Hotel Wojtyla

We stayed here with a group tour. We were checked in by the tour and assigned a room. We had a number of interactions with the hotel staff and every one of those interactions was great! The staff at Wojtyla are excellent. We had a room with two twin beds, a desk/chair and a good size bathroom with counter space around the sink. The room was somewhat small, but good enough. The room was very clean and the hallway and stairs were also very clean. In fact, I saw someone mopping the floors just about every day. We ate breakfast and dinner at the restaurant almost every day and the food was quite good. Breakfast was served buffet style and dinner was served on a platter, family style, for each table. There was plenty of food, in fact we rarely were able to finish the dishes. If you can’t eat a particular dish, if you notify them in advance, they prepare something different. For example, I don’t eat pork and so on the days that pork was served, they brought me chicken. One of the best things about this hotel is its location. You can exit from the dining room out the back door and you are just a 1-2 minute walk, if that much, from the yellow hall of the main church – St. James. It is a great location for going back and forth to the church, which you will do a lot of in Medjugorje. There is also a rooftop area where you get very good views of Cross Mountain and there is plenty of seating and some tables for groups. Our group decided to say the Rosary on the rooftop after dinner and on the one sunny evening, several in our group saw the miracle of the sun from the rooftop.
