Buyer beware! It's great that you can pay at the property and all, but the one thing Kimpton Palomar does not tell you in the fine print is that when you give them your CC for ”Authorization” you are actually giving the property the right to charge you when they want, how they want, the amount they want without your knowledge. Upon checking-in, the incompetent receptionist by the name of Daniela failed to inform me that 60% of the security deposit has already been charged to the CC on file and that the balance of the security deposit would be charged immediately after checking in. Afterward, I was charged the full amount of the 3 night stay and asked for the security deposit ($150 per night, totaling $450!) Since I travel often, I always put any security deposits in a separate CC as I know these amounts can take sometimes take weeks to be released back to the card. At this point, the incompetent Daniela should have realized that the security deposit had already been charged, but she insisted on a form of payment. I did as I was instructed and went on my way to the room. A pro-tip: Alway video the room the way you find it so that when the mystery charges appear on your bill, you have proof that you did not do/use/consumed what they claim you did. After arriving in the room, I decided to check my account to make sure the correct payment was charged. To my surprise, I have been charged the security deposit (split into two uneven payments) and the full cost of the room for my entire stay, along with the full security deposit of $450 to my other CC. I went to the lobby where Daniela quickly handed me over the manager on duty, Vinny. Since I am bilingual, I spoke to Vinny in English. He did not realize I understood Spanish, and began asking Daniella what she did wrong and why she did the transaction the way she did. I finally entered the conversation in Spanish and Daniella removed herself and began ”helping” another guest. Vinny took the time to explain the error that Daniela made but never apologized. Daniela in-turn, gives me a side-ways ”I'm Sorry” and goes on her way. After a 10 minute discussion about policies, authorizations, payment, security deposits, etc, Vinny gave me a full refund of the Room Charges and additional security deposit so we can start all over and only pay the room charge. Unfortunately, the ”refund of the Authorization” did not reverse immediately...it took 8 business day for that to occur. I decided to let the refund post onto my account and give it a day. The following day, I see that I am now being charged by the night (since they have my CC on file and can do what they want with it) but the refund is nowhere in sight. I once again speak with Vinny and he tells me that he fixed the mistakes of others and that it is up to the financial institution now and I should contact them directly. I told him I had already spoken with my financial institution and they told me it is up to the merchant to release the refund. I re

If it is a transitional night, it should be more cost-effective, free parking, long-term stay, it is not appropriate, the bed is a foreign old-fashioned bed, especially soft, small room. Sanitation conditions are also very far-fetched.

I feel the need to contribute an honest and transparent review. I booked my stay at Greenview - WEEKS PRIOR to falling upon the Tripadvisor reviews for this hotel. I read these overwhelming reviews days before checking in and they had me scared that I was walking myself into a nightmare stay. I decided to make my own mind and stay anyway - and I am glad I did. Upon arrival on a Tuesday morning (10am), the check in staff member was VERY nice and immediately took my bags to hold. March is a busy month in South Beach, so I didn't expect to have a room that early so I planned to do work in the lobby or a coffee shop. This hotel is located right off the Lincoln road mall so I actually decided to post at one of the nearby Starbucks locations. By the time my work was finished it was 2pm and I walked back to the hotel to check on the status of an early check in - and to my surprised my room was ready. I was on second level, #204 - the check in staff ensured I was in a room away from the nearby construction. I held my breath as I walked into my room - and to my great surprise, it was great. The floors are wood, the AC unit was working (blowing cold) and looked fairly new. I don't like cold, so I turned my unit off and didn't need to turn it on the entire stay. The room was like the picture of 2 full beds, same colors on the wall (green/teal). It is a little dim at night - but there was plenty of light and light fixtures to turn on. There was a nice flat screen tv with cable channels. The window was nice and large with a black out blind and sheer curtains. The black out blinds actually caused me to sleep so well the first night I woke up late! The bed is very comfortable, I had plenty of clean linens and pillows. The room was spacious, there was a separate small walk in closet with plenty of shelving, and hanger space as well as a personal safe. The room had a desk, chair and a small fridge. Bathroom was adequate with a spacious step in shower. I had plenty of towels in the bathroom as well as back stocked in the closet. The amenities were premium. Overall the room was clean, spacious, comfortable and equipped. It did not smell - this was my greatest fear from these bad review - as I have an acute sense of smell. I did not have or see any bugs at any time during my stay. Actually, the cleaning staff were ALWAYS working. I woke very early on days to run and so I was in and out the room a lot and I witnessed the cleaning staff constantly cleaning & servicing neighboring rooms. Now was the room and hotel BRAND NEW AND PRISTINE?? There are scratches on the wood flooring, wall paint and furniture - but scratches isn't filth. The tiles in the bathroom aren't brand new - they look to be original to the old construction of the building...but again, cracks and not being new, doesn't mean it's filthy just older. And if you're familiar with South Beach, or actually Miami as a whole for that matter - for the price point of ”brand new an

