland and would be stranded with no where to stay but I was ignored and told to leave. Before we left the same female member of staff told us the manager has told them to make us leave she then gave us a card with a number to get hold of the manager which we rung immediately after leaving. If our experience with the hotel and service wasn’t bad enough, we then get told on the phone there’s no manager in the building which makes me believe the manager never told anyone to kick us out. In total we spent around 2 hours in the hotel and when I asked about getting a refund I got totally blanked and ignored. I have also emailed Canary Wharf point A hotel to express my disappointment with how we were treated but have not received a reply at this moment. This is a very nice hotel, in a prime location. As I was visiting for a stint in the National Archives in Kew, it was ideally placed for me between That and the super busy inner city. The rooms are small but comfortable. The whole place is squeeky clean, which was more important for me than size - I did not plan to be in the room other than for sleeping. The area is teeming with nice cafés tto grab breakfast, which I usually prefer anyway to eating at the hotel. The rooms could do well with a small fridge, even though I am not a minibar user. The staff are super nice and helpful, I really felt welcome.

What a find, a lovely classic hotel overlooking Blackheath absolutely perfect for our visit to our daughter who lives nearby. Really kind and helpful staff, from Josh who helped with our luggage on arrival to all reception staff, restaurant and bar staff thank you for making our weekend so comfortable and enjoyable. I stayed in room 54 on the 2nd floor for one night before a 07.30 hospital appointment at St George's. The hotel/residence, is in the grounds of the hotel and there aren't many spaces to stop and unload. The door is immediately on the left as you turn in from Blackhaw Road so could be easily missed at night. The room was spotlessly clean, the double glazing worked well to keep road noise out and the bed was super comfy. The bathroom was and shower were fine and the place was secure, never seen so many CCTV cameras in a building.! Not sure if they provide breakfast etc but for £64 for a double room I think it's great value. Literally a 2 minute walk to the hospital so it's ideal for a stay if visiting. It's not a long walk to many restaurants and pubs etc and I did see a Deliveroo driver at the door of you want to stay in. The TV has Netflix and Amazon Prime etc so bring your login and passwords.

Stayed with work for 3 nights. Very basic which is fine. The room doesn’t have a fridge, the kettle facilties were not changed each day, so my cup which had tea left in wasn’t changed over and the coffee and tea wasn’t topped up daily either. My dinner that came out was half cooked. There was just 2 of us in the restaurant, and took over 30mins for my ribs and chips to come out. No offer of any sauces etc. the ribs were extremely fatty and grisly. The chips were not properly cooked, when I asked for some vinegar they didn’t have any??… I wouldn’t come back and stay!

We were only in London for a couple of days and did not intend to stay in the hotel much. Point A in Paddington fit the bill--convenient location, without the typical back-breaking hotel rates in a major city. It was obvious the hotel was renovated fairly recently. Our room was comfortable but tiny! Even smaller than our cruise ship cabin, because there is no closet. This means no good place to put your luggage either. And it was windowless--again a first for us for hotel rooms. Just like our cruise cabin! Fortunately we were there only to sleep and bath. The front desk staff were friendly and check-in was quick. We didn't try their breakfast (which was extra cost). Instead, we found wonderful eateries within walking distance. There was a weird glitch in their system that canceled our key cards on the day of check (while we were out for breakfast), even though we hadn't checked out yet! The hotel provided wi-fi, which connected quickly and reliably. We were very grateful for that!
