Best Hotels in Monmouth County

This hotel is impeccable, the only issue is the entire hotel stinks Like weed to the point its nauseating. And I usually don't hate the smell, but overkill here. They take such pride in this hotel I can't believe they'd allow it. If I was the manager I'd kick anyone smoking out. There's balconies that can be used in each room to smoke on. The hotel is really really beautiful like a boutique hotel. Great breakfast as well.

first room I booked was beautiful.. just like the picture.. but so hot.. the temp never went below 74 degrees.. I read the reviews and others complained about the air conditioner as well.. i said maybe I get a good room with no problem.. I went downstairs sweating make up burning my face and told the lady and she moved me to a different room immediately.. the next room was gourgeous as well buttt!!!!! the act temperature did not move pass 72 degrees ... was a horrible night for me .. my asthma cut up bad.. sweating and poor air quality dusty room and carpets need shampooing.. i brought my asthma machine thank God or I wouldv had to to er.. had to ask for amenities microwave etc.. pool close at 6pm and no breakfast not even a bag breakfast.. I even had to pay for Wi-Fi.. the lady at the desk said they email me about my stay but I'm still waiting. was a horrible stay.. had to kill a killer gnat chased me and my daughter around the room wanting our food.. coughed so much from that no air conditon.. poor air quality.. dirty filter in AC unit and carpet that need shampooing that i threw up and just waited for check out.. left sweating make up into my eyelids!!! underarms and shirt was drenched..this was two weeks ago!!

We stayed at the hotel because we attended a birthday party and did not want to deal with an hour and a half drive back home. We pre checked in via the Hilton app. As soon as we arrived we headed for our room. The staff at the counter greated us with a smile as we rushed to the elevator. When we went back out, to get to our party, the staff at the counter waived goodnight. When we returned back to the hotel, we stopped at the front desk to get a key for the room, the staff was polite, and friendly. The room was clean and large in size. Overall we had a great stay.

I switched to this hotel for a weekend business trip at the last minute from one down the street, and I am SO GLAD I did. This property has an amazing staff (Shout out to Kyla and Gigi... you two are AWESOME!) and it's super clean. Everything was in good repair during my stay. There was a little wear on the piping around the front of the couch cushions if I'm nit picking, but the room was spotless, the bed was comfortable and the HVAC was just right. If I had to change one thing, I would like a slightly larger fridge, but the small fridge that was there kept everything super cold to the point that it almost froze. The first night I was there, I had a couple of drinks in the lobby bar, and I talked to Kyla and Gigi. They are nice people and I had a great time hanging out with them. Then next night when I returned from work, they were at the front desk, and as I walked in they both lit up and said my name! That kind of personal relationship is hard to forge at your regular Wawa, I definitely didn't expect it at a hotel I was staying at for 3 days. It honestly made my trip. This attitude extended to the rest of the staff as well. You couldn't walk in or out without the front desk staff or manager greeting you, and the maintenance staff said ”Good morning!” if you passed them in the hallway. Even the guests seemed friendly, greeting each other in the halls. All around good vibe, and I will definitely stay here again next year.

Several other reviews have remarked about how tired and worn out this hotel is. Believe them. We recently stayed here for one night when in the area. The associates with whom we interacted at the front desk were all warm, friendly and professional. No issues with them at all. Breakfast was without issue, other than the space allotted for serving got a bit tight at times with too many people in too small of a space. The food was of decent quality and there was the usual assortment of Marriott breakfast items. The salsas were a nice addition. We were ”upgraded” to a two-bedroom ”suite” (due to status? other rooms in worse shape?) and while making our way there we noted the carpets in the hallways needed to be replaced. Once in our room, the carpet situation was even worse - stains and ripples led the way. There were a lot of cosmetic issues we noted straight off - dents in the stainless-steel refrigerator door, poorly done repairs that were still visible in the walls and ceilings, etc. No visible issues with cleanliness. The most obvious sign of deferred maintenance was that each of the three rooms had a window air conditioner unit. C'mon, you can't have your climate systems repaired? Later, from the outside, we noted that there were rooms here and there with window units. Really, it's just tacky. There were also little things that further pointed to the hotel cutting corners at the expense of guests - no sponge in the room, half-empty dish soap, no body lotion, no bag of microwave popcorn (though we haven't seen this since the pandemic at any Residence Inn...for no other reason than stinginess). Others have received responses from hotel management that renovations were planned but delayed due to the pandemic. More likely, I believe, is that the owner(s) is/are to blame. This hotel should lose its branding.

My check in and room were perfect by the absolutely lovely front desk woman who works 7pm when I checked in I wish I remembered her name… the very next day, I was overcharged $50 by a morning front desk employee who informed me they were “ sold out” and my “ only option would be to book through her” and she accepted 200 CASH “as long as I did the $25 deposit on a credit or debit card in my name”…. I was pressed for time and simply believed what I was being told in good faith as I’ve had never had an issue w a Hilton property over reservation charges and I am a Honors member for many years and much travel… suffice to say… I found availability for that night hours later when I had the time to review and attempt to book my third night…. Rooms were still(!) available online at rates lower that the 224 I was charged …. Third night I saved over fifty dollars by booking on Third party…. My suggestion is that prospective travelers Book Prior to stay and not reserve at front desk… this is common knowledge, but to tell me they were SOLD oUt and she was “ doing me a favor by extending my stay and allowing me to pay cash “( or perhaps ripping off both me and perhaps Hilton hotels ? I’m speculating on that… wish she had been accurate on my options if not outright LIE …. And I do not want to take Anything away from the great exp I had at check in ….the hotel is very comfortable without being modern in that way that NYC boutique hotels are… I find that sp**** mod look for hotel rather cold and pretentious…. Great smart TV w all access a clean room and all the amenities are what make this hotel a must if traveling to the area… just look thru Google hotels to find ur Very best rate .. and enjoy! The room was nice. I arrived in the morning, so I had my luggage checked in, but when I checked in, it was very quick and I already had my luggage in my room. This is a hotel that I would definitely recommend.

Everything was as you would expect from Hilton ! As a person to find fault in most hotels , motels and resorts . I can’t complain about any aspect of my stay . Was surprised to see the amenities back with Covid cases reaching the level currently reported . Staff were helpful and available . I would stay here again if I attend the Haskell at Monmouth Park . There off …. Crossing the finish line by a length . Homewood suites !

Was the worst experience I’ve ever had at a hotel. They were working directly under our room at 8am on a sunday. Hammering and power tools and then the fire alarm went off and was told by the people in the hallway we had to evacuate. Was just a horrible morning. Consumers appreciate the fact that you want to improve your facility but please be mindful of your guests staying there especially on a weekend. The reason why we even stayed over night was to have a good nights rest after along Saturday evening. So it really was horrible to be woken up to banging and power tools when all I wanted was a good nights rest.