I was going to spend a night in,Miami beach . Low budget in a hostal , coz I would be out doors most of the time . I been in 100 s of hostal travelling all over the world So I didn't read the little letters, coz most hostals are easy peasy chill and flexible I arrive at this hostal at reception , I had paid my booking with PayPal as I always do . They tell me than that there is a 20 $ deposit to be paid on a credit or debit card. I have a Dutch account and debit card from VISA PAY from my birth country but although it is a well known bank in Europe ,and everywhere in Europe it's accepted and even in Mexico and Colombia. It is not accepted in the US. So I could not pay for the deposit , and they would not accept cash, so I had to cancel the reservation and also it was not refundable . To be honest , it was a very basic hostal , with nothing there of great value. Why the deposit anyway , are guests so demolitions in Miami beach ? And shouldnt a hostal or hotel be covered by insurance for damages? Coz I see this over and over in other accommodations only so far in Miami Luxury hotels asking for a 500 $ deposit when staying there? It is mind blowing, I have never been asked for a deposit in my life Also the weirdest thing , they would ask at reception at Bed and Drinks hostal for a return or onwards ticket leaving the country. If you don't have proof of that , your stay will be cancelled For security reasons are they making this stuff up or what?! Bottom line , if they insist on deposits , they should at least have a terminal that accept ALL cards , Miami Is a Multi international city and should have more paying options. Although I still think it's way out of line to ask guests for deposits it is discrimination. It makes me very suspicious, about what is done with all those ” deposits ” money on hold . I hope they don't play around with that on stock markets or cryptocurrency ...... Freedom of speech

The second stay, I booked the wrong room in a hurry, and found out after I checked in. The staff was very enthusiastic to help me change the room and have been comforting me. Because I came back late to Miami Beach, after dinner time, I thought I couldn't eat it, but the kitchen left dinner for the late guests, which was very touched.

1. The hotel service is average, and there is no service; 2. The lady at the front desk speaks Spanish, but English is difficult to understand; 3. The buffet breakfast is bread and drinks. You can bake your own bread and make your own waffles-this is ok; 4. , The location is not bad, surrounded by restaurants, a few minutes walk in the evening is the food street-15th Street to the north is a food street, or walk to the beach, 10 minutes to the west is also a food entertainment street; 5, parking, The waiter said 25USD a day. But turn left from the hotel to the left on the 16th street is a public parking lot, 16 USD 24 hours a day; 6, Ctrip quotes have problems: there is an additional tax XX under the quote when booking, generally speaking, all taxes and fees are included, but it is here The hotel was also charged 59USD (2 days). The charge includes the free shuttle to and from the airport and casual calls to local telephones - I drove by myself, so I couldn't use it at all. Despise it. 7. Suggestion: For a trip to Miami, stay here for one night in Miami Beach, and go to other places in the back. 8, 2 nights spent more than 2,600, the price is too poor. Thank you!
