Overall we enjoyed our stay at this small charming hotel, but we did have a few bumps and a few comments to make. We liked the style of our room that continued the yacht club vibe of the hotel. The blue and white room was cheerful with some built-in shelving, textured walls, and custom light fixtures that gave the space a homey but sophisticated look. We also appreciated ample drawer space and an empty mini refrigerator to put our own items in. We did not use the TV during our stay, but if we had, the best way would have been from the bed as the lounger in the room faces away from the screen. The black and white tiled bathroom was attractive with a large walk-in shower. We did have an issue with the air conditioning not really getting to a comfortable level until the middle of the third night of our stay, despite reasonable and consistent outside temperatures. Also of note two of the six showers taken by us were cool. A highlight of the hotel is the pool which is located in a courtyard surrounded by the hotel. It is nice and long and seems to have more than enough loungers around it. The gym is accessed off a covered corridor next to the pool and has a few cardio machines, windows to the pool, but limited workout equipment. We did not use or see the spa. We had breakfast at the very stylish Mayor’s Table and enjoyed a good meal and service. Overall the staff at the hotel was friendly with the parking valets a real standout. They looked great in their sporty causal outfits and always had the car available within minutes. The location of the hotel is great for easy walks to the beach or the cute Lido Marina Village shopping area where you will find a collection of great upscale restaurants overlooking a marina, plus a few shops. The hotel however is surrounded by roads, one of them very busy, and its own parking lot. There seems to be limited meeting space which we think is a good thing so the chances of a large group overwhelming the hotel are slim. Since this hotel often can charge more than $600 for the cheapest room we expected higher quality basic room features. The bed sheets were thin and average, the toilet paper thin and cheap, and the toilet seat surprisingly not a soft close model. And to be picky, we thought the pool loungers should have been cushioned at this pricing level. Parking is $46 per day, and the resort fee is $35 a day but does include use of bikes and a beach shuttle. Neither of which we used.

Aside from the normal… Clean hotel, comfortable beds, delicious warm breakfast, excellent location… This hotel went above and beyond and being accommodating. I want to send a huge shout out to one of the girls at the front desk, Daisy. The balcony on the first floor is open, and the security is good in the surrounding area, so I don’t worry about security issues.

The service environment is very good. There is a shopping mall nearby. The drinks in the bar downstairs are good. The room is clean and sanitary. There are two restaurants in the hotel, one of which is an Italian restaurant. The food is beautifully presented, the price is not cheap, and it tastes good. 😋

My wife and I often stay at Marriot properties throughout the United States. We are retired and do a lot of travel in the US and abroad. The customer service at each Marriott Hotel location has been very good, however at the Marriott Bayview, Newport Beach the service we received upon arrival and all throughout our one-week stay were exceptional. Let me explain. When we arrived at the Hotel, my wife and I was greeted by Josiah Escamilla, the Manager. To say he was very professional, very polite, and very accommodating is an understatement. Josiah was excellent in the attention he gave us, his professional demeanor, and most of all the unbelievable hospitality that Josiah showed us was just…incredible. Never before have we ever been treated with such hospitality in such a professional and courteous manner. Josiah made our stay just an absolute delight. Josiah made certain that whenever we called for room service or for extra towels, blankets, etc., we got what we needed in record time. Josiah was very knowledgeable about events and activities in the hotel and the various amenities the hotel had to offer e.g., restaurant, in-room dining service, gym, outside walking trail, etc. He and his staff made our stay very enjoyable. When we left the hotel, my wife thought that she had lost her purse, we called Josiah to inform him of the loss and within just 15 minutes Josiah called us back to let us know that he had gone back to our room and found my wife’s purse. He then secured the purse in the Hotel safe and insisted that he be the one to give it to my wife when she returned the following day to pick it up. Josiah also was able to correct an error in our Lifetime Gold Elite membership points, which upon our checkout had not been added to our account. He called us to inform us that he made the correction and as a result, the points we earned during our stay, were added to our existing points balance. He and his staff must be acknowledged for the tremendous work they put in to make our visit so comfortable and so enjoyable. We really appreciate the unbelievably high level of service we received throughout our stay. This kind of exceptional service we enjoyed, thanks to Josiah and the rest of his staff, Christine, Maryam, Mariana, Stephanie, Anthony, Tommy, and Josef is why we will continue to stay at Marriott Hotels and particularly the Bayview Marriott, Newport Beach. Kudos to Josiah and the entire staff at the Marriott Bayview Hotel, Newport Beach, California. Thank you, Brian W.

