Overall a nice place to stay near Linville Falls and the Blue Ridge Parkway. A few miles in any direction gets you to other neat places, like Blowing Rock, Boone or Banner Elk or example. Historic and old, it has traits of the orignal still in place, like a gravel parking area and driveway and parking in the grass under the trees too. Quaint and different. General Store and a restaurant are both across the street for your needs and meals, so that works out good too. One minor annoyance in our day and time is the lack of good internet connections, except if you stand nearest the office, so most rooms have no internet connection bottom line. Sure, we can live without it, but we sure do enjoy having it even in remote historic areas like this Lodge. Clean and compact, very reasonably priced too. Worth a stay, and if you need it they have a couple of houses that work out great for a large family or group of friends.

Anytime we come to visit this area, we make it a habit to stay here. This place sits in a nice location, close to the Blue Ridge Parkway, it's always clean and inviting and we are always made to feel welcome here. They have a nice selection of breakfast items in the little nook area to start your morning. The beds/pillows are very comfortable, and Wendy is wonderful. Only disappointment this time was that we weren't staying longer.

If you want to get away from concrete and technology this is the place. Very relaxing sitting outside after hiking. Clean rooms and friendly owners and operations staff. Nicely restored and maintained. Will make this a place on my return list. Love the restored mom& pop type places. This is a Gem.

This was off the beaten path. A short distance from some trails that took us to Linville Falls. Right next to the Blue Ridge Parkway entrance. Perfect location. Family run business. We stayed in the lodge (room #1) and could get wifi if we sat on the porch. The general store across the street had pizza so after a long day of driving we were happy to walk across and get some pizza. And the hike to the falls was very nice. The rooms were comfy and clean. Would recommend this place.

This throwback to the early days of motor touring is a perfect stop on the Blueridge Parkway. Located in a perfect location it is clean and the staff members are friendly and helpful. The light breakfast available is perfect to start the day. I usually stay at various chain hotels but really enjoyed the peaceful setting, Cell service is spotty and they only have wifi in the lobby area but honestly this just adds to the peaceful and relaxing environment where you are surrounded by nature. I highly recommend this property if you are travelling on the parkway.

Very cute establishment. The grounds were inviting and well maintained. Room was clean and bed was comfortable. They had a breakfast nook which was very nice. Close to the Falls and the Caverns We would definitely stay here again. Great Stay!!

My husband was looking for a nice stop on our way home from Hilton Head, SC, and this was the perfect place for our family (two daughters, 12 and 15). I was a bit skeptical of a "motel", but it was very quaint, felt safe, and very clean. I usually don't reveiw hotel soaps, but whatever they have, deserves a thumbs up! Also, nice duvets that you will find in privately-owned European hotels, and manageable in-room coffee, which is a big deal for us. It was also very close to the Linville Winery, another gem (with really good wine), the caverns, and waterfall. In the evening, it was raining a bit, but I sat on the porch with a glass (or two) of cabernet, reading a really good thriller and really enjoyed the surroundings and quiet atmosphere.

My only complaint is that we only stayed one night! Our travel plans changed and we arrived in the area a day early. Our cabin was not ready and so I booked a room at Linville Falls Lodge because it was affordable and we only needed a bed for the night. This family owned lodge was hands down better than the two hotels we stayed in on our road trip in that were owned by national companies and three times the price. The beds were comfortable, the rooms were very clean, the staff was amazing! The place is just beautiful and quaint. Check in was personal and easy. We received some great tips on hikes and food. I would 100% come back to stay for a full vacation. A few things: it may have been the day we were there, but the restaurant across the street was not open the morning we were there. It is a bit of a drive to a get to anywhere to eat (meaning our hungry seven year old was hangry by the time we ate). The rooms are not air conditioned which did not bother us as it was a cool night, but just be aware.

We travel a lot and usually stay in one of the upper chain hotels normally, but we had been driving on the parkway and googled hotels near me and this hotel popped up. I was a little skeptical at first but read the reviews and thought we would try it for one night. We arrived and the staff was very helpful and friendly. The rooms are smaller but very cozy, and very clean. We sat out on the porch and talked, it was like old times! They had coffee in the room and a little breakfast room with fresh fruit. The fitness room was walking outside around the beautiful property. The lady who is the manager came by and checked on us to make sure we were taken care of and gave us the scoop on restaurants and places to visit nearby. My room didn't have a bar of soap in the shower, so I went to the front desk and happened to meet the owner. He was so apologetic about the minor mistake, and personally went over and got me one from the supply room. I guess it shocked me that someone really seemed to care about service and wanted to make our stay the best. Yes I have many hotel points, but from now on if I am within an hours drive, I will be relaxing there again.
