Petroff Palace Boutique Hotel

The location is very convenient, close to Dinamo metro station, and there are supermarkets nearby for easy shopping. The hotel environment is very good. Breakfast is average with not many choices. The room is neat and clean.

This hotel is located on Moscow's main street. It's a former Russian palace, and the architecture is grand and opulent. The garden is quiet and tidy, with gardeners often seen tending to the plants. It's lovely to sit there or take photos, but you can't enter the garden to take pictures unless you're a guest. The room, a suite, exceeded my expectations. The furnishings and decor are in an old palace style, yet the bathroom is fully equipped and meets all normal needs. The hotel's restaurant is located within the garden, offering a rich breakfast with standard Western options. For lunch and dinner, you can order from the menu. The restaurant's ambiance is tranquil, and you can also dine outdoors while enjoying the scenery. Security and front desk service were both excellent. Just outside the hotel is a small wooded area perfect for walks and relaxation. Not far from the hotel, there's a large shopping mall with convenient shopping and unique dining options, including a supermarket. It's right next to the metro, so not only is the building distinctive, but getting around is also very convenient. There's a small square in front of the station where you can often see street performers. There's also a small supermarket not far from the hotel with a wide variety of items. I highly recommend it.

This five-star hotel is definitely worth visiting. I stayed here for two nights when I landed in Moscow for National Day. What was a bit counter-intuitive was that you had to enter and exit through a small side door and go through security, as the main entrance was blocked. However, taxis also navigated to the side door, so it wasn't a big issue. As a hotel with over 200 years of history, staying here confirmed that you could really feel the era of old European nobility. The rooms also had that old aristocratic feel and were great for photos. Russia's largest shopping mall is less than 2 km away, making dining and shopping very convenient. There's also a subway station within 1 km of the hotel, though I mostly took taxis for my travels since taxis in Russia are really affordable, similar to prices back home. With Russia starting visa-free travel in 2026, more people are likely to visit. So, come and stay before prices go up. When I booked for National Day in 2025, it was just over 700 [currency unit] per night.

The environment is pretty good, though the room is a bit small. Transportation is quite convenient; you can just take a taxi. The breakfast was decent, and the staff were all very enthusiastic. They can also help you get a temporary residence permit, which is very convenient.
