Best Hotels in Middle Smithfield Township

I was in town for one night with a friend. Booked a 2x queen for $300. We had time to grab keys, drop bags, and rush off to our plans in town about a mile walk. We drove past the property once and when we turned around realized that the hotel is offset and looked so closed and run down it didn't even catch our eye. Even the parking lot was in bad shape. Standing in front of the building, it looked dark and closed despite the sign that said open. Walking in, it was HOT. No a/c in the reception area. Warmer than outside. The place is literally in the process of being gutted. The bar/restaurant is closed and gutted. While waiting to get keys, a woman was at the desk complaining that she needed a new room -- her room had hair on the pillow and the sheets hadn't been washed. That should have been our cue to walk away. We had to grab and go so we didn't stick around. The pool area -- we were so shocked we took pictures. It looks right out of Three's Company. The outside of the room looked like a motel except it was inside. An in wall air conditioner stuck out and a big picture window. Now -- the room. Smelled like smoke. Gross. We cranked the A/C unit down and at least that worked. The room was nasty. Stains on the ceiling over the bed, a extra door that led to a hallway a behind the rooms -- weird, the bathroom was dirty. Hair on the floor, stained ceiling and sink. Really gross. We had no options so we checked the beds that seemed safe enough to sleep in and we left first thing. I contacted Hotels.com in hopes of a refund. They were less than helpful so I'll never use them again. (I couldn't write a review there because the property is already off their site.)

This place is an amazing location for my short stay of four days. But it was just amazing after a long flight to walk into a hotel and be greeted by such a welcoming individual.The rooms were immaculate . I would like to take a moment to acknowledge your employees each and everyone of them for maintaining the hotel from the amazing woman that greeted you in the morning and set up that amazing continental breakfast to everyone who maintained your room clean and checked everyday to make sure that you had enough towels. On my last day I ran into a young couple who was checking in and I just had to tell them that they did the right choice on staying at Penn Stroud. This is by far the best hotel near here and yes I have stayed in many in Pa. Thank you all for your serve and the pride that each and everyone of you did in your working capacity.❤️👏👏

Stayed at this Hampton for a wedding in the area, and we ran into many issues that make the property very hard to recommend, but let's cover the positives first. The hotel itself is in pretty good shape, with decently-sized rooms and fresh decor. No surprises here - in a sense, if you've seen one Hampton, you've seen them all, though that's not necessarily a bad thing. Front desk staff were friendly and helpful, despite the hotel being fully booked and very busy all weekend long. Onto the negatives. Our room was very dirty on arrival, with hair left on the carpets and some troubling brown streaks in the bathroom. For whatever reason, the air conditioning blew incredibly moist and wet air into the room, and even after turning the unit off, my girlfriend was left with hives and skin irritation for days afterward. A few staffers got into an expletive-filled screaming match as breakfast was closing down one day, which isn't a good look for a property that targets families. I brought all of this to management's attention as we left, and I sincerely hope everything was addressed. If this hotel wasn't part of the pre-booked wedding block, we'd have checked out early and stayed somewhere else. This was a pretty unpleasant experience for everyone in our room, but reviews for this property seem positive overall, so your mileage may vary; if you stay here, maybe think twice before running the air conditioning.

The room is great! Love the space. But the soundproofing is horrible. I’m not one to complain about normal hotel room noises but our room is actually shaking. It sounds like a herd of elephants are running around in the room above us. And I don’t mean occasionally I mean the whole time I’m sitting here. I understand if there are little kids, but this is ridiculous. They must be jumping off the furniture. And the hotel can’t be built very well if it’s this loud. For the cost I expect better. I would have given 5 stars without noise.

When my Family travel to the Poconos we always stay at this Fairfield Inn & Suites location. Our last stay, two weekends ago, was my Birthday and part of the celebration included cards and a present for me. When we arrived home, I realized that I left my cards and present. I immediately contacted the hotel and was informed that the staff had retrieved my cards and gift and brought them to the Front Desk. I requested to have them mailed to me. Ms. Kendy Castillo, the General Manager, called me to confirm the mailing information. To my surprise, I received my cards and gift within five (5) days. I would like to commend Ms. Castillo and staff for their continued exemplary service!

We had the best time! We honestly did not want to leave. When I was booking the room, I decided to call to get a better understanding on things. I talked to a Vanessa. She took such good care of me! When we got there our CXO Jess was the best! She made our stay great! Honestly, I can't say enough great things! I decorated our room in sunflowers and leaves like our wedding. So please enjoy our pictures! We look forward to returning!!

We were in town today to pick up our daughter from International Gymnastics Camp and our 2 sons tomorrow from International Sports Camp so we stayed here due to being less than 20 minutes away from the camps this is by far one of the lowest standard hotels I have stayed in. For the price this hotel is very below the Hilton standards I have stayed in to become a Gold Member. I was allowed to check in early thanks to the young lady at the front desk this morning but was not greeted as a honors member at all. Now the problems: this hotel has no microwave in the room at least ours Hotel feels and looks outdated especially the gym with the leaking ceiling There was no sweet shop visible to purchase snacks/drinks only saw a couple of soda machines on the floors The refrigerators in the room did not get cold The carpet in the room was dirty as you can see spots and the bathroom was not cleaned well The doors have a gap where you can see light and the hallway The tv is a joke super small for 2022/the remote didn’t work half the time There was no visible workstation with the standard desktop and printer Hilton usually offers in the hotels The hotel is tucked away in a residential neighborhood The evening shift the lady and the guy tonight we’re to busy laughing and joking to acknowledge the guest Will probably skip breakfast in the morning due to how this hotel feels. Save your money and go to the other Hilton it looks more modern online.
