Carlisle House Inn

Friendly attentive staff in a location that is easy walking distance to downtown. Also walkable to Beaches. (20 min.) Rooms have been updated since my last stay with new AC and even a small fridge. In my particular room the bath was down the hall but some rooms do have attached bath. Take care to be clear on want you want in relation to price point. A good continental breakfast is provided. Fresh baked cookies are offered on the Inns desk at the end of the day.

I absolutely loved my stay at Carlisle House Inn. The location is perfect for walking all around Nantucket, and there is even a free Wave shuttle stop directly across the street for 2026, which makes getting around incredibly easy. The inn and my room were spotless and beautifully designed. I stayed in the Sconset room, which had a king bed, bath, and sitting room — it was cozy, elegant, and so comfortable. You can really tell the owner has thought of every detail. Breakfast each morning was such a nice touch with fresh fruit, yogurt, waffles, cereal, and a bright, welcoming dining area. Since I visited during a quieter time, noise was minimal and the entire atmosphere felt peaceful and relaxing. The staff were gracious, helpful, and welcoming throughout my stay. The owner is especially kind, knowledgeable, and truly wants guests to enjoy Nantucket. Although it was chilly during my visit so I didn’t spend time outside, the outdoor spaces still looked beautiful and inviting. I would absolutely stay here again and am already looking forward to returning next year. You will not be disappointed.

This gem, located close to downtown, was everything I could have hoped it to be. Owner operated, the Inn Owner lives on-site. She and her staff are non-intrusive, but concerned and attentive to your needs. Everything is done with much detail, including the decor. Morning, continental breakfast always has fresh fruit with a variety of pastries, breads, juices, and more. You would never know that this building, older than the United States, was built in 1765. Workmanship is beautiful, water in the shower is always hot, the Inn has a calming vibe, with great scents throughout, yet you can feel the history and character.

The Carlisle House Inn is located just outside of town and walking distance to Jetties Beach. The innkeeper and staff were lovely and helpful with anything we needed. The continental breakfast was great and the gardens were beautiful. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. I highly recommend the inn!

The Carlisle Inn is perfectly situated in town, close enough to the center and just a short walk from all the shops, restaurants and waterfront. The rooms are lovely and welcoming, outfitted with AC and fans, decorated with antique Nantucket relics. Jeneane is a warm host, always looking to make the stay of her guest as pleasant as possible. It's a wonderful place to hang one's hat for a week and I've enjoyed coming back year after year.

Really enjoyed the Carlisle House. Well appointed accommodations, the owner has a decorator’s eye. We had a suite so it was nice and roomy. Innkeeper, Jeaneane, is lovely and very helpful about activities about the weekend. Continental breakfast was nice with lots of fruits, breads/pastries, and yogurt.

Super friendly, perfect location , spotless and super hopeful with my 3 luggage’s I will definitely stay here again if I come back to Nantucket

Our stay at the Carlisle House Inn was absolutely wonderful! From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the beautiful ambiance and welcoming atmosphere. The property is charming, peaceful, and feels like a true getaway. The staff were exceptional—friendly, attentive, and always available if we needed anything. Their hospitality made us feel right at home. The inn was spotless, and it was clear that great care is taken to maintain every detail. The amenities were above and beyond what we expected, including a convenient charging station in the room, a wine fridge, cozy robes, and many thoughtful touches throughout our stay. The complimentary breakfast was delicious, and we loved all the extras that made the experience so special: afternoon cookies, s’mores in the evening, refreshing fruit-infused water, and the gorgeous outdoor garden oasis where we could relax and unwind. Another huge bonus was the ability to rent a Jeep through Turo, making it easy to explore the area and add a little adventure to our trip. Every aspect of our stay exceeded expectations. If you're looking for a clean, comfortable, and beautifully maintained inn with outstanding service and incredible amenities, the Carlisle House Inn is a perfect choice. We can't wait to return!

What really set this place apart were all the little touches: beach towels and robes readily available, cookies in the evening, s’mores, and countless other thoughtful amenities that made the stay feel special. The staff was incredibly friendly, and the innkeeper was especially warm, accommodating, and genuinely invested in making sure we had a great experience.
