First time in Mauritius & certainly did not disappoint ! Check in process with iced tea & cold flannels to refresh very welcome ! Lovely large garden room - housekeeping staff kept the place spotless - bedding changed every other day & towels & toiletries as required along with bottled water . Ate in all the a la carte restaurants - no complaints - disappointed to read comments about hygiene in buffet restaurant - house keeping staff were permanantly cleaning up after diners had finished their meals - & there was certainly some mess to clear up at times !! Having been to other AI resorts where there are trees & foliage near the dining area birds & insects are always going to be around - however chefs were always walking around checking food ….. wobbly tables - C’est la vie !!! The staff are a huge asset - lovely people including Vinay,Ramesh,Innesh,Josh & Suraj . All in all a lovely sun soaked holiday🏝️🍹 -

We stayed at OceanV, Grand Baie for 7 nights and we absolutely LOVED our stay. We took the “all inclusive” package and I can really recommend this option as this really makes the entire holiday more enjoyable, no need to stress about paying for any drinks, lunch, afternoon tea or dinner. Inclusive package review: You get a set menu for lunch and dinner which is always decent. My wife is a fussy eater but always managed to find something to eat. For dinner you can also choose options off the main menu which helps when the kitchen is a bit adventurous with the set menu. The drinks that are included are three types of beer, three types of wine, 8/9 cocktails and three mocktails as well as a wide range of cooldrink and hot beverages. This was really sufficient and if you do want to try anything else, you can always just order from the bar. Room and service review: The staff is extremely friendly and always helpful. The room was perfect, amazing view of the sea and an aircon that we had on the entire time and worked perfectly. The staff cleaned the room and bathroom everyday, no complaints, just compliments. Trips/Excursions: We did not use the hotel’s recommended service providers as they were a bit expensive. We went on a catamaran trip, initially using the hotel connection but after they cancelled we were able to find Coral Belle, a very professional catamaran trip company who have three catamaran’s that go to the islands every day, they have a little shop in sunset boulevard - HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! We took the bus everywhere, Grand Baie for shopping and Port Louis for the day trip - really worth it regarding the price 24 rs from Pereybere to Grand Baie and 44 rs from Pereybere to Port Louis. Recommended to wait for the express bus to Port Louis if you can, the normal bus takes a quite while longer. Finally, the beach is walking distance, 300m, and we were able to walk around to the beach right in front of the hotel for privacy and less crowded. All Round: We would come back and recommend!!!

The hotel is very cost effective and personally feels good. Suitable for ”poor travel”, about 5 kilometers from Super Bay in Dawan, you can take the bus in the past (82 road, tell him where to go, look at the map, when you arrive, you have to press the bell to get off, not too language Easy), most hotels in Mao Ball are basically inconvenient to go out. If the hotel calls a taxi more than 1000 rupees, I used the bus only 24 rupees. . . These days I went to the supermarket to buy steaks (very good, all of Australia) tiger shrimps, and I made them myself (the hotel can be boiled (you need to buy the spices yourself), the restaurant that cooperates with the hotel is very difficult to eat, just past Hungry for a day, I ordered a 340 rupees fried rice, but don't eat if you eat 2). . Breakfast is a bit unexpected and can be said to be very satisfying. Nice environment, there is a swimming pool, then next to the big Mon Choisy Beach, the cleaning is not bad. . This is an excellent, inexpensive resort to stay on the East Coast of Mauritius. I loved hotel's activities and staff services. Whilst I wouldn't stay there on a honeymoon because it lacks the romantic atmosphere that some of the 5 starts hotels have ( luxurious flowers, etc) I will always consider returning for a holiday break. The waves on the East Coast are stronger comparing to the West coast, making swimming little bit more challenging, however the water is very clean. Highly recommended.

The hotel has a private beach with large shallow water and very safe. The breakfast is excellent, with many varieties and good taste; the main street is more than a hundred meters away from the hotel. The restaurants and supermarkets are very convenient. There are also Chinese restaurants. Larger restaurants have singers to add to the fun, and they are very emotional.

Where shall I start...Our stay way pretty perfect! Most of you know Mauritius for the big hotel areas, so it was an absolute miracle that we found this lil gem on the island. We had a wonderful 9 days at the SALT of Palmar. We loved that it was super tiny, and very familiar, every corner had a special detail and the service was superb. The staff really makes you feel at home. If you are looking for a Mandarin Oriental Standard, then this won't be the right one. But what this hotel had, is a lot of soul and personality. Rooms: Book a room with a sea view. We had one, but I would say that that's the magic of it. You will realize quite fast that the hotel is refurbished, so here and there you see that it's not 100% up to date, but it really doesn't matter. The rooms were super clean, and spacious and had a great personalized interior. Housekeeping in the morning and also for turndown service did a great job. Thanks to the team! You will see that TV is missing and also Mini-Bars, but that's why you have chosen a Lil boutique hotel over a big chain. Beach: The beach is beautiful, clean, and located around the corner, so u don't get the feeling that it's getting crowded with too many guests, what I loved. The pool is nice, but there could be more sunbeds. Be aware that you are on the eastern side, so when u arrive in August or September, it's very windy and may get chilly. While in November, you will be happy to have the breeze. Snorkelling: Yes, you can snorkel, and you will see fish. But don't expect reef-like on the Maledives for sure. Food: ONE OF A KIND. If you are looking for endless buffets and a big choice just to look at, this won't be your cup of tea. The food was just amazing. Very individualized menu, a big variety. We didn't eat twice the same. The breakfast menu was outstanding and so was the coffee (which usually always sucks in hotels). Nevertheless, you have to say that if you wanna dishes outside the included menu or wines, they are quite expensive (even for Europeans). The only experience, where we were not really stunned, was the cocktails at any point. Watery, not really strong etc. Foodservice: A very big thanks to the service team. you made our experience stunning, also the way you took care of my parents and everything around my mom's birthday. OUr warmest thanks to Vidusha!! But also to Vinesh, Med, Vajna and Vashish (I Hope I got the names right) We hop to see you soon!