Stayed for about a week, the front desk service is good, the hotel lobby is beautiful, the room has a small balcony, which can be opened for ventilation, the surrounding environment is quiet, there is a 7-11 not far away by walking a few minutes, and you can buy daily necessities in it There are several restaurants next to it. There is also a dry cleaner, a fast food restaurant, and a health drink shop on the way from the hotel to 7-11. However, the only shortcoming of the hotel is that it took only three days to clean the room and call the Ctrip staff. , helped me solve it. It is said that during the epidemic, the hotel has such regulations, but you can tell the hotel that cleaning is required, and it is also possible. If you do not need cleaning, you can put the garbage bag at the door of the room, and Ctrip customer service will handle it in a timely manner and quickly. There is room service to come clean. However, there are no garbage bags in the trash can of the hotel. Next, I went to 7-11 to buy some. Besides, the hotel bedding, the mattress is really too soft. It is so soft that I cannot sleep on a soft bed. The third day My spine hurts when I sleep. It's really uncomfortable. The sheets and blankets are uncomfortable, and the pillows have a smell. It's the smell of head oil. It's not the reason I slept for a few days, it's the first night. Just smell it! You can ignore it if you don't mind! After all, I can endure it for a few days 😥

The facilities are definitely up to the standard of a four-star hotel. The outdoor swimming pool and hot tub are beautiful at night, the breakfast buffet has fresh fruits, and the mattresses and pillows are very comfortable.

The environment, services, and sanitation are very good, and the most surprising thing is that there are washing machines and dryers, and the pots and pans in the kitchen are very clean. I highly recommend it and will definitely stay again

Very Good
GGuest UserWe have stayed here before and it was amazing, family owned and cozy hot spot. I’m not going to lie when I found out it was under new ownership and new employees but... wow I was beyond impressed!! Great place to stay with family. I was in the big room with my daughters for their spring break this year and I couldn’t have asked for better service. Check in was simple and easy The rooms are totally accommodating for family trips and I’d imagine others for solo. But our stay was fantastic, we had the big room right next to the sun deck and the ocean is about a 700 ft walk (if that really)! Great place to stay happy they’re still open during covid. This place went above and beyond— my daughter got bit by something or stung at the beach and the woman at the front desk that evening was able to pull out a first aid kit immediately to help us and accommodate ALL needs. She told me the room we were in was labeled the “party room” 219 and she was very kind, friendly, informative and did anything she could to help us with the sting or bite plus our stay. I can’t remember her name but she works evenings and I believe her name started with a K or Kayla. If she is the one checking you in then you will be in great and safe hands! The Newport Channel Inn is doing better than ever and we cannot wait to come back (minus the bite/sting from the beach) It may look older from the outside but the quality of the feeling of home being away from home, those special employees and the beach right across the street will always have me as a repeat guest!!!
5500dcmWifi constantly drops in day paying wont make it better. Cleaning is poor will only do fast job on floor, some of bathroom every TWO weeks !? or after move out since Covid. Used to be weekly and whole room clean. They dont clean microwave, stove.fan hood ,fridge said won't dust or clean furniture counters window sills if you have things on any part of tables/dressers or even when you dont .TV windowsill underbed are now thick with dust is why I asked what is wrong. Said we have to clean our own rooms but for floor tub toilet and sinks. Wont give TP you have to wait in a line at front desk to ask when you run out.and for fresh towels Lots more possible COVID exposure in that. i had to move out of accessible room due to noise and now they even changed shower heads so its very hard to wash hair etc They said to save water. i got that surprise Friday night with no notice. Now my 5 minute showers will be 20. Not such a water savings, and even harder for me. This used to be a great place . Sadly I'm here in a disabled veterans program to avoid homelessness during Covid but its Less clean than it was and my choice noise outside room not dealt with was accessible or sleep wasn't good. Now no real cleaning? . Other longer term guests clean themselves or hire outside maids. There is not enough storage or accessibliity for long term stays and that you need to store things on dresser and tables is used as more excuse to not clean. What a shame they have lowered cleaning and room supply standards when saying they are higher. Been here 6-8 months and hearing more and more complaints .Not sure what local corporate is thinking -doing less while advertising it's more.
